Hell is for Heroes, the band... aren't they like punkish? I mean, punkish as Green Day?
 
I think he was talking about the track "Hell is for Heroes" by One Man Army and the Undead Quartet, I heard a few of their tracks on Myspace and they sounded good. Kerrang! Magazine also gave them a good review... 👍

I know most of you guys prefer the heavier stuff so don't flame me for saying this. Apart from In Flames and I suppose Soilwork, I find bands like All That Remains, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Still Remains and the like to be easier to listen to. Unless I'm in that mood for heavier stuff then I can't listen to a lot of it. So are there more bands like the ones listed above that I can listen to without needing to be in "the mood"?

Of the bands you mention, I'm most familiar with Avenged Sevefold, so coming from that style, have you tried 3 Inches of Blood, Manntis, Alexisonfire, Stutterfly, Atreyu or newer Norma Jean?

Maybe I should have replaced "heavy" with "less melodic bits". I'm a big fan of Stratovarius and I've got the Alexisonfire albums. I've also got some Atreyu and heard a bit of Norma Jean. I like what I hear on all of them.

The other bands, I've heard of but not checked out yet. That'll be my mission this week. Thanks. :)

  • Nightfall - Lyssa
  • Skyfire - Spectral

Most of those are probably obvious, and you've probably got most of those, but I just thought I'd throw them up there just in case you hadn't.

Yeah, look, someone that read my post! I said I was talking about one man army and the undead quartet and the song hell is for heros on their 21 century killing machine album. I'm pretty sure I said this in one or two posts so please dont blame me because you dont understand. That is no ones fault but your own.

I have the Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater and Opeth discographies as well as the latest Hypocrisy album. I've heard of a couple of the others but haven't got their material so I'll check them out...thanks. :D

in case you thought someone was ignoring your question, I haven't searched. As to knowing it from my own taste, I don't like Arch Enemy. Have you tried Children of Bodom?

On the other hand, Rammstein... are they even considered metal?

I doubt they're anything like Arch Enemy though. Try Dark Tranquillity, ROAD_DOGG. Try the songs "The Wonders At Your Feet" and "The Sun Fired Blanks". 👍

Well, I like older In Flames, but I absolutely cannot stand "HIM"... Cheesy, egotistical, pop nonsense... So, I'm really not sure if this is the band for me... I'll have to check them out...

I recently heard "Intelligent-Jump-Up-Two-Tone-Math" Drum & Bass, so I guess anything is possible.
