I'd like to see the OCD to sell 0 miles standard cars...the current version is redundant of the UCD....

Anyone agree????

I agree, but at a higher price.

They would already be sold at a slightly higher price, since the formula for the price you pay seems to be something like this:

(car's 'internal value') - (some constant which may or may not be different for every car) X (car's current mileage) = (price displayed in the dealership)

For example, the Bugatti Veyron is a car with an 'internal value' of 2,000,000cr., but since it always seems to come with zero mileage in the UCD and the OCD, its sell price is always the same as its 'internal value'. If it ever came with miles, its price would be something like 1,998,582cr. after the game ran it through the formula.

However I do agree with you that this is not good enough, and that cars with zero mileage should be significantly more expensive than regular used cars. Considering their perceived value by some (including me ), the slight discount on a car with, say, 1000 km seems ridiculous.

I was reminded the other night when I bought another Veyron, that even though it has 0 miles it still has dirty oil. Strange...

There is no difference between cars with 0 miles and cars with miles, other than the number of miles.

They perform and look exactly the same. Sure you will need to change the oil and refurb the engine, but that is hardly a difficult task.

The OCD needs to update more often.. Its boardline useless.. Well to me anyway.

Price when new = UCD Price / (1 - 0.000005 x kilometres)

Just an overly time consuming and depending on the car, retarded expensive task.

The fact that like every race car in the game is a 500,000cr engine rebuild is insane and it gets old fast.

Yeah, surely a Collector's Dealership ought to be more expensive than just a Standard Used Car Dealership, just a thought.

Let's just say I'd prefer to buy an uncirculated coin over a circulated one and leave it at that....what you prefer is up to you....

what's wrong with cars with mileage?

You have to restore the engine and chassis in order to get the max performance from them - effectively doubling the price you pay for the cars.

That major suckage right there. 👎

That's only a problem if you're going for max HP out of each and every car. So I guess for people who actually do that, it does suck yes. For those that know better, it does not make much of a difference.

Way to act patronizing. Kind of irritating, really.
Let me clarify then, for those who don't like hearing any criticism on GT5...

The cool thing about GT is knowing how it is to drive a particular car. Hence I like my cars pristine when I drive them, knowing the handling and performance is exactly like it was meant to be.. not like driving a beater that was tortured for 80000 miles by some Bob before you got to buy it.

So: the only thing to do is do a full restore/rebuild after picking it up.

I find the idea of 0 miles cars odd. New cars at the dealership have at least a few miles on the odometer.

Yesterday, I found a Viper GTS-R Team Oreca Race Car #91 '00 (or was it the #51? - anyways now I have both :) ) with 0 miles. Cost me exactly 2,000,000.

Excuse me? You obviously haven't been around long enough.
If you think GT5 lets you experience every car exactly as it is in real life, you're going to be disappointed.

For those of us that know better, there is a difference between a 250hp v6 and a 210hp of the exact same v6.

Out of context, or you just misunderstood.
Except a 210hp v6 won't be a 250hp v6 after an engine rebuild. If you can't bring yourself to rebuild the engine, spend less money on upgrades and get similar power numbers.
I don't see the problem here.

Isn't the point of the OCD to feature oft-needed cars like the FGT or JGTC/DTM/Le Mans types that don't show up too often in the regular UCD? The OCD also features cars that can be used for seasonal bonus races.

It's more about convenience for us than really offering something different.

Yes, it will actually have such a significant effect on high-mileage cars. Maybe you should -you know- *try* it before claiming all sorts of things and pretending you are "in the know"...

Yes, that is the point of it but some people think that isn't good enough.

Because used cars were implimented in such a horrible manner.

The UCD and OCD should go away. Everything should be in the dealership.
