The Most Annoying Things People Do Online

Wow... Online sounds like good fun. Glad I only play offline. No 13 year olds, no retards, just me and some nice cars. A much better way to enjoy GT5.

But then you realize that the other drivers aren't aware of you:

Driving X1's in LM Races.

You have a mute button, use it:idea:

The real problems online are:
- People who block you on the straights
- Ramming
- Using your car as a brake
- People who kick you for winning a race by a large margin

The same things that happen to me 90% of the time im online :grumpy:.

Well I really haven't had much issues online at all, since I usually race against very clean racers for the most part, a couple of guys really drive as if their lives depended on it. But we are all pretty respectful of one another and we have 10-16 player races.

What I do dislike is when the room is public and people come in and act like they can't read. It says Super/JGTC only, don't pull out a Citroen GT LM car, don't whip out your Mustang, keep your BMW in the garage...read and understand.

I dislike people who mod their race cars and then want the host to up the HP, why? If the host wants stock race cars, then get a stock race car.

Don't come into a room then get impatient that the race isn't starting when you want it to. Just ask what time will the race begin, no need to act as if you are the sole owner of the room.

Ok why is it everyone thinks they can win the race in the first corner? Tires start out cold and slippery, stop trying to dive deeper than everyone else to gain an invisible advantage, usually nets with smoke and a pile up.

Worst thing is dishonest drivers, some people have cars with mods on and dirty oil so they have a lower than normal hp value, but their torque is better and well gives them an edge especially on straights.

I remember getting kicked from a room once because the room host got mad at me for hurting his buddys feelings.

It was a top speed race at SSR7 and i was using a passionate pink speed 12 and the host's buddy had an X1(yeah i know...:grumpy:). So X1 guy slows down to about 120 mph down the first part of the tunnel for some strange reason, and i fly by him at about 230Mph. All is going well until the X1 guys types up "i slowed down to see what car u had you d o u c h e!" to which i replied" then wait until the race is over you t w i t! then the host comments"Don't worry, hes probably a noob hacker, everyone knows you cant paint a speed 12" to which i reply" yes you can, and ur freind must s u c k if he cant catch me in an X1", so after a few more:censored: comments (we actually stopped racing to argue, some guy laughing at us in a renault maxi turbo won)i was booted from the room.

Its moments like these that make you lose faith in gamers, i tell ya.:indiff:

I'm not a fan of tire/aid restrictions in free run rooms. Doesn't make much sense to me and probably just causes accidents.

Limits on weight/hp also bug me a bit in the free run rooms--I know folks are trying to avoid being destroyed by veyrons and x2010s, but it also leaves out about half of my cars including my fleet of cappuccinos.

Really my biggest problem with online is that for some reason PD hasn't given us the proper tools to filter through them correctly using the information that *they already track and display* for each room. I'd kill for a proper title search, and some advanced criteria checkboxes.

The biggest thing that has been buggin me is from the patch. I tend to join limited rooms, either by HP or PP, but now people just put the power limit to 50% on their LMP and kill me in my 458. I know it's technically not wrong it just seems douchey. So I started joining street car only rooms, but people still bring in jgtc cars or rm's and it's just like -.-

Kick look justified 👍

Also reading this thread i think you guys don't have reliable friendlist ;)

On my list 80 (people) almost 20-30 are active everytime playing GT5. I don't need to make public races at all.

When you have problems with online users just create your own room.

When someone is not happy with rules of your server just kick him if he don't stop complain.

When you find someone who obey rules and he is nice too chat add him to your friend list.

Free Run servers are the best people :) Real track day :)_

What is with all these idiots who think it's cool to have catch phrases that they say every time they enter a room or leave one. They sound like the most clueless, useless people ever, saying "have no fear, the darkest demon in the world is here." Honestly, it's not a good impression, haha.

Another annoying thing people do online, in my view, is using the X2010 in low PP races to their advantage.

When I host a room, I just disable the mic. I can't bare hearing people's voices going through my TV speakers...

All I want to hear are the sounds from the game and engines... that's all!

Depends on how you look at it, since most of the time i have to rage because the other person is an impatient doof and i just love doing so. i wouldnt get mad just to be mad, because a lot of people online are really cool. i just had a bad day with these guys and im not one to back out an argument, especially with a raging idiot.:sly:

EDIT:I do create rooms sometimes, once i created a room for everyone to be an idiot in. Yes, i'm essentially enforcing the behavior i hate, but sometimes its fun to watch someone rage over losing a race to a dirty veyron.

Im from America. Last night i was in a room where some guy from Russia was talking s*** to every american person in the room... rooms name was "Americans only." Maybe it was my fault for not looking at the persons flag under "room host" before entering. But thats one thing i cannot bare, for what i consider a non racial, mature oriented racing game, is Racism. Its pretty unbelievable.

You would be surprised how often i get that playing in a japanese drifting servers, i hear them talk 🤬 about me being british. they can be just as ignorant as the rest of the world. one person called me a 🤬 american when i clearly have a british flag next to my name. i get rammed of the track for no reason and sometimes booted just from having a different flag next to my name. pitty i can type in japanese in my EU account to even defend my self. need to get my self a mic.

Then you get the awesome japanese drifting servers where when you spin out, you get the hell off the road quickly to let other people past and not barge onto the track until you're sure its clear. If you ram someone you quickly say you're sorry.

If your playing on a japanese server look out for this - 外国人 or 外人

There's been a time when I was in a room and TWO bad things happened at once. The first was me and 7 hardcore racers racing Beetles, 500s, and 2CVs around Monza, and this dickdripper shows up with a friend, and both get a Tank Car and Ram 1500 LARAMIE. The Tank car blocks the road while the Ram hides and comes up behind and rammed the only 2CV in the race, squishing it against the Tank Car. It broke my heart when the two started laughing. I messaged the host who didn't have a mic "Please do something!". He went to the main lounge and kicked both idiots. Then the second time, about an hour later, I kid you not, someone started playing "Baby" really loudly. I wanted to scream.

