Leaving the mic on... but no talking. I'm sorry, but hearing you coughing/farting/burping/your music/nervous laughter/giggling/breathing and/or anyhting other than talking about GT, Cars, or at least something interesting is annoying! Oh yeah talking about NFL or any sports in general is annoying period.

Don't you ever run into these people? The room is quiet, not a lot of people have mics on but everyone is just racing... you're in your grove turning in quick lap times like clock work BUT all the while someone is coughing/sniffling/smoking/breathing in the mic... you then stop what you're doing, go back to the lobby, wait to see who it is, then MUTE. 👎

Countdowns to top speed... if you're gonna do this, PLEASE do not start 20mph from your top speed. I litterally had someone in a X1 count off from 280mph all the way to 300, shouting over the mic every single 1mph increase in speed 281MPH!!! 282MPH!! 283MPH!!! (15-20secs of this all the way to 300mph) !!!!! - THEN WHOA!! WALL! OMG!!!! Just sucks the energy out of the room... this goes for every car. I mean if its a real impressive feat for a particular car - in which a lot of tuning was involved - that's fine. It's mildly interesting... but damn, a car that should do 300mph rather easily just isn't impressive or interesting at all.

Ranting about Pitbulls. lol. Pretty annoying. This is happening as I type this. It's kinda what prompted me to make a thread about how annoying people are sometimes.

RAGE. Rage in general is to be expected -well when you put usual gamer rage with ppl who have road rage... then LULZ is sure to ensue - and it does quite often. Nothing like hearing that e-tough guy with a voice no more threatening than a middle schooler telling me he's going to kick my butt IRL because he wrecked into me. But it is annoying when all you want is just a pure driving experience with your favorite car amongst enthusiasts who are all meshing together... UNTIL HE COMES, THE RAGE CARRIER! his face probably looks like this ---> :grumpy:

anyone else get annoyed by ppl or am I just overly nit-picking???

You sound like a bitter man.

:D Relax, it's a game. It's supposed that a game is for relax and abstraction from reality.

The only thing that annoys me are the dicks who drive around the track the wrong way with the sole intention of ruining everyones race.

You have a mute button, use it:idea:

The real problems online are:
- People who block you on the straights
- Ramming
- Using your car as a brake
- People who kick you for winning a race by a large margin

Rooms that are not labeled "free run" and you end up wasting 20 minutes waiting for a race that's not going to happen.

The people who think that they personally own the track are the most annoying. Smashing you into walls, overtaking recklessly then complaining when you clip them, or just generally being a dick and driving the wrong way.

The whole point of this game is to enjoy a good race, not for some immature little idiot to drive the wrong way and park himself on the inside edge of a hairpin or something like that. There should be a report button tbh.

Reported 3 times = a week ban.
Reported 5 times = goodbye!

I fail to see the point of a free run room, go and use practice rather than clogging up the online lobby with your useless rooms!

I hate trying to weed out the bad rooms for 1 good room. Every room says 1 lap. Who races like that? I need hp/kg/ over 5 laps. Or pp. (although i dont know if i like that yet) Then it sounds like ur serious.

Free Run simulates the experience of a "trackday" at a local track, people coming on the track with various cars to work on setups, practice passing, follow each other around the track to learn lines etc.

It's actually a realistic thing, and quite fun, so not useless to most of us that enjoy it.

exactly, just watch a video of a trackday in nordschleife, it's the only thing that i do online, and i LOVE it, sadly it gets ruined by people with X1's ramming everyone

I recently joined a room, with 2 kids in it who were both on mic, chatting away (must of been about 13 or so, judging by the high pitchedness in their voices)

When one of them announces "I'm going to get a crappy car and drive into Cally Dave because I can" - at which point I promptly left....

Another one, these IDIOTS who think the X2010 is the best car EVER!!! Who don't stop talking about it on mic, saying its sooooo amazing, and nothing is as good..... I was kind enough to leave a message on the chat feature for the room, explaining how he should try driving a car based on a real life object, and not a hyped up F1 car.... and again, promptly left.....

