The Stig Situation

Now he's officially revealed himself and the BBC being quite firm over the issue, it's only just occurred to me that there might be a chance the Stig is either replaced with a generic racer for the Top Gear segment or maybe patched with the new colour Stig?

Anyone else thought about this possibility?

I believe the new stig uses the same suit.

To be honest I couldn't care less and I doubt the Stig in GT5 is much more than just a white racing suit and helmet to be unlocked so you can pretend to be Ben Collins.
If they're going to replace it, I'll suggest an unlockable Clarkson-perm ( which will give any car you drive more power and less grip ) or the May-"haircut" ( which will be forced onto you as punishment for losing too many races ).

I think he will stay.

Im sure in the next series of TopGear a new stig will be revealed with a different colour maybe, if so then we can download an update which just changes his colour!

Or TopGear could just say that it's a new stig but keep the white suit, which is what i hope they will do, it's become so iconic.

Thought about it, not sure its a big deal. The stig's identity doesn't make all the times he's set any less valid, or any less fun to beat (if we do get to beat his power lap times in various cars - which I think is probably unlikely anyway). His inclusion in GT5 won't make the top gear track etc any less cool.

As far as patching in a new coloured stig, even if they did it wouldn't be THAT stig that set the times (again, if his times are included in the game anyway).

Although slightly off topic, I've heard rumours that Clarkson and team are more keen for a completely new thing/character/idea to replace the Stig on the show.
