Oh right, I didn't know they were different units. I wonder much the MultiAir engine can be tuned before reliability is sacrificed, hopefully at least to the same level to the T-Jet.

Not sure depends on the size of the Turbo and considering they have not gone any higher for a while I think that might be it.
The Abarth 124 is the same engine as the standard just with a larger turbo and they are very good engines, much prefer them than sky active but im a bit biased.

Does that come with a 3 year warranty? :sly:
Dont remember tbh but it aint cheap anyway, unless one considers 40+k cheap

EDIT: checked their site out of interest

Engine and gearbox reliability
Is the reliability of the engine or transmission compromised?
No, because the engines that equip the modern cars are designed to carry more hp than original power. The original power output is also conditioned by the different fuel types available in Europe.

Warranty on the control unit
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes, we offer a three year warranty on the electronic upgrade and two years on the additional modules.

-> Let me get this straight, is this 124 Abarth under Fiat (like a Fiat 500 we have in the US) or a completely separate entity/bespoke version of the Abarth (kinda) away from Fiat (like the 2000 Sport Spider).

Abarth produces cars under its own brand but is a fully owned subsidiary of FCA. Think of it as a high performance subdivision, such as Mercedes-AMG.

To be honest i expected it to look much more aggresive especially going by what they said, i prefer the render of the photo i posted a few pages back. I believe the rally version has the Alfa 4c engine which they shoulda put in the spider too imo, especially at 30k

Sorry for being a noob, but my question is: why this abarth 124 doesn't have a separate thread? but it is in a "MX5 miata" thread? since it is a different car and it seems like its news and discussion are enough for a new thread? thanks

No hard feelings though, this 124 car is surely not bad, but was expecting mx5 news when open this thread.

For the same reason the BRZ/FRS/GT86 is one thread.

I rode in a new Miata in stock form a few days ago. It felt really snug, but it was comfortable, and seemed like a lot of fun, or at least as much fun as you can have and think it would be from the passenger seat.

-> Stumbled this on Carscoops:

^ I like that luggage rack, so classic! I hope it will fit on the MX-5's trunk lid.
So much going on by way of different lines and shapes in that particular car.
Get some sternos and a t-bone. Parking lot barrrrr-beeeeeee-quuuuue.

Madza has carbon fiber luggage rack for MX-5. They mentioned it last year on their accessories concept but didn't show it on the car but they had it in the display case.

I found some pics of it on the MX-5

Good design for a backpack.

The wheel design on both(124 & MX-5) cars would look better in a 15"x7" 0r 15"x7.5"

Nope. It's same car so duplicate thread isn't necessary.
How about adding the Fiat to the title like the BRZ/FRS thread?

I know I didn't pay attention to this thread for a while and missed a lot of the details about the Fiat, since I figured this was just for the Miata.
