I remember about a few weeks ago, when I went to Tokyo, I had some Mello Yello (Coca-Cola's rough equivalent of Mountain Dew) and it tasted sweeter than how I remembered it.
I wonder if they have a slightly different formulation for Japan?

Not sure, and plus Mello Yello is becoming fairly obscure nowadays. I just happened to stumble across a bottle of one when I went to a Lawson convenience store when I visited.

I had Mello Yellow in Québec when I was young. ^^ Unfortunately the sales were poor and they made room for Mountain Dew when it became caffeinated-only. I was in Montréal doing a little "Promenade" after having done the Multi-National Grocery Store shopping. IIRC the store in question was called "Adonis". They still have some ads about it when I listen to CKOI 96.9 from all the way here in Middle-North Alberta.

Edit: In the Canada Mountain Dew originally didn't have caffeine until Dew Fuel appeared. Around the end of the 2000's decade it became fully caffeinated at all time and I had to stop because it made me super insomniac.

Now that I've been on meds that make me weak to Caffeine for almost 26 years, If I drink caffeinated drinks I get some nasty physical problems. Damn... I wish I could still drink Barq's Root Beer, it used to be one of my favorites...

3 or 4 days ago I drank about half a small glass of Pepsi and my body was going crazy. I was hurting and my heart was having some bad palpitations along with my stomach becoming awfully painful.

From the makers of the Lemon Tea Soda, comes... Berry Burst Tea Soda.

How they managed to convert tea into soda is absolutely baffling. Makes me wonder if one would be able to make tea soda with something like a Sodastream.

And before anyone asks, yeah, it's alright. I kinda liked it.

I saw this today. I’m a sucker for fruit punch drinks, so I got it. It’s good. Looks like it’s a new product from Dr Pepper/Seven Up.

omg... that was my crack when I was a kid. Its been around since the 1970s at least. It was made by the company that made Canada Dry Ginger Ale .
I had no idea. Never heard of it before today.

Turns out it’s even name checked in this Drake song, “Weston Road Flows”.

I went back to that same store to get another Tahitian Treat, and they were sold out.

I've come around to certain Zero drinks. As a mild, very mild, part of having a healthier diet I've tried some Zero pop for when I want some flavour and not just tap water.

Great
Vimto
Sprite

Acceptable
Fanta

Disgusting
Coca-Cola
Kofola

Cola drinks just aren't suited to be sugar-free. The Vimto (only available at home in Wales) and Sprite are game changers. It won't do much towards an actually healthy diet but less sugar is a start.

Sprite Zero felt flat to me when I tried it (though TBF that was years ago), but I always liked Coke Zero. Coke No-Sugar tastes flat to me, even straight from the can. Pepsi Max somehow has more "fizz" than regular Coke (IMO).

It does have less fizz than normal Sprite but I don't mind that. Sprite is one of the few pops that's still really nice when flat.

That's the same way I feel about Dr. Pepper. I bring one of the 7oz. mini cans of Dr. Pepper to work each morning to drink with my morning snack. But we can get so busy that it might take 45 minutes or so for me to finish it but it doesn't taste bad if it goes a little flat. But both Coke and Pepsi do taste bad once they start going flat.
