The reality of Maintenance on GT6

It was a server maintenance, those don't always result in updates for every game affected. GT6 doesn't always reflect everyone else on how they update their games. Sony was probably trying something new, beefing up security, or increasing capacity. Again, this is a Sony thing. This will only affect Sony, most likely.
 
Holy crap. You guys don't let up do you.

Theorys and hypothesis, some investigating. Not instigating arguments. This is why they get locked. The last couple of pages have been rounding it up though. Carry on guys.

You don't have to wait until GT7 comes out to experience all the above that you mentioned . There are next / current gen games that would make GT6 look like Mario Kart on the SNES if you tried them and are well worth a PS4 purchase / other system .

I am not aware of any that would justify a PS4 purchase. I have no interest in Drive Club.
To date GT is the only racing.driving game for me on the PS. Forza on Xbox and all others on PC.

I do have Project Cars on the PC and have been playing it as well as about 20 older titles.

If I do break down and buy a console it will most likely be the Xbox1 just for Forza. GT7 will have to add leaderboards at the very least before I will consider it or a PS4.
 
In case the Driveclub tweet isn't enough evidence for some, the Online Support manager for the EU Playstation forums has posted regarding the PSN maintenance.

That's not to say it isn't an ideal time for PD to update/add things to their servers.
But it does show that the GT6 server maintenance times, accepting that there is a buffer zone of 1 hour earlier and 1 hour later, is directly related to the PSN maintenance times.

Personally I'm not expecting to see any version updates at the end of these maintenance periods.

Today, one of the things that concerns me the most is the FIA conference.... We'll have news about championship?

Today the FIA conference is in Mexico , sure for the new gp track of Mexico, its the 3rd conference of 2015 till now. Nothing was leaked about gran turismo's FIA championship before today ,after the nurburgring 2014 conference, and the last FIA conference was made at Goodwood, should be logic had news about it at least days ago, is my opinion , i'm not waiting for a new update but i hope for a better connection stability if those maintenances are made for that.

Regarding this maintenance. Has anyone else had trouble getting back online ?

UK only, wired & wireless.

My psn seems very intermittent after the maintenance finished around 8pm

I am not having problems with the PSN, but when i create a room online i can't stay connected for long. I have to test if this happens when i join a random room.

I guess things will get back to normal, after tomorrow.

I haven't been able to log onto PSN for almost 48 hours.

Ah well, let's see if it's sorted by tomorrow night then.

I've had to reset my router back to factory settings to get online, because all of a sudden psn didn't like my old custom settings, which have been stable for the last 5 years !!!

Then they must be testing something, and they added a new thing to their servers that must not like your settings. The second maintenance is probably to either remove the new stuff or fully implement them.
