:sly: I knew that...... No actually I didn't, anyways happy to know he is okies.

-I am an idiot... :dunce:

hehe... I've been a victim of that on numerous times as well ;)

We'll never know the total, they'll only have a 'best guess-timate', and that will probably in all reality be 1000's off...

yeah it wouldnt surprise me actually, as there are still areas which are still unaccessible, and thousands would have been washed out to sea. then theres the threat of disease now which has been predicted to double the death toll....
this is such a sad thing to happen. :( one of my mates lost a close friend in Aceh..

now there is another tsunami due in a few days or 10 years coz they all come in pairs. :scared: i got a site here and it should give you a video of the actual wave and real sick ****. http://skyscape.sky.sky.com/?clubSiteCode=MSITE05&lid=VIDLHN or if that dosent work goto www.sky.com/skynews/home and click on video on the sidelist And now they will not have to identify bodies phiscaly (sorry about the mispelling) coz they are going to start doing dna identifying. thats going to take even longer. wat do u guys think?

I think it's going to stop with about 180.000 dead people (let's hope it's less) :indiff:
What a boring new year for those people...I feel sorry for them.

the main reason they are doing DNA identification is because they cant physically identify the bodies as they are decomposing at a rapid rate in the heat... and with so many dead they say it will take 4-5 months before they think they can identify most of the people. i think they are also using dental records to indetify them..

Where did you hear that? I've been doing a bit of reading in the last few days about earthquakes and volcanoes and how they can trigger tsunamis (the worst tsunami before this was in 1883 when Krakatoa erupted and it killed 36,000 people, another one last century killed 27,000 people in Japan) but I've heard nothing about tsunamis coming in pairs.

I wouldn't call it boring, but I would call it VERY unfortunate.

As for all of you guys guessing what it's going to get to, I wouldn't even really want to think about it. I heard Nostradamus predicted almost exactly this.

He always does...

The final death toll will probably not be on the news, we'll all be over it and living our own happy little lives and everyone will forget. :indiff:

Today's paper:

#1. Nostradamus has predicted everything. In reality everything he predicts (and probably everything anyone ever predicts) will EVENTUALLY happen. But that's beside the point.
#2. "Guesstimates" and little tallies etc are usually between 0.5% and 4% incorrect, so let's not only hope it's low, but accurate as well.
#3. The death toll could easily triple in the following months, especially if earthquakes come in pairs. When diease, starvation, flood, and other things are taken into consideration, it could be 2010 before the problem goes away. It's scary to think that these things can happen, and I hope they don't, at least until mankind is long gone anyway. Anyway, what everyone should be focusing on is me. That's right. Everyone drop what you're doing and come pay attention to me. I cut my thumb on a bungee cord and it created an earthquake in my house. My mom is screaming, the music is blarring, and my thumb hurts. So everyone, just remember the world revolves around me. Hey Jeff, remember Liz Smith? hahahahahaha. I hope shes in asia right now. that's horrible. i probably shouldn't have said that. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

OooooooooKkkkkkkkkkk.........

What's the latest death count, last I heard it was edging 130,000.

Yes I saw, but I assumed that paper was a few hours old. The death count seems to be going up rapidly so I thought it was a valid question.
