I take it weather will be off though?:nervous: What time change settings are we using?

Yeah, weather will be off. Time settings will be set to Race start 4.00pm and time progression set to 5. Hopefully that should give us a day/night/day cycle for the estimated length of the race. (If I have got the time progression setting wrong, can someone point me in the right direction)

I think when time progression is set to 60, that means 1s in our time is 1min in game time, but am not sure.I also remember that some cars(Gallardo) have clock in cockpit view and you can see how the time fly.
Will try it later, than I could say more about it.

edit:

just found this

1-1 = 1 hour = 1 hour

1-2 = 1 hour = 30 min

1-10 = 1 hour = 6min

1-60 = 1 hour = 1min

So (5) would be 12 minutes of real time would be 1 hour of game time?

So the race at 1hr40, just over 8hrs will pass in game?

Race start at 4pm, will end just after Midnight then???

Just had a few laps practice in my lounge on sports soft on my own and improved my time to a 4.10.881. Now that's not gonna worry the leaders but an improvement on my own time I set in Sunday's practice.

With so many cars the first laps could be crazy! :)

Hi, I'm a regular voyeur in this thread.
To get a 24 hour progression over your proposed race length you'll need to set time progression to
14 for 23.5 hours
or
15 for 25 hours.

On a side note I was considering joining this race and sc3 but alas I work shifts so wouldn't be able to attend regularly. :-( plus my pace is way off your regulars and I'm not confident I'm "clean" enough.

Hope the info helps.

Might be too late to bring this up but I've seen a couple of enduro threads adopting a simulated driver change in these kinds of races. Basically just a predetermined pause in a pit stop to give the driver a rest. Wondered if you'd thought about it Ade. Rather easy to implement.

I’m sorry to announce that I’m not able to participate in the Endurance race. :(:(

The reason is that the room where my sim rig were placed is about to be taken by my oldest daughter…so I have been renovating the room for a couples of weeks back now and I haven’t got the time to found and install a new place for my dear seat and wheel.

Good luck to you all on Sunday! :)

Thanks everyone with you help on time progression. I will set it at 14 to give us 23.5 hrs. CTR driver, its very nice to know that people enjoy reading the thread without participating in the series. Thank you 👍👍👍 If you do ever fancy giving SC a try, your always welcome to attend some practice sessions.

This is something I did look into when I thought about doing an Enduro. I found a thread where drivers had to do a 3 minute stop in the pits to simulate a driver change. I thought that 3 minutes was a bit too long as it would take a long time to make sure everyone stayed stopped for this length of time. Maybe a minute, or 90 seconds would be better. I think it is a bit late to implement this now though, as the race is only days away, and if everyone didnt know it was in the rules it would certainly affect the outcome of the race. When I do another (possibly longer) endurance race it is something I would put in place, and make it clear in the rules from the start.

OK Rosen, thanks for letting me know, we will miss you. I am considering doing 1 more special before S3 starts. Possibly the first Sunday in January is the date I have in mind. Maybe you can join us then.👍👍

My experience from a 4 hour race is that the time it takes to refuel and change tyres is enough. You can stand up for a short while, do a short stretch and then full throttle. 👍

Glad I could help out.
Regarding joining some practice sessions, I'd love to.
It would give me opportunity to practice some racecraft amongst guys who may be forgiving and constructive rather than resort to using expletives and name calling.
It would also test my mettle and see if I would fit in with the Sunday cup'ers.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks.👍 Will send you a FR. We always fit in plenty of practice sessions between races, so keep an eye on the thread and let us know when you want to come and join in.

Down to a 4:06.829. Dunno how I'm 2 seconds down... :s

Thats the same as I did last night, and I could see where I lost the time. When I turned right at the end of Mulsanne, I was 1.2xx up on scholseys time of 4.07.7xx. But after Indianapolis that had gone down to 0.6xx. So if I can tighten it up through there a bit more, that would give me a time closer to the 4:05s

Some of you may have noticed my absence from GT5 and GTPlanet, some of you may have not

My work has taken all my time and will continue to do so untill the holidays.
I've informed Ade earlier that I might not make sunday's race and it's official now: I cannot participate in sunday's race.

I feel like I'm missing out on the Sunday Cup's biggest event to date and feel pretty bad about it. :guilty:
I do wish all of you a great time and a fantastic race!

Thanks for letting us know Bo. It is a shame, but its a busy time of year for many people, and although it is the biggest event I have tried to organize, it is not a championship race, so you wont miss out on any points. ( It was only meant as an infill race between seasons to give us something to do during the long wait.) Like Rosen, you will be missed and I will gets some pictures from Sundays action up on the thread as soon as possible for you both. Im sure that there will be a few race reports coming out aswell.

OK Sunday Cuppers. Tonight is the last chance to get some practice at LeSarthe before tomorrows big race. I will be having 1 more short race practice session tonight at 8.00pm in my lobby. 3 lap races using both the RH and SS tyres. There should be 14 on the grid for tomorrows race, so there are 2 free places up for grabs if anyone is interested in a late entry, now is the time.👍👍👍

Try and get on in a bit, but race from my lounge i.e. Take Me Out or some other rubbish has to be watched (NOT BY ME!)

I knew there was another reason Sunday's were good for me!

Want to re-do my transmission but hey ho.

I'm talking about 'She Who Must Be Obeyed' by the way:sly:.

If not I'll see you guys at the race and add some new friends tomorrow!

Well final practice is all done. After watching the replays to get the times, I was blown away!!!!!! With 4:04's being the egg to crack, and 4:03's considered winning times, newcomer LONGBOW broke into the 4:02's. It was a great little practice session, which saw 7 of us turning in for times. I want to thank everyone in advance of tomorrows race, I really hope it goes in true Sunday Cup style. Its gonna be very hectic for the first few laps, so remember the race will not be won in these early stages. Its going to be a long race, so have patience, and be safe. Dont give up if you find yourself at the back, or being nudged out on the first few laps. The race will last approx 1 hr and 40 mins, so there will be plenty of time to catch up.

The room will open at 7.00pm GMT, with qualifying at 7.30pm GMT. Race start is 8.00pm GMT. Please be on time.

Gentlemen, its nearly time to start your engines...

Tonight is the night. Practicing is all done and the times have been set. LONGBOW is the pace setter, with his time breaking into the 4:02's. The room will be open at 7.00pm GMT and qualifying will start at 7.30. There will be 30 mins of qualifying tonight due to the lap time, and the race will start at 8.00pm. Please try to be on time. LONGBOW, if you could send a pic of car and driver, as you may very well end up on the podium.

This is going to be a hard ass race for me! The Mulsane is going to batter me!!!

Extra strong coffee on stand-by!

I will be on time, haha. I just had other things to do yesterday. I will send you a picture of car/driver before the race starts for sure. And my SS pace was a 4:06.3xx - without draft. I'll just work on my car being a bit more stable today before the race...

Ade I sustained a hand injury yesterday and after some practice this morning there is no way I can go the complete distance today! I'm sorry but it looks like there are enough to make it a good race. I may log on to view the race if that is okay.
