I remember about a few weeks ago, when I went to Tokyo, I had some Mello Yello (Coca-Cola's rough equivalent of Mountain Dew) and it tasted sweeter than how I remembered it.
I wonder if they have a slightly different formulation for Japan?

Not sure, and plus Mello Yello is becoming fairly obscure nowadays. I just happened to stumble across a bottle of one when I went to a Lawson convenience store when I visited.
I had Mello Yellow in Québec when I was young. ^^ Unfortunately the sales were poor and they made room for Mountain Dew when it became caffeinated-only. I was in Montréal doing a little "Promenade" after having done the Multi-National Grocery Store shopping. IIRC the store in question was called "Adonis". They still have some ads about it when I listen to CKOI 96.9 from all the way here in Middle-North Alberta.

Edit: In the Canada Mountain Dew originally didn't have caffeine until Dew Fuel appeared. Around the end of the 2000's decade it became fully caffeinated at all time and I had to stop because it made me super insomniac.

Now that I've been on meds that make me weak to Caffeine for almost 26 years, If I drink caffeinated drinks I get some nasty physical problems. Damn... I wish I could still drink Barq's Root Beer, it used to be one of my favorites...

3 or 4 days ago I drank about half a small glass of Pepsi and my body was going crazy. I was hurting and my heart was having some bad palpitations along with my stomach becoming awfully painful.

How they managed to convert tea into soda is absolutely baffling. Makes me wonder if one would be able to make tea soda with something like a Sodastream.

And before anyone asks, yeah, it's alright. I kinda liked it.
