I feel bad for the instructor in that video. He likely expected the driver to know basic braking techniques. I wonder how much of that incident was caused by panic and not just inexperience though. I'd expect any driver to know that you're supposed to pump the brakes when they lock up. Or that you'd avoid hitting the wall so hard if you just let off the brakes and turn away from it.

I mean, if I can do it, surely he can. If not, I'll be glad to take his seat. :p

Actually, I was taught not to pump the brakes. That just takes you from sliding to zero braking to sliding to zero braking. In my Skip Barber Racing School training they taught us to just relax your foot and leg muscles. It is really hard to teach your brain to relax a set of muscles when you are heading rapidly toward a solid object, but it is the best way to recover. When you relax your foot and leg muscles, the brake pedal will push back just enough to stop the lock up yet keep enough hard braking to still slow you down quickly.

Ive not been to race school, but this is how Ive learned to do it. Not as eloquently put,but basically, gently ease off till they grab. However in case of fade out (Not present in the game) Ive had to ease off to ease in, to ease off, to ease in to ease off to ease in. Not really "pumping", But with pedal faded to the floor and a serious need to stop, yah gotta do what yah gotta do. Ended up with finished pads, and warped rotors  lesson learned.

Here is my Lap with my Beemer

Going from no braking to locking over and over isn't going to help of course, you still need to keep the brakes on, just varying the pressure to stop lock-ups. Maybe I should've just said that instead of pumping.👍

No Gforce, no pedals force feedback, poor feedback on the wheel......
Stay the sound feedback. A good headphone would help for sure.:)👍

GTEYE Progressive Brake Spring
This seems good too. Must help.
EDIT: $29.95 expensive for 2 springs

There's a definite shortage of test drivers here unless I'm missing something...lol. I'm pressed for time but I'll volunteer to give the cars a spin. Shoot me some FR's if I'm not on your friend's list already:tup:👍

I wish I can be a tester :( I sent some invites to several no ABS drivers, see if any of them interested :)

Kool, I think Tuners can drive others tunes and post up impressions, we will just keep the official testers times for end results, Maybe if all are okay with it all drivers impressions can go to the Drivers Choice Award.

We still need to get some Test Drivers in if none show up the deadline for testing may have to be extended.

I got the call from Rido to be a tester. Every series I drive in, I drive without any aids. I would like to think of myself as a pretty capable driver, and have been racing without ABS for around a year now. If you have questions on my skill level, you could probably ask Johnnypenso, I saw he posted here earlier, and I've raced him the most out of anyone else on this forum. I'm glad there's growing interest on the No ABS scene, it truly is the best way to play the game. :)

Long story short, sign me up as a tester.

Please, in this case ,i'll need somebody to build my Yellow bird too. I'll be online with my PS3 only in a few weeks and i'll not be able to add some new testers on my friends list.
Thanks.

I gave Trackrippers RGT a go and did a 2:05.919. I was on 2 - 3 potentially mid 2:05 laps (about 2-3 tenths in lead on the backstraight), but then I threw them away in the last chicane :ouch:.

Even worse: I forgot to save the replay, now I do only have a little number on the tracks fastest times leaderboard. :indiff:

Silly

Dr_Slump, do I still have you on my friend list ? My PS3 is broken now, so if anyone on my friend list who can do borrow glitch and host my car, please :( I tried to use PC version PSN site, only allows view of friendlist :grumpy:

I definitely had you on my list once, but I can't really tell if I "accidentally" deleted you because I couldn't remember who you are... :dopey:

(you wouldn't believe how many people I already deleted just because I no longer knew who the 🤬 they actually are. )
I feel I'm getting old...

No more PSN for me for a week or 2 till I get my OFW PS3 back off my bro, I got the Bannhammer last week, and waiting for the 4.40 firmware to get more stable before I work around it. Only gripe is I got to fish for my un obtainable car some more :( (I was hopping to cop one off somebody) this car has evaded me for years, but I will get one. 69 510 I will get you!

Thats a GREAT thread for no ABS thanks.

I feel abnormal after reading it a bit, because I use a DFGT with plain crapo pedals (G27 in a few weeks) Im going to try out the sponge trick in the mean time.

Done, on share now. BB set to 5/3 (you're sure that's what you want?:scared:) and sports soft tires installed.

I had the DFGT for a long time. I used bungee cords wrapped to the inside of the pedals and to my seat between my legs for pullback, along closed cell foam insulation from copper pipes ($1 for a lifetime DFGT supply:idea:) for compression. Worked quite well.

Great! You're already on my friends list if I remember right, aren't you? (can't check)

Thanks a bunch JP  I am still really clueless with good BB for testers, to the OP : is it possible to change the tune BB now ? I might lower it to 3/1 so the testers would have less to worry about locking up the wheel :scared:. If the OP allows BB changes, I will update the tune posted. So to all testers, my car = Stagea 25t is also shared by JohnnyPenso.
