The El Nino on NFS3. That car's acceleration was blindingly fast and it could reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 230 mph!

I liked all NFS's till the underground series. At first, i thought it was a nice addition to mod cars and have all that freedom and junk, but after i found out that you need to rice your car for the bling points, it became VERY dumb. I think NFSMW offers the best of both worlds. You can mod and rice your car however you want it, yet you can also leave it alone, and you don't HAVE to do jack**** to it either, unlike the Underground ones. I'd like to mod my cars the way I want it, not the way the crowd wants it in order for me to score "bling" points.
GT4 is nice and all, but their complete lack of bodykits and ANY customization gets boring after a while. I'm only 63% done with GT4, and i'm already drooling after NFSMW. Hopefully, future NFS games will strike the ideal balance between supercars and speed, and customization.

NFS 1 SE - for PC - Loved the simplicity of that game, great fun tracks and cars....and police!

NFS 3 - for PC - Was ok... good cars and tracks but didnt really do it for me.

NFS HP2 - for PS2 - Still my favorite NFS game... liked the back to basics seen in the original NFS... liked the supercars without the need of heav customisation.... pursuit mode was so much fun and the graphics really impressive...played it last nite!

NFS U - for PS2 - Hated it, was not all that great on the console, didnt really like the cars, tracks or story lines.

NFS MW - for PC - Its quite good have to say, mixing underground with hot pursuit worked well... the police ai is much better and more fun, they have brought back the cool supercars, dont really like the idea of the storyline but its ok.... graphics are really amazing, sound is impressive...

BUT.... I wish MW was a remake of HP2..... I still think HP2 had the best mix but that my own opinion.... I hope that they go more back to pure racing with some cops for the PS3..

How about this, they leave the engine mods, and drop the gay NOS and all the rice you can put on your car. :)

It would be nice to have engine mods and suspension mods, the game would be better then PGR.

but then it wouldn't be need for speed anymore.

You guys are missing the point once again. Need for speed is not targeted for pro racers, its made for guys who dig bodykits and paintjobs on hot cars of the moment.

If its not your cup of tee, just don't play the thing and move on. EA or any other co. will not change their product and gameplay mechanics because you feel 'need for speed sucks'. The license hasn't changed that much, the only difference is you can now make visual and engine modifications to your car, instead of having a stock car to race with. nothing's changed since hot pursuit 1... and it'll never as long as millions purchase the product.

don't like it = move on.

Bull... ****!!!

I take it you've never actually PLAYED any of the original NFS games. You know, the ones that had actual TRACKS to race on instead of driving through a heavily-populated city? I'll take that ANY DAY over what they've done with their last three games, which are NOTHING like what came before.

Nothing's changed, you say? Look again, bub... EVERYTHING'S changed.

The MW and Underground games is not even Need for Speeds real roots, Need for speed was based around not tuning or modding your car. While getting chased by cops, at different times in the day.

While not being placed in the same county aka State.

NFS:HP2 had the ferraris and spme nice lengths of track plus a reasonably challenging level of harrassment . All it needs is for it to be ported to the PS3 , a graphics upgrade BUT KEEP THE MODELS and add one or two new ones . Killer!

yeah, on most wanted, you can get a carerra gt! but not on gt4! i wish you could have an sl65 on nfsmw, oh wait! you can on the black special edition which im gettin!

I don't know about you guys but one of my favorite things was that guy (I call him Radio Guy lol!) who told you about the car before you bought it - the guy with the radio voice! I thought that was awesome and well done! Where is he now?

I loved HP the most.
I agree. Hot Pursuit 2 was the best IMO.
I didnt mind NFS:underground 1 and 2 but I did not like Most wanted at all for the xbox or the xbox360. The 360 had better graphics but I still couldnt get into it.

i'm the opposite... i understand why everyone is saying Hot Pursuit 2 was the best, but looking back at it (i installed my copy) its not that good. The game is not 'sandbox', which makes Most Wanted a lot better in terms of Pursuit 'survival'.

Perharps the big 'most wanted' story is too much, as it is the basic gameplay orientation of the game, but still, the game is very fun. And now there are no super neons and speakers to put into your ride... which makes it better. You can make custom paints and add some nice bodykits, but the main aspect is component upgrades and racing. And getting chased by the cops.

Its basically Hot Pursuit 2 on steroids...

