What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

But when you're with someone and they're racing you the front end gets loose from the wake of a car (surprised GT replicated this in the game).

Oh, I love aerodynamics. GT did a good job modelling them. It's not perfect, but, anyone who's ever raced a Vettel car knows about how incredible the aerodynamic physics are, even if the tires are a bit... iffy.

I am seriously looking forward to the Indy race. Hopefully Storm and Mel won't be removed. They are both good drivers. They have peacefully solved the issue for now. God bless them both.

God bless them both.

Jainism; Karma bless us both.

Regardless, thanks for the words. I don't think that we'll be removed. I think we just need to figure things out. Anyways, I won't be there at ITCC, either. Will you run the show?

Sure man. I don't mind.

So, I'ma take a look at the replays. I'm interested to see the tyre wear on the cars as well as the overall driving consistency.

Done So....

Okay, Tyre wear between all the cars was pretty even. It looked like the Camaro's might need an extra bit of pace couple with a bit less weight.

My opinion would be to lower the weight back to 1320 kg, and given an extra 5 bhp back. Depending on the tune, that power is going through about 2k-3k of RPM, so while it doesn't sound a lot, if you think about the added power AND the RPM it'll sit between, AND lessened, its just a guess but it should give the Camaro's back some speed to fight with.

Paul, Cows, try 480 bhp and 1320 kg around SSR5 as a test, please. Obviously this'll need confirmation from Polar, but since I was the one who respec'd the Camaro (because I was getting close to Paul's time at Nur in a test afterwards, and given he's a PURE driver, I didn't think I should be getting close enough) I feel a bit at fault for their lack of pace this weekend.

Thought I'd test my Camaro, which currently runs at 471 bhp and 1330 kg = 1:21.411 at SSR5.

Can't quite move on yet, I've got some things to say.

If you haven't learned already, Mel doesn't let things go. After watching most of the video, things seemed pretty clean to be honest, nothing that would put me off.. But it gets Mel off. We have to give Mel enough room x2. He seemed to miss one of my Skype messages... So well cross that bridge in a bit. But point being, if you do so much as touch him, he's going to take you out. As sad as it is, that's the truth. I've got some ideas on how to fix the problem.

Camaro spec- you guys think 5 HP will do the trick?

As for the finishing order, I'm thinking Mel should get last place points? You simply can't take someone out with 5 seconds left... It's that, or going by the order at the line...

Old spec was fine.

So Mel got away with that last-second divebomb? Would Mel please PM the video?

Old spec was fine.

But you guys had won both races you raced at... And Paul at one point had a 50 second gap... I don't want a repeat if Audi last season. Seems like now it's 480 1320, so that should be better.

And Mel can't race next week, and if he does anything intentional the rest of the season, he is not welcome the rest of the season.

Maybe we should do the weekday test races we were doing before daytona.

That's because Paul is a great driver. He drives in PURE. He said before he got the other cars on pace with the Camaro. Mel blows by everyone on the straight. :odd:

My plan was scuppered when the game went, "I'M CHANGING BACK TO SOFTS!" Initial plan was to bide my time behind a group on Mediums, and only make a move when the tyres seemed to be going off. Then on my next stint, went to mediums, one lap too far and spun on last corner, as some of you noticed. :sly:

Didn't have the pace this weekend. Didn't put the hours in and all, so it was to be expected.

Just putting this out there, Cowboys, but I managed a 1:21.411 with a 471 bhp /1330 kg setup. That beats my quali time by 0.3 seconds in the Viper (AND Paul's, since I was fastest in quali), and 0.1 on the fastest GT time in-race, which was Paul. Note: I'm not a PURE driver.

Polar, its only 480 bhp and 1320 kg if you allow it. I was just putting it out there as a test to see if Cow and Paul are satisfied.

Just wanna point out just cause I drive in PURE doesn't make me invincible, I truely think SSR5 was just Storms track 👍. For GATE this weekend I only qualified 5th 1 sec off the pole time. (my pb was 3.1 but I'd of been 6th if Joshes time hadn't been dirty) So there much faster guys than me in PURE I tells you . Racing in PURE has improved my driving for sure, learning off the faster guys like CSL, GV etc. (Most of my setup skills have come from CSL 👍)

Results are here if you want a gander ;).

I thought that the Mazda was too fast on the straits. When Mel drafted me on one lap, he didn't lose any time. I wasn't pulling away with him drafting me. I don't know about you, but that seems a little fast. Of course the rx-8 doesn't have front downforce which makes it faster, and I was running max downforce.

Downforce doesn't affect top speed on street cars in GT5, but it should.

IMO it does. I tried trimming downforce out at Daytona to make the Sauber faster. I gained 2 mph down the straits, but I actually ran a slower lap time.

Camaro and Rx8 have no front DF the rest do. Camaro 0, 20, Rx8 0, 20, Viper 10, 40, 458 10, 40, Audi 10, 40. From memory.

Only on street cars. Race cars are affected by downforce though with top speed.

Nice memory. You really know your stuff. I thought that Camaro might need a slight boost. Do you think that Cowboys and you should leave the spec the same for one more week? It could be the track. If you guys are left in the dust by rx-8 and viper again then you definitely would need some concessions on spec.

Camaro uses tyres more due to lack of DF and having more weight than the Rx8 sadly. I think we are trying just 5 bhp back in the Camaro for the next race, best to move back gradualy than all at once 👍.

Maybe the track. Less weight should be good.

And -5HP for the RX8?

Yea let's not make too big of an adjustment too quickly. We should have been more gradual in slowing the car down.

No. I struggle to keep pace with Viper & Camaro, AND get outqualified AND get worse tire wear than the Viper as is.

I have to kerb hop etc., just to keep up, because it's so tricky in the corners. The balance is great, but, all four tires on the Mazda have less grip than the Viper.

In terms of the Camaro, neither the consistency nor execution was good. You guys aren't ACTUALLY using James' tune, right? I had a gander at a replsy, and saw how ridiculous it is. I don't even need a specs sheet to see that.

In terms of the "I saw - to be desired," I just mean that Cows didn't even give a shot, and Paul hit the wall in the last corner like six times. While I'm on a long straight, I look backwards for DP cars etc., and just saw Camaro headlights bouncing around WAY too much...

Two things one I got in trouble last season for that last season to keep up.

Two I'm not the one making the setups so if your gonna slam on my teams setups do your research on who made the setup.

To add I used my own setup and even my own understeered too much, look how bad my front wear was and say I had a hope in hell of keeping up .

It's the one you used from Monza, which Paul mentioned yesterday. Tip: don't use two compounds at once. :ouch: I know, that you dirt track guys like skidding about, but it's not fast on pavement.

Paul, sort it out. I'd like to really race with someone from PURE, to see what you've got.

At the 'Ring, though, 50 seconds...? I'm almost glad I d/c'd.

Lastly: Kerb-hopping is driving on the kerbs quite aggressively, not OVER them. I "bounce" the car, because the Mazda is a good, balanced car, with a supple, forgiving suspension tune.

I had to leave mid-race.

I hate SSR5 anyway.

But maybe you could get -5HP at Monza?

Btw it was 50 seconds over Cowboys vs you... I had a sec over Cowboys a lap even when he and others was cutting etc :p.

No it wasn't I'm not completely stupid I would screw my team out of points by having them run that. Wardez creates my teams setups.
