The new Ferrari F1 challenge is awesome!

When I first saw the F1 races I wasn't excited because the FGT is probably the least fun car to drive in the game. Man was I excited when I first got my F2007 on the track! It drives like a dream! My only question is...Why does the FGT suck so bad in comparison? Isn't it supposed to be better since it is unrestricted? Why is it not a premium car when you need it to complete A and B Spec? Why are the Ferrari F1 cars the only ones that we can't use?

I use the DS3 (I have a wheel, but I'm still getting used to it and I'm better with the DS3) and all I did was put soft racing tires on and set the brake balance to F4 R1 (like the FGT). That allowed for late breaking/slight oversteer around corners and that's when I was able to easily overtake the AI in all of the races.

Indy is the best course for grinding because it's the shortest by about .5 miles and the AI brakes way too early after the long straight (and on most the other corners after straights). Also, the AI trannies max out at about 220mph, so set yours a little higher and you can gain some more time out on the oval. If I don't spin out or go off track I'm winning by 10+ seconds (and I'm not driving that good).

Hopefully PD continues to provide us with more content for these awesome cars (or a patch that allows them in the rest of the game like the 1000+ other cars!!).

Hello all,

Just for me to know about this event before grinding money to have the F1, how much credit and XP do we get for each race ?

Thanks ;-)

Sorry guys, I found it so I will go for grinding money as XP rewards look greats.

I am a FGT fanatic cause I like the look and sound of the car and I like how it handles too. Anyways I've been grinding lately to get to 10 mill to get a Ferrari F1. Haven't decided which one to get though. I know one is 10 mill and the other is 12.5 mill. I'm so sick of the Dream Car Championship LOL.

Its a fantastic event which you can race against Ferrari F1 cars (F10 used). Didn't bothered doing the FGT championship.

I actually watched the replay of the Indy Road course race just for the sounds these cars make.

hell yes, i saved my GP/F replay

so much fun - the AI could still be a bit more advanced though, they brake SO early sometimes I would just crush into them

Still probably the best event I've raced yet

Very much so - The handling is much more acute, and they don't go quite as fast as the FGT so you have more control over your corners I think

With a DFGT the downforce of the F2007 is palpable. You can brake at the 50m boards and throw it into the corner with absolute confidence.

I love the F2007 and I love those races, so much fun. I did Indy and Nurburgring GP/F with the controller out of laziness as I didn't feel like hooking up the wheel and won both without braking a sweat. I actually spun out couple of times in each and still managed to win. Tokyo was a different story though, especially the last few twisties before the straight, I feel it just requires precision that is hard to achieve with the controller and I was a little drunk at this point too :D. So I busted out the G27 and it was like shooting fish in the barrel.

WE NEED MORE OF THOSE EVENTS, PLEASE ADD THEM TO A-SPEC!

Just bought the F10 and to be honest I dont like it that much. Kinda a pain driving at Tokyo with a bunch of other F1 cars right on you. Easy for mistakes.

It is too easy, just like the FGT, with a wheel though, but a lot of fun, and more fun then the FGT since i think that the competition is a little harder here, or the cars are more equal, Since i haven't changed that much on the setup for my F10.

Started grinding since thrusday. A little here and there. Went from 1.8 mil to 10 mil last night. Got the f10.
tokyo was a blast. Got first early on and was cool. I like this track.
had harder time with nur GP. No cheating the chicane. First time got 3rd. Spun and sand trapped. Then first after restarting the second race once
gonna play indy later.

So you can only play with these on this event and online. Can you pllay with these in arcade. A spec would be great

Was fun

Just luckily been given the Ferrari F1 07 for finishing the b spec series, will try the event tonight

Too dang easy. The first time I did R246 I'll admit I was mid-pack, but it was the first race with the F1 2007 car. After that it was a snooze fest. Play with the DS3 and I'm getting 1st with no difficulty. The collision physics are terrible - taps on the rear quarters don't induce spins like real life racing, deceleration due to high downforce once you lift off the throttle is non-existent (I've got downforce on the max), AI is terrible, too much low speed grip. If you play with these cars too long you'll develop bad behavior in other F1 games and be out of control. I know they can't make everything perfect, but the open wheel car mechanics (AI, handling, etc) are like they've always been in GT - arcadey.

Heads up: do not bother buying any tyres for the F'10 (and I am guessing the F'07 as well), you will be wasting your money. Your choice is stock tyres only ie RH, RI or Rain. No matter what the menus says, you are using RHs - if you do not believe me try using CHs.

I have to say, this is a fantastic event. F2007 is so fun to drive and payouts for races are nice. Great XP bonus and not that nice but still ok Cr bonus.

+1 for the f2007 being so much fun to drive

But I don't care about the payout, 150k of lvl 30 and I can almost smell the X1

Just for anyone who is considering which car to buy for these events, it is much easier to win with the F2007 than the F10. I did all three races with both cars. Races were still pretty easy, but the F10 is more of a challenge.

And those that haven't played if u get a f2007 u race all f2007. And f10 u race f10's

Won all 3 races but had to put racing soft tires... will try again later with the stock racing hard tires. I had lot's of fun with these Ferrari F1 races!

I think you wasted 36,000 cr on RS (see my earlier post). I did extensive testing on all compounds from CH through to RS and found very little difference in lap times at Tokyo. eg regular 1.14s laps on Comfort. Sports & racing tyres, and they were all 'casual' rather than 'going for it' laps. Despite what the menu says I believe the F1s run on RH all the time, unless you select RI or Rain. Try running CHs and you will see what I mean.

I just tried the last 2 races on RH, and won them with a 2-3 second lead, so you are right, I think I kind of panicked the first time around when I bought the RS :-)

Yeah it's great fun. It took me some time to get used to the ferrari formulas and on the different tracks but completed the events with no change to the set up except turning off all the aids.

Would one of you guys who is saying how easy this is please post your full tuning for the F10 using the pad controller and default buttons? I've searched the tuning forum with no luck and most on hear are only giving bits and pieces of their settings. I've only done Tokyo and having trouble getting it right.

While it is a bit too easy to win the races, it; such great fun to race 11 other cars that are exactly the same.

If you're finding it too easy, drop the tyres to Sports Hard on the F2007. I just won the Tokyo with this setup with a margin of < 1 second. I use the G27 and found it incredibly hard to stop the car from sliding out. Well worth the challenge.