Overall, i think you guys would be disapointed in a Hot Pursuit 3 if its to be the same as the second installement of the Hot Pursuit series... too limited.

I really like Most wanted, its stylish and fun and extremely fast and hard.

NFS HP2 for PS2 was brilliant, that damn helicopter though, sometimes you wished you could hit it and bring it down, bloody thing was like the tardis with all them barrel bombs and aaaaaah the heat seeking turn on a dime missles.

Ahhh good times.

NFS need's to go back to NFS, no tuning, exotic cars, exotic tracks and psycho police. Man I loved hitting high speeds and having the cops comment on it, MW does have supreme cop radio speech though.

Have you ever played HP2 on PS2? It's the best version of the game, since it was made by a different producer than the PC and Xbox versions. I have both the PC and PS2 version, and you can tell the quality difference between them.

By far the best NFS game is NFS 5 porsche unleashed (2000). Sure it doesnt have all the typesof exotics, but the gameplay and the non-rice modifications and teh sounds,
OMG the sound of each porsche is spot on. Even the physics were incredible. Now the nfs games are all show and no go. I was playing it the other day and i chose a stock lexus Is300....sorry but the actual lexus does not sound like it has an unrestricted exhast system in stock form.

my 2p

So, of all the NFS games, NFS HP2 is "the one" to own? I always wanted a NFS game, but never got one. I was waiting for the "It" version that everyone had to own, but it never came.

i owned "Road And track presents the need for speed: the special edition" as well as hot pursuit, high stakes, hot pursuit 2, underground2, and Most wanted.

I actually enjoy Most wanted :) i just wish it had ferrari, honda, more cars basicly and more mods. I keep most of my cars looking close to stock but its nice to know i can change the look if i want. :) Most wanted has some really nice graphics. i really like the sun glare effect and textures, rain effects... i hope Gran turismo 5 has something similar but less exagerated.

i like how they dont force you to rice out your car in most wanted :)

Need for speed 1 and 2 were amazing... Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 1 and 2 were also very good... Hot Pursuit 2 is definitely the best PS2 NFS game, in my opinion...

Most wanted is alright, but the physics are too arcadey even for a NFS game, and even though they don't force you to rice out your car, they don't give you any modification options that aren't "ricey" so you're forced to just not modify (aesthetically) your car... Not to mention, once you get a bit into the game you realize just how repetitive the game is...

;)

i owned hot pursuit 2... but it wasnt very fun imo... i think the old ones i played most were the original and high stakes.

No one forces you to add visual and NOS mods, all the rice... I race perfectly fine without them. NFS:MW is the best I've played, it has free roam (so you can just drive and drive), awsome cars, good customization (I don't use the body kits, but if I wanted to for ****s and giggles. I could) and addicting gameplay. It's good!

That was a rumor, and was debunked as false. EA has released no information whatsoever on what the next NFS game will be.

If they do end up making yet another Underground rehash, I will be very, VERY disappointed. The PS3 needs at least one real NFS game before they go back to the crap.

Most Wanted isn't an Underground rehash.

Uh.. yeah, it is. As long as they keep up with the whole "Illegal Street Racing" thing, it'll continue to be Underground-esque. You didn't think I was referring soley to the worthless mods, did you? I could give a rat's ass about the mods. I miss real racing. Driving around a city just ain't the same thing as driving an actual lap-based race course. Go play Hot Pursuit 2, then Underground, then Most Wanted, and then tell me which one Most Wanted is more like. It's a helluva lot closer to Underground than Hot Pursuit 2.

And before you ask, yes, I've played them all.

Hot Pursuit also is about illegal street racing, with tons of cops. MW is closer to HP because you don't have to rice your car like in Underground, and there are much faster exotics in MW than in Underground anyway. It's like HP but in an open city and more ricing possibilities.

No, HP2 was just based around racing supercars on fantasy tracks that didn't go anywhere.

Most Wanted was just Underground with a little HP2 thrown in to "please" the HP2 fans which they really didn't.

Here's an idea. Keep the Free-Roam cities, add the HP2 game style.

Here is an idea, put tracks in a city where you could set lap times, and ditch the tunner market(it was cool for a short time)go back to the insanely priced supercars(for god sake its called Need For Speed=needs to be fast, blindingly fast, give you kids vision problems FAST!)oh and NFS1,2 and 4 were my favs.
