It was called the SP. Only 100 produced.
massive collectors item here, still sells for close to what it was new(50kAUD).

probably the best time to buy it though tbh because you can see that going up badly in another 10 years.

Did the size thing today:

Really is very little in it. New car's arse looks a bit bigger, but the rest of it is within spitting distance of the NA.

I did the shop-window-reflection test too. Looks mega. In this colour particularly. Looks so much more expensive than previous MX-5s. The great thing about that is that it's not more expensive, inflation etc adjusted.

Center exhausts might be popular with this car.

Other than that.....no. :yuck:

Thankfully you can order the center exhaust separately. I kinda like the diffuser too.

Not sure about the aero kit as a whole. Those angles aren't flattering either - they all come together to make the car look under-wheeled and over-bottomed.

I suspect nothing more than wheels and a slight drop would make the new car look perfect.

Who was it that had the mazdaspeed inside info? PM me.

Anyway, this blue color looks awesome:

It looks like aizome indigo. It has sort of that greenish patina like an old kendogi.

Isn't that the same blue as the ones used on the other recent Mazda models here (Reflex Blue)?

Looks awesome. Reminds me of Honda's Suzuka Blue, which will be the color of my S2000.

The headlights look different and the indicatoers are higher than the render. The side vents look taller nd stop before the door.

I think the entire front end of that render is off considerably. You can see the shape of the nose pretty well in the camo'd shots, and to me it looks to have scalloped headlight forms and a protruding grill, like the original 124.

Also, there is little, if any, evidence of side vents. And I'm not sure why they would be there in the first place.

in the bottom pic that @R1600Turbo posted, just before the door, look like a scallop vent as the wind depressing on the fender. Could just be the mask.

I was excited for the Fiat just because of the turbo power, but considering how bulky the front/rear look, I have a feeling this car is not really going to be a looker.

From what I recall, the NDs running camo looked bulky too. I'd love a new 124.

Maybe the camo is really effective, but it does seem like the proportions are not nearly as nice as on the MX-5.

That's what I thought of the MX-5. The test mule was hideous. Then, seeing how tall the wheels and tyres were(probably the NC's 17s[no pun intended]), the ride height is way high. I think that is what we are seeing here with the prototype.

Those have to be most crooked and awkward renders ever.. Fiat 500L headlights? Scoop from Mini? For real?

The 1.5 would be my choice. I'd just add some steel wheels and wait for some fruity induction and exhaust kit to become available.

I'm ordering my 1.5 as soon as I know yellow is available. If not, second choice will be Ceramic White and wrapped in a Mazda Yellow. Other than that, it'll be pretty much stock. It's all I need. I can't wait.

There's just so much joy from extracting all of an engine's output. Better that in a sports car than having to reign it in everywhere because you'll quickly be getting into silly speeds.
