??? I checked Amazon.....not listed as far as I can see...??

Only Amazon UK has a link up which is frustrating because I don't think any US retailer has a pre-order up which means we won't know if they are going to sell at MSRP or lower though if Amazon UK is an indicator it's going to look like MSRP.

So we definitely know that this wheel will work with GT5 but anyone else worried about compatibility with other games? I know it's mostly the game developers that add in wheel compatibility but spending $600 to get a wheel that only works with one game seems a bit much...

Amazon UK is an indicator it's going to look like MSRP.

I think they've just gone with the MSRP as they're the only ones so far, trying to cash in on the fact and earn interest on the pre-order money. They also state:

Pre-order Price Guarantee: order now and if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you'll be charged the lowest price.

We'll only get a real idea of actual price once a bunch of retailers get it up.

It says:"Adjustable angle of rotation up to 1080º".

Does anyone know how little the rotation can be adjusted down to?

I can't help but notice that there seems to be a lack of buttons on the wheel. I'm sure PD worked with Thrustmaster to map all the buttons for the newest features but you can see from the pictures that there are two less buttons along with the knob not being there.

I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Yeah no ra wheel and apparently very few buttons... I am thinking something will have to happen to the fina version with more buttons.

I can't believe the shifter costs extra, can't wait to see the price on that

If I'm going to pay extra for an H-shifter, then I'll go back to PC sims and use the CST shifters that will be coming out.

They already expect $600 for a wheel. For a complete set that costs more than $600? This wheel isn't worth the price.
You might as well get a Frex wheel, CST Pedals, CST Shifters, and a good PC to play good PC sims.

I don't really care what it cost, as I wasn't going to get one anyway....but holy smokes that is way too much.

Some people will get it, but PD & TM have lost their mind if they think THIS is going to be selling like previous GT badged wheels did.

I'm willing to bet the shifter is going to be badass and all, but I'm also betting it comes in @ $200.

This is Amazon's standard pre order disclaimer so you never feel worried ordering now is a mitake and you will miss a sale later.

GT5 had the same message on it as well every pre order item they have.

I am not saying the wheel WON'T drop in price before it launches but rather that this Amazon message is not any kind of hint that it will.

Nice wheel. but 600dollar?

I think 200€ is already alot of money for only a "wheel/controller". so i am still happy whit the DFGT. hmmm, i can buy 6 DFGT's for 1 T500 or 2 PS3's....💡

Seems like an nice strategy from Thrustmaster/PD... You pay 500€ for the wheel... And then after 2 months when the shifter comes out, you think nah 100€ for the shifter is ok... If the shifter would be released in the same day as the wheel and they would say 600€ nobody would buy that...

My thoughts about that...

Do you guys think we will ever get proper G27 support.
I'm starting to doubt it.

I don't care if this piece is made of solid Platinum

Who the hell is actually paying $600 for a virtual racing wheel?

I mean christ, If I want some realistic force feedback, I'll go hop in my '87 GTI with no power steering lol

I've already just about beaten the game with my DFGT

Is this actually worth it?

Someone like me where sim racing is a hobby. No different than a hunter spending hundreds on a gun or a dog.

I had been wanting to replace my 2 year old DFGT for a while, and i was going to wait for this wheel, until I saw the price. Now I'm the proud owner of a new G27 that I got for NZ$350, whereas this wheel would cost me over NZ$800.

I have spent more then that on controllers for my FSX addiction. That's not even counting Track IR for head tracking and not even getting into FSX being open source and me buying much higher detail land areas and aircrafts. $600 isn't that much $$, now wether this wheel is worthy of $600 is another thing.

For this kind of money I'm seriously interested in the warranty. I don't know anything about Thrustmaster, other than it makes items for flight simulators, I just hope they offer a stout warranty to match the high end "quality" of the wheel.

What's tough is I got a G27 for Christmas...because that's what I asked for, since I didn't know this beast was coming out. I'm having a tough time trying to decide whether to open up and keep the G27 or put some additional money toward this thing. After using the DFP and DFGT for years I think it will be annoying not to have use of the buttons on the wheel, and based on peoples opinions it doesn't look like Kaz will update the game to support the G27 more.

Hopefully Thrustmaster already sent some wheels out to be reviewed, so we'll be getting some reviews this week (hopefully).

Why aren't all you "Europe" folks posting lots of picture and info? It's the 26th, the wheel is supposedly out!!! lol...

Nope.

Considering the G27 worked BETTER in GT5P than it does in GT5 and the G25 works just fine in GT5 (including it can access the RA menu) I think the G27 was intentionally screwed over because Kaz was planning for the T500 and wanted to make sure the closest major competitor had flaws to drive us to the new wheel.

The best wheel, IMO, for price/value was the wheel I sold to get the DF Pro - The Logitech Momo Force (not the cheaper Logitech Momo). The pedals were fantastic quality, and the wheel mechanism was rock solid - and I think the price was pretty similar to the DF Pro.

I agree 100% the momo red had basically a momo wheel and the sturdiest steering mechanism outside of a frex. Sort of disappointing when you think how the g25/g27 and fanatecs all wobble a bit. Hopefully the thrustmaster will be rock solid as well.
