Running 200, 400 and unlimited Kent? I'd say Civic, NSX-R @ 356bhp, NSX-R @ 461bhp. Why? :P

I prefer bhp class to drivetrain class myself. Is this some kind of opinion collecting for TCv4?

I honestly think that FWD can hang with RWD in the 200 class. FWD cars tend to be lighter and can corner every bit as quickly as RWD IF they can get traction. RWD's main advantage is handling more power without excessive wheelspin.

I most likely would have wound up with a stock-motor DC2 Integra for 200, my RX-8 for 400, and probably a 5-600hp FD for unlimited.

Thats a big change in rules there. But as RJ said FF and RWD should be an even match in 200ltd. class. So will it be just 200, 400, and unlimited, instead of FF, AWD, and RWD. If so I guess I kinda like the idea.

I can see one major flaw in bhp classes though.

A 200bhp Elise will destroy any FF in its class.

The 400 and unlimited classes will be quite close, but bare in mind what cars have less than 200bhp and handle better than most cars out there.

Switching TvC4 to more of a "BMI: Hot Version" type of setup would be interesting, definately something I'd be up for as far as Judging is conserned (what can I say ?, I have respect for those drivers, love to have their job someday)

But it's not like this competition isn't close enough in some area's :scared:

Anyways, I'm close to finishing my testing, I should have scores, reviews, award and battle nominations up sometime tomorrow

Also, looking for another car again, this time for 4WD, the Daihatsu Sirion x4 (j) '00 from dimplz, I once again don't see it in the game or listed in my official guide, Is it another PAL/NTSC issue or am I blind ? :nervous:

Now that I think about it, my Fire Blade would probably be a slaughterer too.

NTSC version will have the Daihatsu Storia X4 instead of the Sirion. 👍

Wow I just looked at the MFT shop layout.., Its pretty freaken sick!!!

Edit: By the way ho do I create a single post?

Right-click on the #XXX up in the top right corner of the post you want to link to and hit "copy link location". Paste that in to link to it.

I'll guess that Mafs has PAL vesion of the game? I've heard Greycap imply a few times that NTSC (the version I use) and PAL occasionally have different gear ratio ranges, but the limitations are usually subtle and nearly meaningless. In this escpecially dramatic esample, however, I can't get within a tenth of most of your gears. Either way, I just found out that I must help my father at work tomorrow, the time that I previously put aside for judging FF, so I regret to say that I cannot judge this divison, as I had promised. I am very sorry, and will try to judge either RWD or 4WD divisions to compensate.

Let me ask you guys something...
How would you change your entries if the categories were not fwd, awd, rwd... What if they were something like 200, 400, unlimited (in refference to hp, and very relaxed about exact numbers)?
All classes running together with more similar touge rules... Such as two cars running similar times being decided on a variety of totally subjective rules. Examples like the recent Spoon FD2 .v J's S2K show that a loss at the line isn't always a loss at the podium and obvious disadvantages like FWD can play an important roll in grading compared to cars of same class.

Touge 300 showdown goes through 3 sudden death matches!!! (or was it four?) :boggled:

200hp- Alfa Romeo Spider (The old school one)
400hp- Probably a GM V8 of some description to get a massive torque advantage
Unlimited- Something MR to contain wheelspin I guess without inducing much understeer from AWD, although I might take an AWD. Don't know, maybe even a C5 Corvette.

I didn't understand a word in that video  Were they meant to be able to overtake?

Basically its Initial D rules. Leader - Chaser style. As a leader if you open the gap up you win. As a chaser if you close the gap up from the start you win.

No room to overtake usually so they use these rules.

i recommend you watch it.., :D:tup:

how long is is the jugding for each division here in TCv3?? 1 week??

Yes 1 week, RWD should start in a day or 2.........crap, I better start getting the cars, seeing as self-judgement is OK now.

Why would you guys think today is the last day?
I thought it was a week atleast (and maybe more though I wouldn't count on it).

