The MUST HAVE (GT7) STANDARD CAR thread

I've posated this before but I'll say it again. What I'd really like to see is for PD to focus on upgrading all the race cars to at least Superstandards with high definition skins. Then, those sports cars and supercars which are associated with racing, which technically is about all of them. But there are a bunch of notorious sports and supercars which are used quite a bit as race cars. I'd recommend a list like this, including racing variations:
  • The Aston Martins
  • More BMWs
  • More Chevrolet like the Camaro and Corvette
  • Numerous Fords from the Focus to Mustangs
  • Many Hondas such as Civics and Accords, a few more S2000s
  • The Jaguars
  • More Mazdas such as the Miatas and RX7s
  • More Mercedes-Benzs
  • Nissans such as the 240SXs and 300ZXs
  • Oullim Spirra
  • The Panozs
  • More Peugeots
  • The RUFs
  • Saleen S7
  • The TVRs
  • The Vipers
  • More Volkswagens
  • The Volvos
They could begin with one or two of each, and then work their way through the Standard list as they go.

I'm perplexed why, in the OP, there are just random JGTC cars plucked as wanted or useless.

Speaking of unusual car architecture, like the Panoz is, there's also the 1983 Adams Escort Can-Am racer, with the engine on one side and the driver and other parts on the other, for similar weight distribution:

This would be nice too: 1964 Abarth 2000 OT Berlina Monstro. Low weight, 204 hp/7600 rpm; top speed over 250 km/h. Like an old days Clio V6

The Group C car that never reached the track. I wonder if Alfa-Romeo would borrow it for tests...
1990 Alfa-Romeo SE 048 SP Group C, powered by a Ferrari V12 form Formula One.

This is for cars already in the game.
Sorry. I have misread.
The Panoz GTR-1 would be my top of the list choice, in this case...

PS: It all started with the discussion of the 90's Touring cars, so i got enthusiastic. Sorry again.

For me personally, I don't want to see any upgraded or otherwise standard cars in GT7, it's already a laughing stock right now. I use cockpit view only and so standard cars are simply unacceptable. I would love to see across the board quality and consistency from GT7, needless to say, I'm not holding my breath.

I am, however, looking very much forward to playing Project CARS and The Crew on PS4. Not really looking forward to Gran Turismo 7 sadly.

I can't allow the S2000, RX-7 and MX-5 to be removed:
The normal S2000 have 10 kg less than Type V Version;
The RX-7 have differences in power of the engine (244, 278...)
The MX-5'93 have 980 kg, MX-5'95 have 1000 kg and MX-5'91 have 940 kg. PD puts Eunos and Miata because Eunos is known in Japan and Miata in America. MX-5 is know in Europe.

Well, GTO SR'96 could be removed as it has same power as '95 version.
GTO VR-4 Turbo: '95 has 302 HP and '96 has 303.
FTO GP-R version: '97 has 189 HP and '99 has 191 HP.
FTO GR'94 has 162 HP and '97 has 170 HP.
GPX'94 and GPX'99 could be removed to stick with GPX'97 version.
Skyline GT-R R32: '91 version weights 50 kg more than '89 version.
Skyline GT-R R33: '95 and '96 can be removed as we have already an premium car: '97 version. Same for V-Spec version. But not for V-Spec Limited and N1.
Skyline GT-R R34 MNP: MNP'99 is II and MNP'00 is III.
V-Spec and M-Spec can't be removed because M-Spec has Millenium Jade and V-Spec hasn't.
R34 V-Spec II can't be removed because it is the 2nd version of V-spec.
The normal GT-R R34 is 20 kg lighter than V-Spec (that model weights 1560 kg)

Honda NSX: '90 is important and Type R'92 version also. Type S'97 has 268 HP and Type S Zero'97 has 276 HP. NSX'95 is very important because it has 5 gears unlike the NSX'97 (the '97 version has 6 gears)

NSX Type S'01 is a different version from normal NSX'01. NSX Type R'02 is important.

S2000: S2000 US has an different front light from S2000 EU.

Mazda 110S: L10A has 105 HP and 940 kg and the L10B has 122 HP and 960 kg.

Honda Prelude: Type S'96 and Type S'98 are equals? No difference of power and neither the weight.

Honda Civic SiR: I think that '91, '92 and '93 are same models... But I doubt in colours...

My must have standard cars are every single of them! (Ex: Toyota MTRC, Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4,

I have a different view, which will be seen when I upload my edited version of the xml

All of the race cars/Motorsport cars and Supercars/sports cars. Screw the rest. The standard cars better all be given an upgrade to premium.

If they take away my 190E 2.5-16 evo II I will be deeply unhappy. Others I really want them to keep include the MK1 GTI and the 98' mini cooper. Personally, I'd rather them keep the standards than lose hundreds of cars.

Not that there is much of an argument to be had as it seems they will be staying.

I see the issue of duplicates more of a problem than anything.
For instance the Honda 2000: All that can kept is one AP1 and AP2 model, and maybe the Type S?
The NSX: The NA1 (normal, Type R and maybe throw in the Type S Zero) And for the NA2, a Normal one along with the Type R.
As for the MX-5s Probably 1 model for each face lift? (ex. The '91 version, 98 and 04 version.)

I believe that they should keep at least one or two models of each and make them Premium. Just like what they did to the Lancer Evo VI. I believe in GT5 there was only 1 premium model. But In GT6 they made the VI T.M (without the stripe), and the RS premium models since they're all the same car. So the same principle should apply to cars like the Supra RZ and SZ-R.

You forgot Type S for NA2, 93 and 95 version for Miata.

Other than Mustangs?.............Buick GNX, Saleen S7, Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, Callaway....quite a few actually.

Don't throw away the Type S Zero!!!! The Type S Zero is the facelift version!

Do not throw away the duplicates, please! Please convert them to the trim options in just one car, instead!

This should have been done for the base models at least. Its funny. We get separate models for those yet, the base models get two paint chip choices of matte or white. Why not separate car models of matte and white? That would up the car count.

Paint chips are their saving grace from the duplicate thing. Is it really important to have 3 Z33 Roadsters? Two are rhd with different names and one is lhd drive sharing the same name. All 3 have the same colors with only 1 having different names for the colors. When was the only and last time I used one of these cars? The GT4 Coffee Break?