Immature players that decide to make fun of your PSN name for no reason. I got some guy inventing something GTP "stands for". And then he promptly called me a "German 🤬" Except I'm Colombian. Education really didn't do it's job with this person.

And this is why I always try to avoid playing in the open lounge as much as possible.

I can't stand Mics in any game. There is nothing tactical about mics.

Mics in COD are reserved for Racial Slurs.

Calling someone an African Country is not tactical.

Free run lobbies:

-You only ever see them on TGTT, Daytona Superspeedway, and course generator tracks.
-They're full of annoying people.
-On the TGTT, half the people are driving around (or parked) between Bentley and Bararch. Most of the others are doing drag races on the runway.
-Some of the people running laps are running around the perimeter of the course, thus, they end up driving the wrong way on half the course.
-Many of the others expect slower cars to let them through, and will force the issue instead of going around (usually losing several seconds in the process).

I actually find quite a couple of rooms with some really down to earth and chill people.

Especially the stoners.

They'll park their car and go "hey man, I'm about to light this bong up, don't mind me, just run through the track if you'd like and we'll start as soon as I take a couple of hits and get my fade on. And we get more people going."

By far the douchiest people are the ones who ram you in the back. This is especially problematic on rooms where all driving aids are off, and everyone is using high HP machines.

Ok why is it everyone thinks they can win the race in the first corner? Tires start out cold and slippery, stop trying to dive deeper than everyone else to gain an invisible advantage, usually nets with smoke and a pile up.

This x 10. Nurburgring GP is a classic example. Everybody has to be last of the late brakers and ends up punting people who know the limits of adhesion into the bushes.

Also people who dont know how to overtake without stuffing up your race in the process. Just because you happen to carry more speed then me through a set of corners, doesnt mean two cars can fit through one apex. If you cant make a clean pass, dont pass. End of story.

Then they fall asleep. Thank God for the auto start.

I was online the other day and someone had their mic on, they must have forgotten it was on because I could hear him on the phone to his dealer, he was buying £50 worth of dope for the weekend :)

(we actually stopped racing to argue, some guy laughing at us in a renault maxi turbo won)

This is hilarious.

I've not played a whole bunch but I've found my fair share of squeakers (sorry young kids but you sound awful on a bluetooth) and racist jerks.

I've bumped my fair share of people and even spun some people out (not intentionally though) but I always apologize after the race or if we're using mics, right then.

I must be lucky for not finding all the people who love to crash stuff and ruin good races. I do get punted a lot though, most of the time the punter ends up punting the host and gets the boot. But after playing CoD, Halo: Reach, and all the other games that attract jerks and idiots, I find GT5's community to be very nice. The majority of people I've met actually use mics for talking.

Now, I'm off to find some reverse-driving/punting jerks and maybe I'll beat them at their own game. Bwahaha!

When people always assume you hit them because your an ass, too many people don't seem to understand the term racing incident,
There are times when despite all your best efforts you CANNOT avoid an accident,
It happens to Seb Vettel, Mark Webber, Lewis Hamilton and the rest, it will occasionally happen to us.
Too many people assume your being a dick online the moment a bit of paint is traded,

With that said there are way too many people who believe the brake pedal is an optional extra/footrest.:ouch:

The online racism and bigotry is old, annoying and childish. That's much worse than hearing a 12yo rant about 12yo things unless that 12yo happens to be spewing the above remarks...

Whiners, the ones who cry about everything. I especially like it when they spin themselves out and always claim someone else spun them around.

Also the people who quit races as soon as they think they have no shot at winning. Very annoying and robs everyone else of XP/CR.

More funny to me than annoying ... but the guys who are real chatty until they get to the front then you don't hear anything from them, LOL.

I have a little story about this. I went into a Nurburgring room the other day which was 3 laps on Nurburgring 24 hour course. So everyone (~13 or 15 ppl I forget)is free running pretty well, smooth no wrecks, the host talks about everyone stay clean we will all have a good race make XP etc. And he turns on MAX damage. I figured no big deal this seems like a good group.

Race starts first turn first lap and some putz in last place never brakes and hits EVERYONE. Every single car got wrecked. My car was so bashed my steering wheel was upside down and I could barely keep it on the track. I am like hmm maybe I can stick it out... 15 miles with my car totally f'ed.

People start dropping like flies including the guy who punted everyone, and I make a comment over my mic like "man what a waste of time..." The room host proceeds to start cursing me out like a maniac telling me I don't know what I'm doing and all kinds of other stuff. So then I said "well I guess I'm just gonna drop this one" he calls me a bitch and a few more choice words, I'm like "whats your problem pal, someone else screwed up your room not me, its a waste of time and not fun whatsoever to have to drive this track at 80 mph with my car completely f'ed up." He kept cursing and screaming said I was some punk kid (I'm 30 btw). I just quit before it got worse.

I see what you're saying about not quitting because you're in last and i totally agree, but to have to try and do even 1 full lap of the ring like that before the car can get fixed in the pits is a joke.

Annoying thing for me is, is people going the wrong way and crashing into others on purpose. It's not funny to do at all :/

i think it's funny!!! :D but don't get me wrong i'm not one of the pepole that does that and it also annoyes the hell out of me :ouch:

Ramming into each other on straights. I see this in nearly every race...

When I host a room, I just disable the mic. I can't bare hearing people's voices going through my TV speakers...

All I want to hear are the sounds from the game and engines... that's all!

That is why I got a bluetooth mic; the chat only goes through the bluetooth and not my surround sound 👍
