I thought you hated that song? :p

Anyway, great job Eric, simply by doing that first step. :)👍 Quitting smoking will improve your life so much, as well as others... I have asthma, and so as soon as someone lights up, I have to dismiss myself. Annoying for me, possibly embarassing for the smoker, and either way, two lives are being endangered. As someone on a quest to quit smoking, you'll be helped and thanked by many. ;)

Mile,
First off Good Luck and best wishes.
I quit the hard way. Cold turkey. The cigs made my wife sick, and It wasn't any picnic for me, as I have asthma. The first three weeks are the worst.
I also started running with a crowd that didn't smoke. It helped.
I you feel like you're gonna have a craving. Find the STALEST MENTHOL cig you can and try to smoke it. The taste alone will be enough to make you wanna barf. Once you have that memory in the file, you REALLY won't want to smoke anymore.

I'm getting a deja vu here. Klos, keep the avatar. I guess milefile wasn't around here last time it showed up.

I remember it. I was quite new to the rumble strip at the time and too much of a noob to say anything but I felt the same way then.

It's going okay. After dinner sucked. I just sit there like, "okay... what now?" But a couple hours later and it's better.

Ah well I blew it today and smoked twice. :banghead:

This is not an excuse, but a reason... I was due for a raise in October. My boss has been blowing me off since then so today I asked about it again. So I now know that I will not be getting a raise any time in the forseeable future. The reasoning behind that is simply that they know there is nowhere else to go. And it's true. To paraphrase my boss: "We got you by the balls, chump. If we could we'd pay you nothing! Ha ha ha!"

Hence my desire for a master's degree.

But anyway I smoked two cigarettes. It was yucky. My throat hurts, and I stink again. I don't really see the success of quitting as consecutive days, though. I see it more as where the habit sits with me. I consider it some small success that my two smokes bothered me more than anyting else.

Oh damn, I NEVER smoke those butts (cigarettes), and if I did, I can get into a trauma and die. I'm glad I never want to do drugs, and I'm serious.

If it helps any (and it may not), look at all the kids that smoke, how ridiculous they look trying to bum a smoke, get someone else to buy cigs...and see how they are brainwashed and unoriginal they appear. They are probably similar to the same kids you knew in middle/high-school, they wore all-black, never appreciated anything, didn't care for anything but that next d*mned cig. Don't let your kids get that way (even though that's 10-15 years down the road)...but you can help your child if you don't quit.

If anything else, do it for your kid.

We know you can quit, it's also good to see you admitted to relapsing.