Whiners, the ones who cry about everything. I especially like it when they spin themselves out and always claim someone else spun them around.

Also the people who quit races as soon as they think they have no shot at winning. Very annoying and robs everyone else of XP/CR.

More funny to me than annoying ... but the guys who are real chatty until they get to the front then you don't hear anything from them, LOL.

whiners, rammers, and people who use you as a brake/barrier to corner.

other than that, the knowitalls on mics who claim to know everything about tuning, motorsports and what is 'best' and proceed to get beaten are amusing.

Rooms labelled 'all welcome' then as it's loading you here someone on the mic saying 'kick him', someone else going 'why' then getting kicked, before the track has even loaded

I hosted a room the other day with a BHP limit and weight limit but i allowed driving aids. I believe it should be up to the individual how they have their car set up and not for me to dictate that to them. Personaly i like to use some but not all and that will vary car to car. Anyway, i had 2 people in the room complaining that i was allowing the use of them and that it was cheating. I politely explained that if it's a feature of the game then it's not cheating and that if they don't like it then why bother staying in my room - go and find another one! The abuse i got off them was unbelaivable, name calling, all sorts. After booting them out they then resorted to messaging me through the PSN. One, who called himself StigRS6 i think actualy had such self believe that he accused me of kicking him out 'because i knew he was better than me' ! Get over yourself man, it's A GAME !!!

that's from XKCD!

good read!

sorry for the off-topic

I know it,s annoying but... just use the private louge after you've met a bunch of people you like

lowering the pp of the X2010 so they can enter said car.

I like to run a free run drift room bc I can never find a good room, I set the max HP at 700 (no x2010/fgt/veyron noobs) and min weight at 900kg so they can't power limit them either, people still join and whine about the power limit... It's a drift room, why do you need 700 HP??

Or the 2 guys I kicked yesterday, 1 drove the wrong way for 2 minutes and messaged me asking why I kicked him?

Other guy was doing donuts for 5 minutes and keep yelling at people who hit him... Kicked and messaged me why as well.

I don't get some people.

This and people who enter rooms and expect all the rules to change to their liking.

Yeah that would be helpful but the angry kid in the corner who just lost is gonna report you 3 times because they are :grumpy: .

I was gonna start a thread to complain but I will just write it here.
What I hate is when you enter a shuffle race labeled "clean racing" and you get a Lancia stratos that is really hard to drive against easier cars. You lead for the whole race and you get to the last corners (Circuit de la sarthe 2009) and a mini cooper S is right on your tail. You brake for the corners and the Mini and his other friends cut the corners to take victory. Really not cool 👎

Now I am happy again :)

Haha, yeah see my other post regarding that ! (#16) :)

Wow... Online sounds like good fun. Glad I only play offline. No 13 year olds, no retards, just me and some nice cars. A much better way to enjoy GT5.

I hate when someone decides to take a tank car and then speeds down the Top Gear runway annihilating everyone in their path.

Same mic comments as the thread originator.

Some funny ones:

Racer's mic on and the wife/partner/girlfriend discussing something other than GT5; e.g. grocery list; etc.

The racer going on and on about how Forza is so much better; but he continues to stay on the GT5 track; I said to him: so why are you on here then?

2 racers accusing each other of being punters and asking the host to boot the other out!; I suggested may be a racing incident; say sorry and give the rest of the racers an ear break!

Worst case(s) racist; abusive language :yuck:

Great thing: you can always leave or if you are the host; boot the hosers out eh! :)

I can see that being a very fun, yet very douchey thing to do online.

Annoying thing for me is, is people going the wrong way and crashing into others on purpose. It's not funny to do at all :/

If I were the host, I would have kicked them both.

People that create a room with the limitations based on a custom car they just build. Sure, there are much worse things one can do but it can be really annoying at times.
