The Veyron would surely beat the 7 minute mark...
are you kidding, with sport hard tires and stock setting on suspension...not a chance it'll be under 7min
The Veyron would surely beat the 7 minute mark...
Thank you.It's here
Interesting thread indeed but a little misleading IMHO, sure "real life" cars come with a variety of tyres and you can buy better ones, but in GT5 I think Kaz has gone for a happy medium. Also someone in that thread suggests Comforts are the only street legal tyres and that Sports tyres are "semi slicks", which I don't agree with. I think Sports tyres are premium street tyres more suited to higher performance cars, and the only true track tyres or slicks in the game are the Racing tyres. Which is why the Zonda R and Furai have racing hards if i remember correctly.
Anyway i guess that's an argument for that thread, not this!
Yeah, I think with a skilled driver a sub 7 is definitely possible with the Veyron.Just ran a 7:08 with a stock Bugatti Veyron...Missed the apex and breaking points on a few turns so a better time is possible but not sure if I can do a sub-7 yet. The understeer, for me, is most noticeable in the last section heading towards the long straight away. It's like trying to turn on ice.

I just put in a 7:08.29 with a Veyron on cold tires. I made some mistakes along the way too. I don't know if I can get sub 7, but I am sure a talented driver could.
How much horsepower do your guys' Veyrons have? I have two, one only has 1017 HP and the other I just bought has 1036. Not sure what is with the 1017 HP one... I've given it an oil change and it only has 50 miles. The 1036 HP one has 0 miles.
Ran a 7.01.9 today in the Bugatti Veyron. I lost 2 secs in the final sector so I know a sub-7 is possible. Probably will be able to get it tomorrow night.
My veyron has 1005HP and ~1880kg
ugabugazIt's on - I'll have a go at it tomorrow. I did a few laps today to get myself familiar with the handling of the stock Veyron...Terrible. Turned ABS off, handled a lot better since I could lock the tyres slightly to spin its ass round corners. Ran mine around 995 HP so I could break it in. Didn't want to do a killer lap only to have done it with too much power. Should be better tomorrow though.
Just did a 6:59:291 with the Bugatti Veyron. Youtube video should be available sometime tonight. I'll post it here.
Really would like to see that one. I came close, so I'm wondering what you did...Didn't have the patience for a perfect run.
I hear you...it's so hard to force yourself to continue around the track after messing up..especially if it's in the first or second sector. I did a lot of my laps on cold tires (1st lap) but this one I did on my 2nd lap I believe. Of course I had many restarts previously.
The run isn't perfect as there is still some time to be found, but it will do. In my opinion it is a rather clean lap. I know at one point I went a little wide but believe only two tires went off.
You really have to fight this car to get what you want.

Just ran a 6:59:733 with the stock Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. I do not know the exact HP and weight the real car has so I just went with whatever was 100% power limiter and stock weight. The only thing I changed was maxing the downforce on the car which is legal based on competition rules because the wings come standard with the car. It also comes with a tuneable lsd and suspension but I did not mess with those since I do not know how to tune properly lol.
I'm uploading the video now on youtube and it should be posted late tonight (around midnight if all goes well)
I did the run in Free Run of GTLife's practice mode. Real grip and sports hard tires. No driving aids with the exception of ABS=1. My S2000 had 605HP and 1120kg for weight.
@ugabugaz I've only done a handful of laps with the McLaren F1 and have only managed a 7:10.630. Based on my driving style I can't keep it hitting the sub-7 splits yet. I'll have to continue at it.
I'm seriously doubting the Enzo can do this. The ZZII I still have faith in but it's been a battle to go any faster. Seems like it just doesn't have the horses. Also began testing the Saleen S7 and it appears to be too slow stock. Still need to try the Cerbera Speed 12 and R390 Road Car. I'm not sure there are much more cars that can do this. The McLaren could probably easily do this if it wasn't such a pain to keep on the road.
