The proper way of doing DRM

I liked GTA IV's DRM software. If you somehow didn't have SecuROM.exe running in the background, then you would basically enter a nonstop drunk mode.

Edit: I hope you all don't think I pirated it. I was just curious one day to what it was, and I unknowingly stopped the SecuROM.exe from running, and this happened.

Some kid I knew used to have his dad copy rented games onto blank discs. When he tried to copy GT4, he booted it up ad it just went to the prolouge menu. I was just like 'That'll teach you to buy games'...

A leaked version of Batman Arkham Aslyum had a planted glitch where you couldn't glide with your cape. People who pirated the game discussed their problem on the official game forums, which resulted in some fairly funny posts and a worn out ban hammer

I remember one quote from the forums: "There is a glitch in your code, fix it please" to which the developer and/or moderator replied "There is a glitch in your moral code".

Best DRM ever.

That's actually funny if you end up constantly drunk. You could probably still beat the game that way and to some people it might be worth it to walk around like an drunken idiot.

This red scorpion is immortal. Programmers put that information in the game code so it knows it could be mortal only if you use special key info that tells this red thing he's actually mortal and has some damage points. So if you don't use this code then game knows red scorpion is immortal and it does not have damage points.

I think that is how it may works 💡

Because it will always kill you before you get anywhere with the game.

Imagine that someone actually might wanna try to finish that game with red scorpion on his back :]
