I can see stig challenge just being a 1 lap time trial of the TGTT in your chosen car, and you must beat certain times depending on the difficulty..

Therefore on easy difficulty you'd have to lap the Veyron (example) in 1:23, on medium 1:20, and on hard 1:18.2 to "beat the stig"
 
If you beats him, he should become not only one of your B-spec drivers, but also gives hints about car tuning

The problem is (if you haven't heard yet) the Top Gear Test Track may be changing, if not for this series then probably befor the next one, due to a dispute between Lotus who rent the land and maintain the track and the land owner at the main Lotus factory in Hethel.

The stig still lives in top gear as well ! he's still on the web site, in the mag,on next years calendar etc:
stig will stay in the show but will probably not be Mr Collins đź‘Ť
I think there will be a "beat the stig" trophy.

what the you heck you mean he got fired!!!!!! Why would the people fire the stig; the white knight!!!!!!! I'm not to pleased with this and if it's true up your's top gear!!!!

Man I wished I would have read through all the post before I went off about STIG.:dunce: I hope there is a " Beat The Stig" trophy; that would get alot of us pushing harder.
 
I want to beat the Stig but it also must be the power board in the game.

Referring to your other post yes Ben Collins (the stig) was fired after he did a book deal, Obviously the BBC did not want him revealed (even though they had named him in a BBC magazine in 2008) so it ended up in court where the judge ruled in favor of the books publisher so the stig was unmasked. The exact same thing happened albeit without the court case with the black stig (Perry McCarthy ) after him the BBC just Killed black stig by firing him off an aircraft carrier ! then they re hired a new driver and made the white stig. Ben Collins is now a presenter on a rival network's show called 5th gear.
 
The Stig was implemented long before the book fiasco, and The Stig we know and love from the past few years should be The Stig that is featured in GT5. We love The Stig, not Ben Collins. He's an arse!

He wanted to publish a book, but BBC took him to court to stop him, and Ben Collins basically showing up to court revealed it. Since the world knows, they tossed him. He's now over at Fifth Gear.

Yup and hes showed up just what like twice, in some very lame segments?

Its amazing how someone can go from hero to zero just by taking of a helmet.

All coolness has been killed by this recent move. Thats why its so important for the stig to be a surrounded by mystery and apparent untouchable god-like awesomeness, he has to be a faceless character, because once you apply a human identity to the character, no matter how cool the guy is, the people part of your brain goes, pffft hes not that cool, i can take him on.

It kind if like Darth Vader in the original series, you be ****tting your pants only becaus of the dehumanized character created, without the mask when you saw him and it adds an element of humanity to the character I'm sure everyones attitude is like ok sure grandpa. Look at this old geezer telling us to do his bidding for him.
 
To be fair, if i was Ben Collins id have done it too. Clarkson makes ÂŁ2 MILLION a year from Top Gear and the rest of his bits, like books and DVDs. Collins made between ÂŁ5-10 THOUSAND per episode.

Like i said, id have done it too.
 
He signed the contract, and it was all written in front of him. If he didn't want to be hidden behind the helmet, he shouldn't have signed it. What sense is there in agreeing to what you don't want?

To be honest, as soon as it was mentioned that the TGTT would be in the game, it was fairly obvious that there would be a mode to beat times from The Stig, otherwise why ride the hype of the show? .

really? I doubt.

I got a 1:23,3 with an Evo X whereas Stigs time is 1:28,2.

Theres no point in such a mode when they didnt manage to replicate the track 1:1 in the first place; else I wouldnt have beaten that time by 5 seconds.

GT5 times dont match real times, so this mode wouldnt make any sense.

Oh my, I'm in America and haven't seen the Top Gear Christmas special yet, but that is just the right amount of heresy to be funny.

When I finally unlocked the track after that cursed Samba challenge, I was disappointed to see that you couldn't do laps from a standing start. Also, a way to ensure that the same car doesn't appear more than once on the power lap board would be nice.

I didnt enjoy this episode at all. It was very badly put together, and not much humor or cool stuff.

the last segment was lame as well. Also they really should have had a moving toy baby or a real baby in that suit for stigs rebirth. The stuffed doll, just looked way too much like a toy with a helmet lol. New stig isn't alive?
 
I must say I was disappointed with the options at the track, but standing start laps are reasonably doable.
