The most expensive advert yet.

...What a wonderful piece of advertising. We need to see more commercials like that in the US...

Is it just me, or did the early F1 cars sound better than the newer ones? Yes, I realize I'm insane...

Now I'm wondering if they will do one similar for Shell in the US with NASCAR, given their ties to RCR with Kevin Harvick...

That sound of the 07 car reminded me of when I went to a F1 race last year, it sounded sooo awesome.

I gotta admit though, that car from mid 70s, the one that looks like a Ferrari 312B of sorts with all those winglets, that one sounded breathtaking..

I was surprised the video didn't feature one of Villeneuve's Ferrari's like the 312T4 or 126C2.

That was pretty dissapointing to say the least. That no talent assclown of a German has 2 cars in there, while Gilles has none... I was expecting a 312T4 after the 312B, but no, the F399 pops up instead. Even an F195 would have been better.

I wonder how much of that was actually filmed. Some of it looked CG to me.

Awesome ad, it actually sort makes me want to buy Shell gas.
I always want to buy Shell gas, because it doesn't have ethanol (not in my area anyway). Unfortunately, my lazy side gets the better of me, because the two Shell stations on my side of town are too far out of the way of where I usually commute.

Great advertisment 👍

Insane? No no, I agree the older ones do sound better. Same with Australian Touring cars, the 93 Holden Commodore Group A sounds better than current V8 Supercars.

The 100 Octane Shell V power available in Australia has a Ethanol mix :indiff: (Only 5% I think though). I havent seen 100 octane V power available here yet but I buy the 98 RON Ethanol free. 👍

That was bloody amazing  the sound OMG!...... but they are trying to kind of copy the Honda advert where it looks back at its heritage (that amazing one which has all the key models they released). I can imagine going to all those places and having the sections of road shut must have costed so much... they even went all the way to Hong Kong!

Best.Ad.Evar.. Apart from the John West Salmon one with the Bear :p

I remember about a month ago a news story that they filmed apart of this in London, but I don't recall seeing it in that clip..

No that I care.. it was just as good

Shell doesn't offer 100 octane fuel where I live, we have to go to the "Official Fuel of NASCAR," Sunoco, to get it in Grand Rapids. I'll go to Shell because it is pretty close to my house, but they are usually a little more than the BP and Speedway stations I frequent, so it largely depends on where I am...

...Side note: When the Camaro is finished-off (hopefully in late June or early July), we will probably be filling her up with 100 octane Sunoco rather often. I should make a thread about the restoration process... But we haven't pulled her out of the barn yet...

I've never seen a gas station with 100 octane in Florida.

What other petroleum companies are or have been in F1 besides Mobil, Elf, and Shell?

Really? It seems like Sunoco and Union 76 offered it when we were down there... I know they do in states like Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, etc. Back when it was really cheap, we used to fill the van up with it just for fun when we were on vacation...

On the subject of other fuel companies in F1, doesn't BP do something with them? Or at least did at one point?

...Racing in America, for as long as I can remember, has been a fuel race between BP, Shell, Union 76, and Sunoco...

Well, BP used to be Amoco over here.

Is that Sunoco fuel 100 RON or PON?

I was referring to 100RON fuels (Australia goes by RON), US uses PON octane rating, so if you can get 100 PON that is pretty much racing fuel.

Our 100 octane (RON) is equal to roughly your 96 octane (PON), your 100 octane (PON) is equal to about our 105 octane (RON). 110RON (105PON)used to be available here and I bought it once but the government ended up banning it for street use, but there is a petrol station here that is also a speedshop which mixes it's own extra high octane fuel which you can still buy at the pump.

Chinese. It was in Hong Kong.

Anybody know where i can download an HD version of this? Or at least one with higher quality
To second Bubble Bunny, if anyone comes across a higher quality version of this awesome clip, please share! :)
