I've changed my mind again, this IS another Kolles scam. That's not say Fernandes is innocent by any means but Kolles is a nasty piece of work, in my opinion.

I think he represents the bad side of F1 in terms of taking as much money out as he can, no love for the actual sport.

People like Dennis, Williams, Jordan, they've all made significant personal guarantees and risked bankruptcy at one time or another through their love of the sport. I think Kolles is as far from that altruism as it's possible to be, with Fernandes somewhere midway. Waiting for his luggage.
 
If I recall, F1 isn't the only place he's trying to leach off as I read he's also doing some shady things with the Lotus P2 program.

He did say he'd prefer no Caterham, Marussia etc. and have 3 car teams.

So I don't imagine he's losing sleep over the teams leaving, more the tarnishing of F1s already chequered reputation in the media.

The sport's reputation is the bottom line, without the image you don't have the sponsors. If it's correct that Bernie intervened in Kolles' alleged blackmailing of Toto Woolff earlier in the season, and given Kolles' history in the sport, I wonder if Bernie might just pull the chain on him now.

He should have long ago, along with Flav the Crashman (he did, but it was over turned...).
 
Unverified reports (they cite anonymous sources) from Germany suggest Force India narrowly avoided a similar fate to Marussia and Caterham.

I think that's completely unworkable and that you're being totally unreasonable. I mean, how can anyone suggest that the sport use common sense to solve its problems when they can use DRS and something something something profit! Only the Weyland-Yutani Corporation has a better business model.
 
So there is only going to be an 18 car grid at the US GP?

Arguably he took Campos and turned them into an F1 team. He eventually left by "mutual agreement" but I don't know if he continued to hold part ownership.

Still, he probably emptied the stationery cupboard on his last day, in my opinion.
 
Given that he managed to turn them into an actual team, the stationery cupboard was probably his to begin with.

I'm not sure where all of this dislike of him is coming from, to be honest.

Well, he's been involved in blackmail, intrigue, liquidation-scandal and dentistry. His business dealings within F1 have not always seemed transparent or honest (even by that sport's standards) and there's a building whiff of corruption around him and the family members who sit as directors on Kodewa, the heavily-involved investment board.
 
His name has a funny way of showing only when some sort of dispute is going or some team is going under.

The only person I can think that is much worse is Scott Tucker. Sure Kolles actually blackmailed someone and continues running scams (while being a dentist. Damn dirty dentist), but to commit insurance fraud and then years later, turn right around and run a false business that's making people lose their Homes AND use that same money to run a race team Like Scott Tucker has managed to do has to be up somewhere at the top of Motorsports Entrepreneurial Treachery.
