Didn't know Candlemass had any new stuff out. Malmsteen had a new album out in December I just learned about, will listen to them sometime here... 👍

Here's a band I found yesterday. & I'm addicted to this song of theirs, that chorus is so powerful!! "Rock & Roll is the thunder that's in my blood!!!"

They sound like a mix of Talon and Riot.

Yep, and its very good. Not surprising since everything they've ever done is excellent. Sad to say that it will be their last studio album, at least that's the last I heard. But they said they will continue to play live. So I have to see them at least once one of these years.

In other news I've pretty much convinced my self I will be attending Desertfest in London in late April. I got the money for the plane ticket and have 4 1/2 months to save for spending money. Shouldn't be much of a problem as I have a job with decent hours and don't have rent or bills to pay. This will kind of mean I have to be steady with other shows I attend but I will still go to a few. I got a place lined up stay too so just gotta figure out logistics in my 5300 mile journey.

Pentagram, Dozer, Pagan Alter, Wo-Fat and Ramesses top the list of must sees with Pentagram being #1 considering they are I believe the FIRST state side metal band. (1970, but first album didn't come out till 85') but Bobby Liebling is probably one of the greatest lyricist of all time. Its amazing hes held up. If they are anything like Saint Vitus live, that will be worth it all by itself.

Anyways, I want to hook you all up with possibly the greatest little free compilation ever. 61 songs, 61 bands and its all good. Seriously good, and its all underground honest to god real ****. I was familiar with a few of the names, but for the most part all new. Just follow the BANDCAMP link at the bottom of the list to Download. So many great sounds. Its more of a Hardrock thing but plenty of heavy metal influence chugging riffs, some gnarly vocals and over all so much better then a lot of the new metal coming out.

Best thing ever.

Did anyone else check out Yngwie's new album spellbound? I liked it, But his singing certainly isn't very great, to say the least :yuck:. I would love to see him bring back Mark Boals, Joe Lynn Turner, or Jeff Scott Soto. Maybe Goran Edman.

Also, I forgot to mention that I got this a few weeks ago. AWESOME show:

Is that a VCR tape?

Don't know any of the other singers you mentioned but Jeff Scott Soto is very good. On youtube there's a video of him singing "Stand Up And Shout" from the movie "Rockstar" and he nails it. Not sure if he sings in the movie also.

Ya, Jeff Scott Soto is amazing. He's the vocalist I miss most :(. it would be awesome if Yngwie paired up with Jeff and the Johannsen (or something like that) brothers (Jens and Anders) again. And yes, it's a good ole' VHS tape :D

I remember the first time I heard Malmsteen was on the G3 Rockin' In The Free World CD. Which to this day is my favorite set of virtuoso ear sex.

Anyways I went to another gig a few days ago and got to test out my hearing protection plugs that worked perfectly. I could hear the show better and had zero ear ringing after... Which was awesome because I could actually listen to some music on my way home.

Line up was Wino, Saviours and Mondo Generator... A really gnarly mix and a couple massively influential musicians in one building. Scott Wienrich front man for Saint Vitus and a massive amount other side projects with varying success but all being solid gold in terms product. This was his solo acoustic stuff which was just him and his acoustic guitar.

Saviours being a local heavy metal band with balls that has a damn good following that is growing with its constant touring.

The final being Mondo Generator.. Punk inspired stoner band featuring Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, QOSTA and others). I was a bit disappointed with this one but maybe that's because I'm not all that familiar with the songs. They did have a little technical difficulties and threw his bass across the stage.. hehe. Mostly it was good to see him out playing after his stand off with a SWAT team in 2011...

How come nobody told me about The Sword or Saviours before? These bands are awesome.

I already have Witchcraft. Not too high on them, but they're decent.

^ I'm pretty excited about Jason's EP. Even ordered one of the autographed copies. Really looking forward to him releasing a full album.

Saw Down the other night... Holy **** what an amazing show.

Seeing Gojira with Devin Townsend and the Atlas Moth tomorrow night...

Rival Sons on the 25th..

then Testament and Overkill with 4Arm on the 30th...

I will also be going to the Metal Alliance Tour.. Anthrax, Exodus, High on Fire, Municipal Waste and HOLY GRAIL in March.. With a bunch of shows in between.. I'm really excited for that one.

Found a new band with an oldschool sound, I love it! The screams in this song are the best!! \m/

That is scary how my last name is literally 1 letter off from that band's name. And it's the last letter as well. And it's only like 3-4 away on the alphabet XD

I was looking through upcoming albums on Amazon and this cover caught my eye so I checked them out.

Their debut albums comes out Feb. 19(already out on MP3).👍

Discovered these guys a couple weeks back, through Bandcamp. They are from Italy so it adds a nice little diversity to ones lineup. I'm waiting for the CD to come out so I can add that really awesome artwork to my collection.

Just a heads up, they are on Spotify as well. Funny how they released there stuff a month before they release it... Lol.

^ That CD has been in my car for awhile. Really excited to finally see them, missed them last year when they were touring with Lamb of God because the tour got cancelled.

I just got back from The Atlas Moth, Devin Townsend Project and Gojira. Excellent show and luckily for me am a fan of all three bands. Devin is hilarious and really got the crowd riled up. Gojira is pretty nuts, I think the only thing heavier and louder that I've seen live would be Sleep. But I don't think they will ever be surpassed... Its an excellent line up... You kind of have to like that atmospheric sludge/post sound in vein of Neurosis.

Was cool to see Gojira protest their love for the Bay Area metal scene! =)