If that's right (which it is :sly: ), there are still another 4 days of judging FF (though I may consider leaving it open but we'll see about that).

At any rate, I notice the judges' thread isn't really a debate but instead the same old sort of present and leave-it-be sort of thing. Not exactly what I was going for when I explained everything but if that's how you guys want to do it then feel free. :D

Now I'm off to take care of a few things and then it's off to work.
Until next time,
-Kent

I think we're using this thread to debate. Its sorta become our "everything about TCv3 and then some" topic.

I thought its been more than a week already! Shows what Tuner Contests do to your mind. :sly:

It could have been a week now... I can't really say (although I thought I started things on Friday last week).

At any rate, it's a shame to hear the above post because I'm certainly not going to read through this thread for judging (especially with all the useless replies).

I'm actually waiting for RWD to start myself, and in the meantime playing some FIFA having a break from tuning/testing/thrashing cars. :)

Now, let's see....you closed the entries on the 21st. FF testing started next day (22nd).

22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th.......that's a week. ;) Seeing it's still the 26th in the western parts of world (it's 10.25am on 27th for East Coast Oz), that makes it 2 more days. :)

Seperate topic....since people had problems tuning the ratios for the Primera (EA11R for example) I'm putting up the autosets for RWD & AWD cars so you can all easily adjust the ratios. So Kent, just to let you know I DON'T WANT TO ADJUST MY RATIOS, THE GEARING IS PERFECT, I JUST WANT THEM TO BE ABLE TO TUNE QUICKLY!! :D For everyone else, this is how you need to tune my gearboxes on each upcoming car.

Silvia: Tranny trick to 5.500, then autoset 2 then adjust ratios and set final ratio.

CZ-3: Tranny trick to 5.500, then autoset 3 then adjust ratios and set final ratio.

*added bit* I notice I got the quickest split in wrcsti's testing. :D Nissan finally gets 1 up on ALL the Hondas.

*added bit #2* Just reading your review Kurei. Can I say something though...........STOP BUTTON MASHING. You would've got 3 gears of wheelspin by not bothering to feather the throttle, and throughout testing I ONLY got that when I didn't bother even lifting a bit in acceleration up the hill coming onto the start line straight.

*added bit #3* I forgot to say, EA11R yes I do have the PAL version. I don't know whether it makes huge differences in ratios, but I DO know there's a difference in ratios just with the Primera between an NA tune and a turbo tune, the 2nd through to 6th gears are actually longer.

NTSC version will have the Daihatsu Storia X4 instead of the Sirion. 👍

Thanks, I had a feeling that was it, so I bought it when I saw it, no worries then

Also, my scores and reviews are up

No worries at all. 👍

Hmm, the Accord didn't do too badly by your review, but the T1 time is kinda depressing. Slowest car there. :ouch: At least it wasn't last score-wise. :)

RJ's death trap got a 1st? J/K. But seriously, it's a death trap. I dropped to tied 3rd in Kurei's results, but that's OK, Leo's Focus did have a nice feel.

Alright, let's see

mafia_boy: I don't mash the button, I MASH THE PEDAL  (j/k)

In all seriousness, I was actually light on the pedal, I used it as much as correctly possibly, and gave the car room to breath but I still got wheelspin in certain area's, the uphill climb, corner exit of the hairpin and the following left-hander, etc

Thats not to say I have good expectations for your S14 (they can be real fun when done up' right :D)

And then VTiRoj: You did note my times aren't TA ones, correct ? :P, If you want, and It'd make you feel better (:sly:) I could make a run tomorrow and see how fast I can get it to go

I can't wait until FR kicks off, that's when things get good and really competition if you ask me 👍

Edit* (I knew I'd forget something) Yes, RJ's ITR is a death-trap in the wrong hands, but fun as hell for me, The only other FR handling FF I've ever driven besides that one flashy Celica (The tuned Red one, can't remember manufactor's name)
