Hell yes Kaz!This is what I've been waiting for :D a decent seasonal!
Altho' some of the tracks don't make sense for the Ferrari F1's(Nurburgrin wtf lol),it feels like a new A-Spec event, really awesome if you ask me :D I hope we get some similar seasonals(LeMans racing,Tarmac Rally challenges anyone?:D)

This week's Seasonal is great, undoubtedly. However, there have also been many great Seasonals in the past, but the ones following that returned to normal. Crap, garbage, pointless.

haha that's why I made this thread :p GT5 used to have some amazing seasonals, but PD got lazy along the way and all they were doing was A/B-Spec booooooooooooooooooring challenges and time/drift trials
Finally a good one :dopey:

Nice seasonal for some vehicles which didn't have enough races to be raced inn but we need more races in tracks with changing weather conditions and fuel & tire wearing (Spa is missing... WHY?????????)

👍

Longer races and maybe even Shuffle events?

It purely subjective to say it is a step in the right direction.

I don't like driving the Ferrari F1 cars, I'd rather race low powered cars.
Personally I thought the 600 pp races with different car layouts (FF, FR or 4WD) are the way to go.
specially with the lower PP bonus.

But that is just my personal opinion.
;)

👍 Same here.

For me, all of the A-Spec Seasonals needed to have their PP restrictions adjusted. 650PP is a bit too high. 400PP is a bit high. 500PP is a bit low. All this time we were getting these types of races and there were a lot of cars that were unusable, because they're either too good to qualify for the race or not good enough to win. As examples, I don't think there was a time I was able to use a Ferrari or Lamborghini in those Seasonal Events.

More Manufacturer events/races would be cool.

Just so you all know this is the second seasonal event for F1 cars, I will say I am happy since I love driving my F2007 (which I seldom get to do) but I don't remember everyone getting excited about the last one? Maybe we just needed 6 months of "iffy" ones to show us how good the "damn good" ones really are! :) good job PD!

You know what the best seasonal is?

One that is different from the others. In other words, I dont care what they are, as long as there is variety. In my opinion, all of the seasonals since the performance adjustment bonus started have been good, becuase they were all different (ie required a variety of cars).

Now, all we need is to get rid of the one rabbit car in each grid that is ~10sec faster than the rest of the AI

This is the same 5 tracks on the f1 seasonal as the last f1 seasonal series like a year ago. Of course its better now with the performance difference and tire restrictions. Its good to get it back so these cars have some use again.

I kind of expect the next race seasonals to be the in the same order as all the seasonals taken down with 2.00. Forgot which one is next but so far ff/fr/4wd/f1 have used the same tracks/laps as there older brothers of the same type. Anyone expecting a MR seasonal will likely be waiting until all these recycled seasonals are thrown back in first.

There are still many unused cars that fit in the 450-500pp and 550-600pp category. These new seasonals are nice, but I want to be able to use my M3, M5, my Vipers, Corvettes, my Lambos, Ferraris and I've barely been able to use my Aston Martin Vantage V12, Lamborghini Aventador, Zondas and such.

Please, PD. Events with a more usable PP range.

I don't see the step in the right direction. We already had this seasonal before. Also this time they failed to create a consistent seasonal (no Spa, no Monza, no Suzuki, no Monaco, no weather change), that would show someone at PD knows anything about f1 racing.

The Eiffel track is the worst track I ever driven in a ferrari f1 car because it's a place that is nothing but makes you mad every time when you want gold and you keep messing up

The nordsheilfe was used for F1 some years ago. Nikki Lauder had his horrific crash on the Nordshleife. So there is a lot of history using this track for F1.

But yes would be nice if they used all the F1 curcuits of today.

How's the difficulty? Still as easy as the previous seasonals?
Sorry, but I can't check it by myself cause my internet at home isn't working.

👍

Nick Heidfed did it in 2007

 how is this a step in the right direction? Over 1000 cars in the game and we can only use...two?!? Oh well, I'll enjoy past seasonals and hope the next one has some variety :indiff:

ai is sooo stupid its not even funny... stil past all of them on ne try last night with no aids on a pad with abs @ 1 and running 850 pp

I am so bummed. I finally get a day off, no kids, about to dedicate my day to GT5, only to find out my Internet is down. It's my own fault (I use my neighbor's wifi).

Why u no pay bill??!!

I really wanted to try this new seasonal too

So get your own interwebs. Stop mooching.

Yeah, the Nordschleife was an almost permanent fixture in the F1 season between 1950 and 1970. Then the cars were getting too fast for the circuit, so they had to make changes.
Believe it or not, between 1970 and 1976 they removed a lot of jumps, bumps, corners etc. and added in a chicane and a few other corners to slow things down in places; all of which effectively made it less challenging (although much safer, of course.)
Here's a partial lap from around 1962, excellent German coverage of the 1964 GP here.

If you want to mix up the seasonals to make more cars available there are ways to do it. Weight restrictions would be a good idea. If you make the Min weight 1400 kgs for example you knock out all the cars that dominate the TT's in the open PP arrangements.

You could set up TT's so that you have to use a fixed HP and weight which would further reduce the cars available but promote cars not otherwise seen in TT's.

Using a max engine limiter would also help to eliminate the cars that dominate the TT's.

There are ways to do it, PD just doesn't care enough to put even a moment's thought into it.

I'm sure they've thought about it, but thinking about changes, implementing changes and then committing those changes to a given build and releasing that build are not the same thing.

Best seasonal ever was that one with the fiat, Subaru and some other car. Hardest seasonal ever and created soo many threads about how to beat it. I haven't tried this one yet but mixing some super hard perfect tune/skill seasonals make it so much more fun. Gets people playing all the time since they must beat it and wit stop until they do.

Is this another catch the rabbit scenario though or is it a real race with all starting from a standing start?

That is what is needed, this rabbit stuff is old regardless of what cars we're able to use.
