So should I just not discuss it anymore, or is your curiosity already enough to where me stopping wouldn't change anything?

It probably won't change anything if you stopped talking about it if I'm honest. Whether it's in 1 week, 1 month or even longer, chances are I'll bite and end up reading it. Looks like I'll have to prepare for any intense moments that present themselve in this story I guess.

I've been wanting to read it for a good while, but the fact that it is a 14 chapter story (albeit rather short ones) just keeps warding me away from it.

The fact that it is complete complicates matters further, because being complete means that I'm going to need enough time to sit down and read the whole thing in one go or else it will bother me.

Yeah, I read the first 3 parts in one evening, but after that I could only handle reading one part each day. No doubt that it's a gripping story though, if I originally had the time to read all of the parts in one go, I definitely would have done so.

This made me feel so much better;
POAST%201.png

I think I might hold out a little longer before continuing just because of how much better this made me feel.
Even though I knew it was just a story, actually seeing AJ alive and hugging her little sister just made me feel so much better

Have you ever had someone comfort you after a nightmare or something frightening happened? Well that's the feeling I have now.
It's like the feeling I get after waking up from an intense nightmare, and I haven't felt that this strongly in years.

Then I should probably get some stuff together for when you read Chapter 4.

I'm serious. I'll assemble some pictures for you.

^I'm sure I'll be grateful when I do get around to that.

Alright, luckily I have the old "uplifting fallback" video that can always help me feel a little better, so now that I've watched this again

I'm starting page 3 now.....

"I had to wait until there was something you cared about more than anything else in the world"

When she said that I knew what she was planning.

But when she said she could make natural gas smell like muffins, I almost lost it completely.

And even though, I knew her plan, and what she had done, when she was describing it to Pinkie, I just felt the same feeling of horror Twilight was trying to get from her.

Damn it, even after the effect TNTNE had on me, I never thought I would react this strongly to a fan-fic. I've never reacted this strongly to anything before, let alone a fan-fiction.
Going on to part 4.

Soundboard Version 3 is done.

Still no complaining about destinies, but now with 20% more of Spike's Big No. And... Trixie!

The soundboard instantly reminded me of this video I saw yesterday.

The sound board is helping me a little.
After each laugh I go back to being sad, but it's a little less sadness after each one.
Another 20 minutes and I should be good to go ahead and destroy my happiness again.
"Scootaloo, Scoot-Scootaloo" That made me feel a little better.

In a way, I'm happy about that, and I'm still glad I'm reading it. I knew going in that this was something that would stick with me and probably haunt my memories forever, but even then, reading these incredibly sad stories just makes the good feelings I get from the other stories, the fan-art, and the show itself more.....meaningful.

THAT SAID:
If you are the kind of person who is OK with just being happy all the time and doesn't like a little bit of intense negative emotions occasionally, avoid this story at all costs.

Oh my sounds serious. I might read it when I have lots of time alone. Like in a few years when I move out of home.

I just realized you could do some truly wicked Ventrilo harassment with that soundboard. Possibly even better than the infamous Duke Nukem one.

Not that I'm suggesting that, because of Love and Tolerance, but you know...

^That's not a bad idea. Not that I would ever do it myself of course.....

Anyway,
The business had been running smoothly for 15 years, meaning Twilight had to have been paying close attention for that entire time to make it suddenly go under like that.
So that means she had been planning for 15 years.
Even though I absolutely despise her character in this story, credit where it's due, that's dedication.
I haven't even got to the point where it says she's responsible, I just know that would be way too convenient for it to be anything else.

OK, so the method of Rarity's death was bad enough in my head when I first read it, but actually reading about Twilight slowly describing the pain, and crushing everything Rarity had worked so hard for.....it's just the saddest thing I've ever heard.
I think page 2 was worse, just because it had a lot more leading up the the event itself, it was the anticipation of the inevitable that really drove the feelings of dread and sorrow into my head.

I figure I'll wrap everything about this in spoilers, because even vague statements could inadvertently get some of you to read it out of curiosity.

Just finished part 4....I....I'm going to get something to drink, then I'm going to watch something mindless to take my mind off of this, maybe Family Guy or American Dad, and then I'll finish the story.
EDIT: I'm just going to do it now, I'd rather just keep this feeling rolling rather than get myself happy again before I go back to the story.
I knew this story would have an effect on me, but I never imagined it would be this strong.

Well you got me to start reading it out of curiosity. I've finished chapter one and around the middle I started to well up a bit but that might have been from staring at my monitor without blinking.
Sorry, I smiled a bit when I read the end, I don't know why. It might be because I can't take that sort of evil seriously. Again I'm so sorry.

Edit: I'll read chapter 2 when I get home I have to run an errand for my dad now.

The best one I could find on such short notice. I hope it helps. Truly.

^Helps a little. I took a look at that Rarity sleeping picture that was posted by akiraacecombat a few pages ago and that made me feel a little better as well, but:
When I found out Fluttershy had an accomplice, I thought it was Luna as well, but after she was out, I knew it was Spike, and he just showed up.
Still haven't read past there, but this whole situation is begining to look a lot less sad.
I figured I'd post this before something happens to change that.

This Twilight deserves exactly what she got and then some for doing what she did. At first I thought she was just evil, but the fact she thought there was a chance her friends forgave her for doing what she did just made me realize she was out of her damn mind.

Ok, the ending made it all worth it.
I'll still be reading Reconection in the morning, but that was a whole mess of emotions that I don't think I could stand to go through twice in one night.
That actually took a lot out of me, I'm more tired than I should be considering the amount of sleep I got last night.

