I have to give credit to the Talbot-Lago, and in fact all of the Figoni et Falaschi bodied masterpieces. Though personally I've always found the Delahayes even prettier than the Talbot Lagos and Bugattis.

The RX-7 was up there for me too, and the supra. But they don't have the mix of hard AND soft lines that the C6 has.

It has to look feminine. Some lines are soft and curvy, others are hard and bony. It's an organic look.

Anyway good call on the RX-7. 👍

I picked the Testarossa, but if picking the racecar, it would've been Toyota GTOne. 👍
 
I'd say the Ferrari 312 T4 driven by Gilles Villeneuve. I can't get a pic of it cause gtplanet.net is being gay and won't let me upload one, but if someone could go find a good shot of a Ferrari 312 T4, you will see what I mean.


I'd say in a close second, would be the Ferrari 312T(driven by Lauda and Reggazoni), Ferrari 126C3, or the Renault RE20B. then again I like the Tyrrell 006. oh I could go on about classic F1 cars. go look them up and post pics, and plenty of them.

oh, for a road car, I'd say it's a close race between the Datsun 240Z, Porsche 911 2.8L RSR, Dauer 962, Ferrari 288GTO, Ferrari 250GTO, and Ferrari F40. ooh, and the Lancia Stratos, mmm. european sexiness....'cept the 240Z of course, heh.

The most beautiful car ever, to me, is the 1986 Ford Taurus, because it changed automotive design like no previous vehicle, with the possible exception of Ford's Model T. It was the rare case, the only case I can think of, where evolution made a leap rather than a slow transition. It was also beautiful because it virtually saved Ford Motor Company in the 1980s and it showed that America could compete after twenty years of trying. To me, the 1986 Ford Taurus is beautiful because it was perfect.

The best-looking car ever built is the Ferrari 456.

Most beautiful???? No way. Most important in the last 50yrs, totally. I think it might actually be illegal in some states to use "Ford Taurus" and "Beutiful" in the same sentence. :D

In all honesty, I wanted to choose the 300SL. Its always been my favorite car, and its still waaaay up on the list. But, when I saw the new Gallardo Spyder recently, I was smitten. That thing just exudes beauty and sexiness in large ammounts. Every angle, top up or down, the car looks amazing. I'm not usually one for calling new-age cars "beautiful" so soon in their life. But, that thing is just amazing.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I've always thought that a car was supposed to be the filter between you and the road. The Miata puts the least amount of car between the driver and the driving experience. It's not about the car or the engine, it's about you and the road. It's like wearing shades all the time and finally getting a decently clear pair of glasses. This is the closest to beautiful any car will get for me.

For a car to be perfect, it will have to be completely transparent and utterly quiet, but still go like stink around a corner. :D

I think original Ferrari GTO is a great pick. 👍 I liked Countach and DB9 as well. Now, a shameless plug to drum up support for my favorite. :D
