The Thrill Is Gone

I can 100% relate to this.

I kind of got bored end of May time, coincided with better weather so I was more keen to be outdoors as well. Didn't really miss it, and wasn't sure if I would even go back. I only play Sport and Race C, never got into lobbies.

Then a week or so ago, I just had a thought to log in and see whats new. Daily races were now weekly, and the Race C (I dont usually do A and B) was Bathurst one (cant remember its proper name as I hate the track). I did a few races, fairly slow, qually time wasn't great and DR went down and just didn't have fun. So stopped for that week and waited to see what the next Race C was.

It was Le Mans, a track I dont know as I havent raced it for years on old games. So I spent 2 days learning the track and doing qually then when I was happy started racing.

The bug is BACK!!

Barring the usual frustrations with penalties etc, I am back to loving it. And I dont mind the weekly races providing at least 1 week in 3 its a race I will enjoy (so will have to see how that goes)

But yeah, loving it again!

The break did me the world of good, dont worry, you will come back in a month or two and love it again!

Do the same 🤬 often enough and you'll get bored of it. This goes for anything really.

Take a break or do something else for a while.

It's actually quite heartening to read posts like this, or rather the responses.

Instead of it starting a massive flamewar, posters (and the OP to be fair) have been understanding and helpful.

Also, from the lack of posters recommending another console game whilst trashing GT Sport (a normal forum reaction) tells me there's not really another console game which is truley better for online racing.

A great forum for a great game then - which is great to see.

To the OP - like others said, a break will hopefully sort you out.

I've seen this before and like others, a break is needed. One of my guys once got bored of playing GT Sport and I told him "Look man just take a break from racing and when you're ready, feel free to come back."

As for me, the custom races were already enough to keep me going. Plus the quest on getting a 20 million car or a Miura is what also keeps me going. Sure for some it may get monotonous because the RnG and stuff but there's something that keeps on bringing me back to playing GT Sport and trying to get at least another 20 million car through daily workout and that is again the custom races.

And ever since I bought the game at January, the only thing I did since is custom races, livery editor, and in game photoshoots. Did I ever do Sport Mode? Yes but only during the days where Sony does the free multiplayer weekend.

I already planned that I'm taking a break from Sport when December comes so I can buy newer racing games in that month so for now I'm just enjoying those three things I've mentioned.

I was bored too...and then I got to into livery making.. Ha Ha.. I have done over 60 cars the last 1 month.

I got the F1 2018... but It seems too complicated... Give me access to all the tracks and so I can simply race with others in any track I want.. In addition all the other things.. Nope,.They will not give me that, I have to follow their own plans! Sheesh! So I gave up on F1. They try to mico manage how you are to play their game.. Sheesh!

GT Sport.. I can do a single race.. any track and any type of cars and I got off on my own.. I am happy. But the F1 crap would not let me do that. They have a freaky career path. OK have that..but give me who have an attention deficiet disorder the right to jump onto a car and go race. A single race. Thats it. Get off my back otherwise!

this is why I like P3D v4/FSX Flight simulator. I can take off from any airport and go anywhere I want. I don't have a control freak from the producing company predetermining crap and plans for me.

I've had the same since the latest tyre model change. I've played a bit of project cars two then my mate asked me to do the daily race against him for the giggles and after not being able to predict my favourite car I just stopped playing gran turismo. As much as I loved it i got bored of it (i wasn't a big on sport mode, but I do have a friend with whom we are very competitive and mostly race 1v1.

and after the pc2 experience I started noticing inconsistencies on how the car brakes in GT and how it also always spins out on slight touch of grass with not even half of a tyre