EDIT:
This is fantastic:

"Isn't that right madame le flour"
"1 in 6 children will be abducted by the dutch"

Did you read the Epilogue? It doesn't... justify what happened, but it certainly explains it in more detail.

And while I already mentioned that Severing is the one of the main reasons so many people are so uncomfortable with the Tyrant Celestia jokes, the Epilogue is the focal point.

Well, curiosity got the better of me as I decided to read the first two parts, and now I'm feeling quite down after doing so. It really, really doesn't help when you have a melancholic song come up on your playlist when you're reading it either.

Have you ever had someone comfort you after a nightmare or something frightening happened? Well that's the feeling I have now.
It's like the feeling I get after waking up from an intense nightmare, and I haven't felt that this strongly in years.

I can understand why you felt that way, but me, well, all I'm doing right now is just thinking about the events that occurred in the first 2 parts. I'm thinking "How could someone conceive such a dark series of events for this story?".

I prepared myself prior to reading it, but I can never truly know what's going to happen before I actually start reading, which is why I'm so surprised at how dark the story is so far. For me to be so surprised by something like this takes a fair amount of effort as well.
So, I might get round to reading the rest of it another time, but not now as I think I'll have an early night tonight, that is if 3:25am constitutes as early.

Crap, I forgot about that.....I'll read that now.

Damn, her plan went far deeper then I had though.
So I guess this means in Reconnection Celestia will probably be targeting Fluttershy.
This should be interesting.

Also, that evil 🤬 🤬 Celestia...I hope she dies.
Also, I feel a lot less anger toward Twilight now. She still deserved to die for what she had done, and what she was planning to do, but she had been manipulated since she was a little filly.

No, actually.

I can't really say much more beyond that without it being a spoiler of massive proportions, but Celestia never directly takes part in any of the proceedings of Reconnection; because Reconnection isn't the type of sequel that you think it is. She plays almost exactly the same role as she did in Severing, in fact.

You also have to read Reconnection to fully understand what she was trying to do in Severing.

As a hint:
Twilight was going to die regardless.

And now you know exactly why people freak the hell out every time Seth does an "Our Benevolent-ish Dictator Celestia" post on ED. Well, one of the main reasons at least.

Twilight was going to die regardless.

I figured that from the epilogue.
At the end:

"Purple? A bit garish, but after all these years in white I suppose I could do with a change."
At that moment I kind of figured she had planned to do something to Twilight that involved killing her and taking her body, and the power that comes with it.

There's a little bit more to it than that.

The war between Luna and Celestia that started while Twilight was fighting Fluttershy is the really important part.

^Ah, I guess I'll have to see for myself then.
Have to say though, knowing my predictions are wrong kind makes me more eager to read it.

Anyway, I loled uncontrollably at this;

Seriously, that thread is currently full of this:

Well I'm up to chapter 4 at the moment and it may have a heavy emotional impact on me yet but at the moment it's minor.
I'm still a little bit entertained at Celestia for being so evil she's like a cartoon villain.

However while I was out I kept thinking about Dash and her wing, that did make me sad.
Big W's having stock-take sales at the moment and they're selling ponies however I could only see Pinkie Pie and pink Celestia (is that Trollestia I can't remember).

I actually did that before you said anything.
Wait....post on top of next page? Need to find something funny.

EDIT:
Too tired to search for anything else right now, so I'll post the weirdest I could find:
Only%20sweetie%20belle%20knows%20the%20truth...Moose..png

wtf is this?

There was a really weird picture of Fluttershy in a suggestive position asking to be chocked, but I figure driving that image deeper into your head every time you view this thread for the next 10+ posts would be a 🤬 move.

Don't worry about it. When I read it, not a single thing that I thought was going to happen going into the story actually happened.

And so you don't get shot up with nerves, I will mention that Reconnection is almost nothing like Severing in tone. It is still a very intense piece, but it is more like a psychological thriller than a psychological horror story like Severing is. At least for the most part.

It looks like we have another person that is pony-curious, bennyrrr.
Finished chapter 4. That was intense, what a horrible way to go.
I can see this next chapter being bad though, really bad. I must go on however I need to know what happens.
That picture describes what my mother thought I has doing rather than watching ponies before I told her.

My Neighbor Totoro reference :D. Great little film by Miyazaki.

Meet the Catbus.

^That's a bit... creepy. I just thought it was a reference to the misnaming some people do by saying "Scootabuse"...

I like Sweetiebelles expression it's rather entertaining.

Well the ending was satisfying I was expecting something like that to happen. It wasn't nearly as gory as I thought it would be, now I have to watch an episode and see if I can still enjoy it.

Make sure you read the Epilogue too. It fills in basically the entire backstory, and plants most of the seeds for Reconnection.

You guys actually have quite a lot time to spare,(*shakes fists, envy over 9000*),so I will give a go(to the fanfics) once I can (weekend maybe).

I guess that I have to posts some pic instead so:

I known its quite dry material, but there are so many time strains.

Also,I good to see ED make some to honour to Madmax (I read something ED on the blog yesterday but I forgot to posts it,and I forgot where is now)

And,why is almost everyone so obsess with turning Fluttershy a lesbian,I don't get it,I sort of get why RD and Applejack,Trixie and Twilight, but Fluttershy doesn't make much sense to me.

Additionally, what's with all those weird pics?,its not funny, its just weird.
(I also had another topic but I forget about it)

Okay Toro, I'll start reading them soon. I actually enjoyed that story a bit (is that bad) like I said though I need to see if I still enjoy the show after reading that.

Here have some Sir Spike.

Severing is already a sick and disturbing story. I much prefer psychological horror over blatant violence.
