The Things That Annoy You

Here's a niche one, when deleting times from your time trial ranking boards (I like to have only my fastest lap per car), sometimes it just refuses to delete them and you have to exit/re-enter the ranking board to try again.

I think this must be the single most annoying thing in the entire world amirite?

After I got VR I've become irrationally angry at the lack of dashboard upgrades for the tachometer and speedometer for the cockpit view.

Why yes, I did just spend $400k on an insane full build, but clearly we do not have the capacity to install gauges that can display the redline or top speed.

Annoying yes but if you start with the lowest ranked car (highest number/slower time) and move up it works. The game doesn't let you delete the same line number consecutively. As an example, you delete the 5th car in the ranking, now what was 6 moves to 5, you can't delete line 5 again without exiting and reentering. But if you delete 6 first you can hen go to 5 and delete it. Stupid yes but at least tknowing this saves time. As you do, I like to keep the ranking cleaned up.

I host weekly races and leagues and I would like the following.

  • Random grid starts
  • Reverse start grid based on previous results
  • Option to mix tire types between front and rear during pit stops
  • Recharge the battery during a pit stop for EV cars
  • Score keeping options such as setting points based on position finished, extra point for leading a lap, point for podium etc.
  • More than 5 setting for traction control. Maybe like 10
  • Adjustable boost like maybe a scale from 1 to 10
  • Test track options on the X track like what was available in GT5 or GT6. Can't remember which one had it.
  • Better damage model
  • Tires should blow out if they get worn enough
  • Cautions
Just to name a few

When's your game due for release?

It annoys me that Traction Control is not linked the the specific car! I have many cars that drive differently and I will need to adjust TC accordingly to make it stable. I sorely wish I could set the TC individually for each car like it was in GT Sport....

AI driver's unnatural tail slide.
Yeah, this could be an feature that makes them more like human drivers, and also an opportunity given to players to overtake them.

However, depending on the race, their tailslide can lead to chaos involving other AIs, and this random chaos ends up being a terrifying threat if I'm trying to get a CRB.

In particular, the blue stupid Huracan from Le Mans' WTC700 and the white Evo from Watkins Glen's Clubman Cup+ are drivers I hate because they always cause this tailslide.

Weather on the menu item races. I ended up just putting intermediates on for every race where slicks are an option and hey presto it hasn't rained once since.

I can control the weather by making a tyre choice..

Also, no qualifying in the championships is going to annoy me at some point soon.

Giving the crown to every Audi AI, and particularly those called "Grady".
As far as digitial hate goes, I cant even comprehend how this is possible.

I may be in error in any of the following assessments and there may be workarounds, if so, I apologize and would like to be set straight.

Regarding the Clean Race Bonus (CRB), there is no real time indication that disqualification has occurred. Nor is there evidence in the replay.

Inconsistencies in the UI.
Some modes have a guardrail against accidentally pressing “o” too many times, some don’t.
Camera positioning controls vary from mode to mode.

No ability to predict the combined PP impact of combos of upgrades, one has to buy the upgrade combo and hope.

Inability to change the final drive ratio of the transmission without replacing the gearbox itself with a more modern one, often with more speeds than the original.

Replays don’t show what car is used.

No race time delta between competing cars displayed in replays.

Replays have frame-by-frame repositioning forward (👍) but not backwards (👎).

Inability to edit game-provided liveries without losing their decals.

Camera forgets its shutter speed and f-stop settings between uses.

Names of cars on license plates. Ugly. First thing I do is overlay that with a simple decal (or imitation real world license plate if it’s a road car).

I wish we would have more than 3 cars on scapes. Only 3 cars in a park lot at a time?
Why are there no or very, very little day time urban(city) Japanese scapes? The 2 that are there are in the shade.
I wish we had more access to the interiors for pics, decals and even color changing.

Couple more to the list.

The OZ LEGGENDA. They were flush in GT Sport. I figured when we saw the F-150 with them, in teaser images, we’d be able to adjust the offset of the dish. Now, we’re just stuck with a deep dish instead of the proper flush wheel.

The other is this:

Shouldn't we be able to photograph multiple cars like this without out of game trickery? Also without having a meet up in a lobby to park cars like this?

It’s probably already mentioned, but it annoys me when you enter a daily race, and the car you chose doesn’t have the correct tires on it, so you change them in the options, but after the race when you’ve exited and enter the next race, the car is fitted with the previous(wrong) tires again…
So you’ll have to exit out of sport mode completely, go to your garage, change the tires in the setup section for this setup change to be ‘permanent’… setup changes in the options menu during sport mode races somehow are temporary…

Same when you partake to online TTs, if your car is not equiped with the good tyres, you can change in the TT menus but every time you come back to practice the TT you need to change them back again. Or you go back to the garage to put the right tyres.

