i never thought I'd see the day when I had to mention the 'forbidden fandom' on here.

there's an unspoken agreement to give rude gestures to the press concerning what, thanks to a decade old TV show or two, is prcieved as a giant fetish club. if any of you were really scanning ED a few weeks ago, a TV show put out a Brony call looking for interviews and such. apparently, it was for the show "My Strange Addiction". almost everybody that had posted a comment said "it's a TRAP". looks like people were paying attention to what happened to furries when they got 'tabloided'

We've been compared to the fur-fetish kind of furries for a long time. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's been since day....on second thought, I'm absolutely sure that kind of insult has been slung at Bronies since the first time it was mentioned on the internet.

Besides, everything involving some kind of animal can get you labeled as a furry(The fur-fetish kind). But it's just stupid people being stupid and trolls being trolls. Nothing anyone can do about it.

Anyway... most people aren't informed. They get information from the "news" (read current affairs shows), these companies modify any information they get and sensationalize it. They'll be the ones that hate without watching the show.

Anyway... I've just got back from work where the boss was meant to discuss time sheets with me (about 20 minutes) it took about 2 hours... He wanted to talk. I guess I'll just have to read about ponies in bed now.

You can say that about anything. E.g., the odd cake here and there is good, but too many causes obesity and potential heart attacks. Smoking, etc. There's so many poisons out there that inevitably you're going to be consuming something or other.

Not many of them actually dress as ponies, but there are still lot's of Bronies who are also furries. It's likely the minority, but there are still a lot of them.

The problem isn't really as simple as us being labeled as furries. It's that the furries were labeled as are stereotyped as a bunch of sexual deviants who make these suits purely to have sex in. There are those people, but they're rare.

I think you're right though. Just because you dress up doesn't mean you're going to go and as you said be a sexual deviant. It's just the minority that end up labeling the majority.
I've noticed that happens a lot with Muslims over here, (it might happen in the states too but I shouldn't assume (even though I know it does happen over there )) because a handful of people go and kill themselves all Muslims must be terrorists.

But I didn't come here to discuss Muslims or any other religion for that matter.

and for your information, Spoilt, there is no such thing as a "furpile Orgy"! those suits weigh 30-40 pounds, are made of many yards of fake fur, hard plastic, extra gallons of dye, and about 5 cooling fans, and the people inside them still sweat like an overworked horse. people pay up to $2000 and wait up to a year even for a headpiece. the mac, AJ and Dash suits above probably cost somewhere near 4 grand.
those suits, in other words, are too expensive to risk wearing more than a few times a year, and too well insulated to preform in for more than a few hours a day.

and you think people regularly have sex in they 120 degree inside temperature 2-4 grand saved for several years to get it and are dryclean only fursuits? I don't think so, brony.

Spoilt, the stuff "exposed" in those episodes, now 10 years in the past, is in the minority in the extreme and is the sensationalist tabloid stuff they just tried to pull on the bronies!!

here's another little piece of info for you. that little convention movie above is for the biggest US con for the furries, and bring Pittsburgh an extra 2-3 million in business for three days. and in this economy, that's a LOT of business boosting. i hope Bronies and their meetups can do as much to get businesses perked up where they meet.

After scrolling thorugh the last few pages I am kind of confused but i'll offer my contribution to the discussion(s)!

1. I'm not 100% certain but I believe that all those MLP fursuit thiny-majigs are made by the same person... I think!

2. Once again not certain but I think why furries are considered creepy/perverts (or something like that) by most people is because they we're portrayed like that on a old episode in one of the CSI shows...

Steam is miles ahead in development and technical capabilities(it works pretty much like XBLA, in some ways even better)

Steam works better than XBLA in the sense that Microsoft are elitist c:censored:kslappers with asinine, restrictive policies and ridiculous pricing rules (see: no free downloads even if they're free on PC), and Steam are not.

I will never understand how so many millions of gamers are willing to pay to have MS skull:censored:ck them when PC gamers get skull:censored:ed for free.

I think a lot of people go engineer, they just choose G to G missiles instead of G to A. G to A only gives you a target once in a while, but with RPGs you've got the whole wide range of 🤬 to blow up.

Oh no yeah, I love me some dumb rockets. Back in BFBC2, nothing could take to the air while I was Engineering; in Vietnam, it got to the point where I could shoot from my base, over the treetops, and to where I knew the helo spawned at their base, and take it out as they boarded it, sight unseen. (RPG-7 4lyfe yo, none of that Carl Gustav s:censored:t)

Here in BC3 it's considerably more difficult to use unguided rockets against air vehicles; I've yet to do it in the few hours I've been playing.

And about the planes, I figured that'd be good on the PC version, but the only map big enough for that consoles is Kharg Island, and 24 people spread across that gigantic thing makes finding a target nearly impossible. And it doesn't help that teammates marking an enemy is a rare occurrence, so just telling the big grey tank apart from the big grey storage container becomes just another problem.

That's what you get for playing console FPSs And yeah, I've no idea why people are so afraid of spotting. It's a free, inexhaustible action that makes you a better human being... Refusing to do it says a lot about a person.


As far as the furry thing goes, it's as you say; 'furry' on the internet has become a synonym for 'abhorrent terrorist animal-f:censored:er that draws deviant multi-penised animal porn while wearing a multi-penised fursuit'. It's like saying that every /b/tard is a pedophile; it's just become a sort of catch-all internet insult. I think that's one of the reasons I stopped frequenting DeviantArt was all the drama back in the day.
