Sorry to interrupt, but, does anyone have any opinions about Autopolis hosting an F1 race, which it was designed to do?
 
Sure, it can host a Grand Prix. Just as soon as someone hands $150 million over to Bernie to host it for the next 5 years.

Won't happen. Layout looks pretty challenging, with lots of hills and some nice-looking corners. But it's too isolated and there's no reason to depart from Suzuka.

I don't think it's a better track. It's probably just as bad.

Bahrain is a seriously boring race to watch. Everytime I've watched it it's become a chor in the end, the only entertaining thing I've seen there was Rosberg push Hamilton and Alonso off the track.

I think the Abu Dhabi circuit is more entertaining and a better spectacle for the crowds. Last years race was good, spiced it up when Hamilton unfortunately retired and the 2010 race was a good one as the championship was at stake. Which is what the thread is about, what calendar would we use to make the races exciting for everyone.
 
Agreed SVT, the only exciting race I saw there was probably the 2013 Grand Prix.

All I'd do to the current calendar would be to take out Sakhir, Buddh and Yeongam and add a Pacific GP at Fuji, bring back the European GP at the Nurburgring and the Mexican GP at the Rodriguez Autodrome in Mexico City.

I'd agree with taking those 3 out. Bahrain is boring as is Korea and the Indian track is just awful. Although I would add two different races, probably Holland and either San Marino or a European GP which changes circuits every year. I'd bring back the Mexican GP too.

I would start off in a East to West fashion for my whole season, start in Eastern hemisphere and finish in the Western Hemisphere.

So here's my choices:

R5: Singapore, Singapore
R6: Bahrain, Bahrain
R7: Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

R10: Nurburgring (GP Circuit), Germany
R11: Budapest, Hungary
R12: Monza, Italy
R13: Valencia, Spain
R14: Silverstone, England
R15: Catalunya, Spain
R16: Indianaoplis, U.S.A.
R17: Interlagos, Brazil

See, starts on the East, and ends up in the Western hemisphere. And we don't have any stinking Abu Dhabi's finishing the season, Interlagos has and in my opinion will always be the finish of the season so my line-up of races doesn't change that!! :cool:

Logistically that's the 🤬 right there! I don't know why they don't run it like how you have here?, Their always talking about cutting cost and logistics is a big part of that budget of theirs. It also pains me that they aren't running Turkey anymore that layout was one of the best. Nice and wide with tons of over-taking opportunity's all over the place. What a shame!
