Here is a new one I haven't seen any mention of. I've been running alot of laps in my Ruf CTR as of late, all in GT mode. Over 500khms in 3 days.

I left the Nordschleife and went back to my garage to change cars and I saw it. My beloved CTR was "hovering". In the garage door (home default screen), in my garage when I select the car. It is also hovering on all of the loader screens (i.e. when you go into a series or free run area and you see your car above the track selections).

This is the first time I have seen this. I thought maybe it was a friendly reminder that my car needs an oil change. So I went to change the oil. Yup it was hovering there. When I actually select the oil change the car lifts a tiny bit and then lowers a tiny bit, but still knee height off of the floor. Same for the rims area too.

I went back to the Nordschleife and went on track to see if it was hovering while driving. Nope, it is stuck to the ground like it should be.

I also checked the Ruf dealer and the one in the dealer isn't hovering, just my CTR.

I also checked arcade mode and it isn't hovering there either.

I saved and restarted...still hovering.

All other cars are fine, they are all firmly on the ground.

Is this a friendly reminder for me to do something to the car (no message or dialog box appeared anywhere) or just a GUI bug I haven't seen. I have been playing GT4 since Jan 7th (I have the NTSC-J - japanese version). I have hundreds of hours logged in the game and have never seen this. Nor have I seen it mentioned here or any other GT4 boards.....

anyone?

EDIT: since no one has a clue what I am talking about, here are some pictures....

The dealer CTR is the one on the ground, while my CTR is hovering. No other cars in my garage are hovering. All 16 of them (I checked).

Have you bought a new CTR to see if hit hovers too. If it's just your car, and not a new one, that would be totally strange. Try a chassis refresh.

This happened to me too. It happened because you rushed the game, what i mean is that when you were buying a car you were more than likely pressing"X" very rapidly or at a controled rate and putting the games' timing off

Ya what are you saying?

I didn't "buy" the car. You can only win the CTR. Plus I've had this CTR for over a month and until last night it wasn't floating.

Next time you don't have anything to offer in a post. Don't post.

I will win a new CTR this weekend and see. I though maybe it needed a chassis refresh but it didn't, it wasn't even an option to select.

Wow Kensei, you're a jerk.

i think that guy meant you pressed something somewhere in to game to cause the timing to go off so that your car hovers.... dun bash the guy just because he gave one possible (although slim) reason for your problem...

Wow Kensei, you're a jerk.

And you base this on one post of me replying to some kid who posted a meaningless post...

I will admit I am cranky today...

But that is the thing...the guy gave a very pointless answer. You can press any button you like in the game and you aen't going to "throw" off the game's timing....

This thread seems much funnier when your in a giddy mood:D

hey... with the amount of bugs in this game... anything is possible...

:dopey: Oh dear, that bodes well.... :dopey: :dopey: :dopey:
So god forbid we should ever get bored of GT4 5 years down the line, we'll dig out this stuff and have a jolly good laugh... It's GT2 all over again, and to an extent GT3.... Too bad you can't patch-update a PS2 game!!
It'll come, i expect...

No, two. You're a total jerk. The guy saying that it could be from mashing the buttons was actually trying to put his two cents in and you bashed him for it. Get off your saddle Kensei.

Ohhh this is getting good now.

Kensei, I don't have the game yet, but that is oddly strange.

I'll have to admit, I wish they had postponed the game yet one more time and fixed the bugs (screen jittering, hovering cars, auto-save, etc) than releasing crap stuff. I will not be amazed if some one reports some "blue screen of death" during the game sort of thing.

I bashed him because a) his point was pointless (is it still a point then?) b) it would have nothing to do with this. You can touch or "mash" any button you like in Gt4 and it won't do squat to set off the game's timing. Come on.

I may be a jerk. Who knows. I just get so sick of reading pointless replies in threads. It's like sometimes people don't even read the original post. RE: the kid who posted the pictures of the TVR at trail mtn...uggh.

I don't see auto-save as a bug, but ya I sorta agree. The Japanese version that I have is a little rough around the edges. From what I am reading it doesn't seem the NA version is much different.

What amazes me though is that in almost 2 months of the game being out I have not see this "bug" anywhere before in my game save nor have I seen it refered to or mention anywhere on this site or any other GT4 message board. It just popped up last night randomly. I still sorta think it is the game trying to tell me something (i.e. like change my oil, chassis refresh, etc - tried both and it was a no go though)...but what it is telling me to do I have no clue.

I'm going to set B-spec mode to win another CTR right now and I'll see if that one is hovering.....

You mean like the bug free version that us PAL users are gonna get ;)

I'm sure you know this for sure right? You wouldn't just be an ass to someone if you didn't know for sure I hope. It's funny, other games have had problems like that of which he mentioned. GT4 couldn't possibly have the same error in it could it? I mean, it's only riddled with bugs, it couldn't. Also, nobody else has seemed to have the problem so why when a thought to what might be wrong is brought up you not only tell them their wrong, but you make an ass out of them and yourself in doing so. Great job Kensei!

Kensei, looks like the guy actually did have your problem. The only guy here who has had the same problem and you hassle him. I totally don't understand you.

Why don't you start nagging on me now huh? I haven't helped you out one bit on the tpic of this thread. Get off the backs of those trying to help you and hop on mine. It's more deserved than anyone you've been an ass to in here.

So you quote his post where he admits that he's a little cranky today and call him a jerk, that doesn't exactly make you look good does it.

Nice logic buddy.

Do I know it for sure. No. But I just spent 20mins "mashing" the buttons on my DS2 in just about every section of the game I could to get a car to hover. I like to try something and have back up proof before I say anything. I prefer not to go out and make wild asusmptions.

So no, I don't know for sure, but I have tried to replicate it and it's a no go.

Also thanks for the four letter word name calling. That one made me giggle like a schoolgirl. Fighting on a message board on the internet is umm...sorta dumb don't you think?

BTW - I let b-spec win me another CTR, and that one is solidly on the ground like is should be. As are the other 16 of 18 cars in my garage are...
