Not really. It was my first trip away for a while.

Also, a question. Where would you go to on a trip somewhere in NZ? :odd: :p Or was it just simply a trip to the supermarket but the fuel ran out halfway there and no one could be bothered getting out of the car so they just pretended it was still working, then after 15 hours the decision was made to push the car back up the driveway and go in for dinner. :sly:

Cool evening weather oil my gears...

Oils. 3rd person singular.

I blame the thread title. It's ambiguous. Singular or plural? Curse you, grammar!

Agreed. Needs to be changed to What Oils your Gears?

Thirded... Oh wait, nevermind. :dopey:

PS: MazdaPrice - I'm waiting for your Gear Grinding post. :sly: :p

It was just a literary device as part of my post, but if the public want a long winded attack on bad grammar, then that is what the public will get. At some point today.

I know. It was sarcastic, but sadly I don't know how to show sarcasm through the internet.

Good grammar does oil my gears. That is true.

I'm a sucker for being trolled by my mates into correcting their delibrately bad grammar. I know I am being trolled, and you shouldn't feed them but I don't care.

I don't think there is a problem with learning. Or wanting to learn.

The aggrevation often comes from how the grammar nazi goes about their business. I'm generally rather kind about it.

I used to be casual on the Grammar Nazi. These days there are particular people I troll/Grammar Nazi just because I don't like them. :p it oils my gears, you see.

I'm not a massive Grammar Nazi, it's just that I sort of have OCD so anything that is wrong or out of place annoys me.

Actually I did type in oils my gears until I felt like... Is this correct? Oh. The title says oil so I guess it should be oil. Owkey I'll go on with oil then.

English is not my first language so pardon me for the mistake, because myself I too hate speaking/typing with a faulty grammar. Thanks for correcting me mate!

Not a problem."What oil your gears?" makes sense if you are talking in the plural; two or more things. Examples:

Music oils my gears. - Singular
Music and television oil my gears. - Plural

One thing oils the gears.
Two or more things oil the gears.

And generally, you would put a question in the singular.

Hope that helps!

You cannot beat sitting down with a good book, a hot chocolate, and Top Gear in the background.

Not having to worry about going to bed early because I have to wake up early for school. I'm not much of a morning person.

I could beat it. No hot chocolate would be more enjoyable for me, because I can't breathe good after I drink it. Allergies or something.