That is because you are not entering the settings menu where all changes are saved to the selected tuning sheet, with tyres being the sole exception to be able to change them outside of this menu.
And it makes sense it is this way, because you propably create a tuning sheet to meet a certian PP limit, but then take this very same car into a race with BoP enabled and different selection of tyres and you dont want your previously created tuning sheet to be changed by this temporary tyre change.

It’s mostly (for me personally) in the daily races with Gr.4/3 cars, so there’s always bop, no specific tuning, just tires…

The problem with ev cars in gt7. They are mostly useless for grinding because their battery runs out in 1 or 2 laps. This could be solved with the implementation of grinding events that dont require refuelling, only change of tyres.

The Taycan actually does comparatively well with other road cars as competition (as can be seen in the human comedy race), but this car doesnt have the topspeed to keep up when speeds exceed 280km/h and will definitly lose time on certian sectors per track.

Main problem is more connected to money by event being so poorly distributed, but I do agree the other EVs have more trouble keeping up with petrol cars (which actually is correct this way, cant floor them and have the same range as fossil fuel burners 🙄)

I Agree in practice, although I'm not sure how true that still is on a single, um, tank, for equivalent power. A Veyron at full throttle empties it's tank in 17 minutes. That's about 2 laps of the Nurburgring? Of course it won't be at full power the whole way around but neither is an EV, which can also be regenerating whenever not on the power. I think 1000bhp EVs, thus equivalent in power to the Veyron, could manage two laps.

I think the problem comes with the first pitstop. The Veyron can fully refuel in a couple of minutes. A Plaid, Lucid Air or whatever, of course, takes rather longer.

For range without recharging though, I'm not sure EVs are much if anything behind the curve on track for the power they offer.

It wouldnt kill the game if PD would take away the draining battery for grinding events.
EV's dont have the top speed to compete with fueled cars, but they have tremendous acceleration. In tokyo wtc600 (for the few laps I have battery for) as an exercise, I can keep up with the frontline. Even though they eat me in the straight, I come out corners faster and catch them again.
PD could also implement tunning parts for ev's. Like racing battery of racing regen brakes so batteries would last longer or you could get more charge back when braking.
Or even allow battery recharge on the pitstop. Dont know if that would be very realistic but at least ev's would be a viable choice.

Fact that game is not registering "time driven" in TT!
It counts kilometers passed, but not time driven...

And in Lobby, opposite, it counts time driven, but no kilometers passed.

I like the stats, so this is important to me.

And PD still didn't fix it - bcs they don't want to.

You know what really grind my gears, that stupid pop up message, telling me I got the wrong bloody tyres on!! FFS

I can change car now in the little bottom left menu, but that just changes cars, and if by defualt if my cars have the wrong tyres on them like dirt or snow tyres, I cant just go on track with them, and then change in the track submenu. This is especially annoying for my Rally cars as they should be an exception.

I have to go all the way back to the stupid garage and change them. This is why I asked for like a race paddock or Track garages, in the game, so you dont have to run into these issues, the time I waste dragging myself back to the garage is mind numbingly long and bad GUI design.

Come on PD, do better!

yeah the tire thing is super dumb. Even with regular tires...if I'm entering an event that requires RS and I happen to have RH tires on but I do already own RS tires, how bout just automatically switching them on for me for the event and showing me a little note telling me you've done so (like you do for the BOP changes for TTs) instead of making me go into the settings to switch them on myself? ON top of that, if I don't happen to own the tires already how bout simply asking me if I wish to purchase them right then and there?? Boom...one button press and the jobs done.

They could have a lot of one button press options to streamline stuff. Time one button press tune sharing. Pleeeease! So much of this game is back out then go here, do this, then go back. How about selling a car? Ooops I’m in the car, can’t do that. Why not just let me sell the car and put me in the car that was beside the car I was just in.

This one isn't really annoying, I can't think of anywhere better to put it though.

At La Sarthe 30min, there's a spectator in blue, just after two spectators (or marshalls) in red, just after the 200m braking board for the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight. The one in blue is my braking point when I'm in my grind car. He's always there when I'm on flat screen, but a couple of times now I've done the race on VR and some laps he's there and some laps he's not! Where does he go, and why doesn't he go there when I'm not wearing the goggles??

Rhetorical questions 😁
