The Office Airconditioning is Broken and I'm Cranky

I live in an area that hardly anything has air conditioning, as it never really get's above 85 deg. F. But, my office is in a kitchen and the A/C went down for about 2 days, and that was plenty long for me, so I am sympathetic to your situation vat_man!

Peace,

Boom

Just thought I'd share - if you don't like it, get stuffed (told you I was cranky).

Are you cranky because the office's air conditioning is broken?

Well, I would consider it a 'greater than 50% contributor' - but I'm home with a beer now - and my partner bought my birthday present early - series 2 of The Simpsons on DVD - so things are on the improve.

I was going to ask that! I'm sure the air conditioning is broken because you're cranky, not the other way around! ;)

Ha! If I could get up there, it'd be a lot more broken than it is now!

When you say "on the improve," do you stress the first syllable of "improve?"

vat_man- Heck, be thankful that you at least have A/C some days. I live in Southern California, right where desert meets mountains, and it regularly gets to 95 here (it's gone as high as 124). So quit yer yabberin'! :p

I can deal with it being hot outside - it's when I'm in the office stuck in front of my friggin' PC, with a hundred other office machines pumping out heat, I'm 30 metres from the nearest friggin' window and dressed for 21 deg and copping 28 deg that I'm crapped off. Especially with stupid customers, dealers and our even stupider branch offices - cull all people with IQ's less than 110!

Yes - but I am cranky. :D

I'm more than comfortable with 110 as a limit - especially after the drive in this morning!

Can't you just complain about a busted lightbulb or something?

That's freaky - the one in the loungeroom went this morning! Fortunately, in a rare piece of forward planning, I actually had a spare lightbulb!

So, are you better this morning, or still cranky and unconditioned? Maybe you should take your laptop out to the car!

The IT lab I used to work in didnt have air conditioning either, so we just left the fire exit open. Jammed open with the Fire extinguisher :D

Well, it's not too hot in here - yet!

Actually, we've got a work booze-up tonight, so the air of anticipation should be enough to get through the day - I do love a bit of a whinge though, so expect some complaints later in the day!

In the office - at the moment, I'd guess about 21-22 or so. It's fine in the morning, because the place has a chance to cool off overnight with all the PCs turned - it starts to become a problem after lunch. Yesterday afternoon was the worst it's been, I'm guessing it was probably 27-28 degrees - which on top of a 4km uphill run at lunchtime wasn't too pleasant.

The a/c burned out a motor, and given that we're talking about a three story building with decent floor space, it's no small job to replace it.
