Thoroughly oiling my gears is the fact that my package from the UK arrived today. Had missed a delivery. Another failed delivery and it was getting sent back to some royal mail sorting office.

So are you in Canada now? Isn't that oiling your gears?

I'm in Japan now. But yes, it is thoroughly oiling my gears.

I wish I could see more of the world, not just the same old counties around here.

Anyway, it oils my gears that I have no homework tonight as well. I might actually go to bed on time.

In the past year, I have set foot in the UK (obviously), Canada, America, The Netherlands and Japan. And I may have to make a short trip to South Korea or China soon. Depends on whether or not I have to leave the country to activate my work permit.

It's been a good year. :)

Wow, you saw quite a bit in this world. Must've been entertaining to jump into brand new cultures & sorts. I hope I'll be able to do the same when I grow older.

Yes. It's been a good year. Unfortunately, at least one of those countries was cheating. When I say the netherlands, I mean "a brief stopover at Amsterstam Schipol airport that was fun but almost ended in disaster". Cut to a video of me running through an airport in full panic mode when I realized that the "hour and ten minutes" I had to get my connecting flight was only ten minutes when you factor in the time difference.

I realized this after I left the smoking room and ran like the wind, guitar case swinging about wildly. Should have realized when I ran past approximately 30 Japanese people who were a lot calmer than I that I had plenty of time.

The other one that was technically cheating was America. I crossed the border at Niagara falls and spent just two hours in New York state. Not really cheating though as I wandered around freely and had a smoke and a can of Vanilla coke. My passport was stamped for 90 days though.

As for travelling and experiencing different countries and cultures, I highly recommend it. It has been a great experience and I have made many new friends. And it's how I met my (very soon to be) wife.

Last night I played road hockey for what seems like the first time in forever, was a lot of fun, and gear oiling was had.

Vanilla coke. I haven't seen that in so many years. One time I had to put vanilla extract into a regular coke but it wasn't the same.

You can pretty much buy it anywhere where I live.

Your adventures seem cool

Thanks. Certainly beats the years I worked at a stockbrokers.

I found some vanilla extract by Dr Oetker that works just fine. You have to get the mixture exact or it won't be right though.

As for Vanilla coke, I found it quite a lot in Toronto, but only at certain stores. It was imported from the US, so as a result a bit more expensive than regular coke.

When I went to the US for the day, I looked for big bottles of Vanilla coke, but alas, I couldn't find any.

This works great for making vanilla Coke. I'd recommend picking some up, 'cause it's awesome.

Great Party last night, no Hangover and now off to the movies.
The weekends keep on getting better.
Enjoy fellow GTP's !!!! :)

If you're going to self censor your words, don't partially censor. Censor the entire word.

Listening to Crockett's Theme oils my gears. It sometimes feels weird how I'm extremely nostalgic about all the stuff in the 80's while I never lived back then.

Wow! The solar flare did something? 'cos it did nothing here...

I just found a box full of old CD's in the attic.. There are tons of them, after doing some research I have estimated that they could all go for around half a grand together..

Yup a bunch of people's Internet in my area got knocked out. Ironically enough this is what we're talking about in science class, solar flares and the sun and what have you.

Oiling my gears now is Top Gear. I always watch TV when it's not on so I never get to see it.

The 30% off sale for the games that won awards on PSN. I bought Festival of Blood, and Angry Birds, even though I already have it on my phone and iPod, but I decided it would be fun to play on a 37" screen rather than the small screen of a phone.

Too bad I didn't know they didn't up the resolution before I bought it.
