It's called a sticker.

It's like a piece of paper, but it's plasticy so it doesn't perish as fast in the rain and weather. It has adhesive on one side so it can 'stick' onto flat surfaces.

Quite ingenius really.

Indeed (although technically it is my dads car, i just race it and helped build it)

It's the Oldtimer-GP race weekend this weekend. A lot of drivers use the public day on the Thursday for a bit of circuit familiarisation. Appendix.K pre '65 saloons and coupes have the 500km Marathon which uses the Nordschleife as well as the GP circuit that all the other races that weekend use.

There's also a Alan Mann liveried red and gold LC just coming off the circuit in the background which could be Roger Wills car. And a BMW 1800TISA again just coming off the circuit in the picture below it.

The unknown car is a Astra VXR/OPC (OPC if Opel, VXR if Vauxhall)...I'd be surprised if it didn't understeer into a tree while going around the track .

Actually, it can do 8:35 at the ring, which is why Opel launched the Astra OPC Nürburgring Edition, a limited edition of 835 (because it ran 8:35) cars. It's not that bad, if you can live with the torque-steering. Which is even worse on the OPC NE, because they inreased HP by 15 to 255.
