Following the Kaz words that standard cars are here to stay, I managed to get a full list of all standards and check the really important ones, IMO, and also check the repeated ones.

Its an Excel file, all the good ones in GREEN, all the repeated ones in RED, and the rest, unnecessary or useless (IMO) are left in white.

Feel free to download/edit/upload again :)

Why not put a standard car back in the game?

We do :(

It really isn't much to expect that a ps4 game does not recycle ps2 content
Yeah. At least Polyphony should do this:

All cars should have premium exteriors. With proper graphics, shine, etc. and the interiors have a low level interior. Not the whole "pitch black interior" thing but something like GRID Autosport.

That's impossible for every car. They need to let most of them go, those that stay will be made premium.

You're dreaming...

What are the must-have Standard cars?
  • All the race cars, including GT creations like the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II.
  • All the supercars.
  • All the serious sports cars, like the BMW M3 GTR.
  • All the lesser sports cars which can be converted into race cars for various leagues like the SCCA, BTCC and others. Cars like the Honda Civic, Ford Escort and Mazda Demio.
And that would be most of them.

I can't allow the S2000, RX-7 and MX-5 to be removed:
The normal S2000 have 10 kg less than Type V Version;
The RX-7 have differences in power of the engine (244, 278...)
The MX-5'93 have 980 kg, MX-5'95 have 1000 kg and MX-5'91 have 940 kg. PD puts Eunos and Miata because Eunos is known in Japan and Miata in America. MX-5 is know in Europe.

Well, GTO SR'96 could be removed as it has same power as '95 version.
GTO VR-4 Turbo: '95 has 302 HP and '96 has 303.
FTO GP-R version: '97 has 189 HP and '99 has 191 HP.
FTO GR'94 has 162 HP and '97 has 170 HP.
GPX'94 and GPX'99 could be removed to stick with GPX'97 version.
Skyline GT-R R32: '91 version weights 50 kg more than '89 version.
Skyline GT-R R33: '95 and '96 can be removed as we have already an premium car: '97 version. Same for V-Spec version. But not for V-Spec Limited and N1.
Skyline GT-R R34 MNP: MNP'99 is II and MNP'00 is III.
V-Spec and M-Spec can't be removed because M-Spec has Millenium Jade and V-Spec hasn't.
R34 V-Spec II can't be removed because it is the 2nd version of V-spec.
The normal GT-R R34 is 20 kg lighter than V-Spec (that model weights 1560 kg)

Honda NSX: '90 is important and Type R'92 version also. Type S'97 has 268 HP and Type S Zero'97 has 276 HP. NSX'95 is very important because it has 5 gears unlike the NSX'97 (the '97 version has 6 gears)

NSX Type S'01 is a different version from normal NSX'01. NSX Type R'02 is important.

S2000: S2000 US has an different front light from S2000 EU.

Mazda 110S: L10A has 105 HP and 940 kg and the L10B has 122 HP and 960 kg.

Honda Prelude: Type S'96 and Type S'98 are equals? No difference of power and neither the weight.

Honda Civic SiR: I think that '91, '92 and '93 are same models... But I doubt in colours...

My must have standard cars are every single of them! (Ex: Toyota MTRC, Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4,

I'm not so dogmatic on cars that are essentially the same vehicle. But as Harsk and others have posted, there are distinct differences among many of the cars. And even on those which are the same in Japan, America and Europe, consider this. Those of us who drive from roofcam, like me, or bumper or chase, there's no real difference. But for cockpit drivers, having the wheel on the side of the car they're used to matters quite a bit.

I don't know what Kaz ultimately plans for the Standards, as no one wants them to remain low poly models forever. We want every car and track to be full Premium glory, but that's just not realistic in the short term. Whether a heavy super-Standardization program, a light tesselized facelift with a black/darkish interior and new skins, I really want those cars to be there for me to race. Speaking of racing... :D

All generations of muscle cars and pony cars, maybe except few lame generation, with Challanger SRT8 Hellcat as a topping.
Mazda Eunos Cosmo, Toyota Soarer (all generations), JDM large sedan from the 90's: Chaser, Mark II, Verossa, Crown Royal, Crown Athelete, Aristo, Leopard, Cima, etc.

Ford Falcons and Holden Commodore, lots of them.

Panoz LMP's both of them , especially the first one. Very unique (by arhitecture) and fast car.

All the touring cars from BTCC golden years Alain Menu's Renault Laguna, Ricard Rydell Volvo S40 and 850...Primera, Monedo, A4, 406...

More british sports cars like Marcos, Ginetta (more recent models especially), ...

De Tomaso, Maserati, Bugati EB 110, Hennessey Venom...

Pre-war cars.
All BMW 3 series generation. (The only German car i truly love)

So maximum differences in weight of 60kg (which can be adjusted for by ballasts or weight reductions) and hp differences of ~10hp, which can be adjusted for by engine mods or power limiter... The differences just really aren't significant enough for them to matter, plus do you really care that much about the cars headlights...?
Edit: not to mention they can also just have special colour options such as for the skylines, which will give the car a different name in races, but won't take up an extra space in the dealership

Dakar and Baja cars as well as a 3 km wide track and 50 km long, with checkpionts and various routes through the desert dunes.

If they did nothing else but add a first generation mitsubishi eclipse gsx, i would still buy the game... Please add a 1994 eclipse gsx!!
