The Sunday Cup practice results

1st COBANI 2:33.231
2nd JAMESYBOGRAT 2:34.216
3rd ADE3210 2:35.900
4th PSN-OMNIUSALX 2:37.883
5th OPTIMOOSE20 2:38.693
6th GOODWOLF_ 2:39.108

Firstly thanks to everyone for attending tonights practice, an I apologize for forgetting to set the race finish clock for our first attempt. At the moment COBANI is the pace setter with JAMESYBOGRAT less than a second off. Having watched the replay though, I can see that JAMESY did catch up with OPTIMOOSE after 3 laps, even when he gave him a 20 second head start, so I think that JAMESY may have lost a bit of time at the end of the last lap.
All in all though it has given us all an idea of who is going to be fast at next weeks race, and with it being a much longer race, the slower drivers will need to be aware of this. Race pace in the midfield is going to be slower, and if COBANI and JAMESY break away from the pack, it will be an epic battle. Hopefully there will be 6 more of us on the grid aswell, so its going to be real tight. Thanks again for this practice tonight, I hope it has helped.
I am also going to give a grid position to OPTIMOOSE20, as sadly BUCHANPOWER cannot make the series.

That was a rough qualifying session, but I really think I didn't spend enough time with the car. If I can fine-tune it a bit more, I may be able to shed 2-3 seconds(on spa)

Tuning will make the car quicker, but practice will make you quicker:D Now that you have a grid position for the start of the season can you let me know car/wheel colours, and racing number.

Not long to go before the first race in the Sunday Cup. Above is a print out of the actual toe and camber settings for a Lotus Exige cup 260 race car. That car has 288 bhp per ton, and if you take the weight of our RMd Lotus, we are getting 258 bhp per ton, so we are a little bit off in power but we are still using the same chassis although not the same engine. The Lotus Exige also has adjustable Ohlins suspension, which I have converted into GT5 settings. If anyone is interested in trying them let me know. I have used the highest values from the print out for setting the camber and toe L to R. please ignore any other settings.

nice one ADE :). I see that the exige is right hand drive .
(the differance in th camber settings left and right ,to allow for driver weight)

but what is the corner weights ? (with driver)

The print out info is based on factory settings that are applied when the suspension is fitted. At this stage the car has no body panels, interior, wheels, battery or fluids so the actual weight is much less than when the car is complete. Corner weighting is done when the car is complete and is variable depending on the weight of the driver and fuel load. I can try and find some more details out, but for the mean time I put this info up for anyone to use as a reference. On Sunday we should have more on the grid, and this info may be of help to anyone who is trying to get their times down. (obviously not you Jamesy):D

Excellent Ade! Very nice connection between the game and the real world.

As I need every help I can get, I will try these settngs.

And yes, I know that training is the only way to find speed... :)

That right, speed comes with practice. I am going to have a last minute practice session on Saturday at about 7.30pm if anyone fancys a few laps. No race this time, just a chance to try and make a bit more time.

I'll try and make it. I was impressed by the straight line speed of some, so I'll need some practice runs to try and make my Elise as slick as oil.

If I remember correctly, I think I am getting 138/139 mph before braking for bus stop chicane.

Not long now till our first race, who's looking forward to it? Saturday night I will be having 1 last practice before Sunday, if anyone wants to join, the lobbly will be open from 7.30pm GMT.

I hope a greater part of the grid will be there, so we can all get al feeling for the different driving styles everybody has. And of course, let's not forget the pit-entry; valuable seconds can be won or lost there. :ouch:

See you tonight! 👍

Great, there should be a few there, and thats a great idea about pit stop practice. Like you say, seconds can be lost there, and that could make a big difference come Sunday.

I did some practice today and was able to cut a second for a lap or two with pure luck. I'm happy if I stay on track. :)

Ade: The settings you sent work out well! Thanks! 👍

I really looking forward to the race! Hope that there will be fellow drivers on the same level as me.

Maybe I can get access to the telly later tonight after that the family has watched...what ever it is.

Awesome practice tonight, thanks everyone. Tomorrows race is going to be mental I think. Sunday Cup starts tomorrow!

👍 Still don't have the straightline speed and that pit entry kink and I don't get along, but who cares. Great fun and close racing.

Hi ADE. My wireless router for the PS3 went pear-shaped last night & I could only get access to the 'net now. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it tonight so please give my spot to somebody else. Sorry & thanks.

Rhino/Jay.

Just so everyone can see how close are we talking about. :)

It was very close in last nights practice, so the racing should be really tight tonight. Pit strategy will play a big part.

Thats a shame, hopefully you can get it sorted for the next race. It looks like its going to be a lot of fun.

Could someone post up what parts are standard in the RM modification. Ive got a car already but it has extra parts which I want to remove for the race rather than buying another car!

Also can I change my Colour combo to Black car Gold wheels still No13

Cheers :)

Yup suprised no one had chosen them yet. There seemed to be loads of orange cars on the grid and i figured that black would show up less dents so my car wont look like the Mini at monaco!

Funnily enough the 2012 Lotus F1 car will be unveiled later on today, and its less than a week until the next Mini madness race:tup:

Are lotus going back to black and gold since caterham are green and yellow this year?

1:34.7xx fastest I got today. See you all tonight!

Yeah, Black and gold like the old JPS cars. 1:34.7 is a great time, it should be really close tonight.
