2 weeks away from buying the logitech GFP and I thought I'd check out the Thrustmaster, oddly just at the same time I noticed this thread.
Wondering now if it'll be worth paying at least double for it?
Looks like an awesome product.
I'm more inclined towards the logitech just for price reasons and I'm not a poor man by any means, I just feel it's more than I actually require.
Any pros/cons posted I'd be most thankful for. (DFGT v T500RS)

We really don't know the price yet. We don't know if the 500 was in US dollars or in Yen. If it is Yen then it will be about the same price as the G27.

The more I hear about this wheel the more the price seems justifiable to me, so it's becoming a must buy in my 2011 list too.
I can't wait to get more info on the technology used in the pedals, maybe some more info on the wheel, and most importantly info on the shifter that is sold separately. More pics from them would be great too.

Never thought that 15 pounds of metal can be that expensive :dunce:

You mean weight = better quality? That´s what they suggest...

I'll be buying in Yuan 元 which is 10 to 1 for GB pounds.
I found the DFGT for 110 pounds (1100yuan) online which is cheaper than some other currencies.
I don't expect it to retail for around the equivalent of 500USD here in China.
(Everything seems to be made here!)

110 pounds is 180 USD. The DFGT here in the US is 120 USD.

With it being all metal it should feel very sturdy and should last for a very long time. All metal items tend to be of MUCH MUCH higher quality than similar items that also include plastic, however they also tend to be more expensive because metal is more expensive than plastic.

I'll be ready to buy it as long as my second G25 [Current] broke up. It'll be good to use for GT5/TDU2/rF2/Shift2/Dirt3.

Now all I want to see is the shifter and a review from ISR :D

yes i am waiting for the ISR review also , (even though they are fanatec fan boys ) they have hinted that thrustmaster will be sending them one shortly.

i hope they dont review it with rose tinted glasses

metal itself is not more expensive than plastic.
it's more the work that goes into working metal. plastic is really easy to form unlike metal xp

sorry just had to say this :$

anyway looks awesome. i wanna i wannaa!!!!

Mhh I´m still not sure... I´m interested in the Fanatec GT2 because I also want to play Forza...

I don´t think that the Thrustmaster will support the xbox :D

If the Thrustmaster will cost 300€ it´s interesting but for 500€ I will took the GT2...

The questions I have are:

From the FB vid, they only flip the set and move the pedal faces, how will everything work?

Is the brake pedal a load-cell?

Will some things be adjustable from the wheel (e.g. FF strength, Rotation of the wheel ect.)?

P.S. I know the ISR guys are Fanatec fanboys, I have a Fanatec and it is great! But I hope ISR guys truthfully review these products.

I have my doubts sometimes because they are a show run by donations so people may put clauses in (Big-up our products up whenever you can ect.)

Oh, stop whining about 'sour grapes.' ISR promotes a product because it is the best - I do not see any fanboy-favoritism in their reviews and I have been watching their show for ~2 years.

go back and watch all of the ISR episodes. ISR is fair, balanced and open about likes and dislikes.

:)
merry christmas!

+1

The fanatec is a premium product that will work on PC, PS3, and Xbox360 racing sims! sounds too good to be true! I want to hear more player comments on this wheel. The other Fanatec wheels seem to have issues with upgrades and settings according to some users.

If everything looks good I will grab a wheel and pedals next month. praise allah I am wealthy male, land-owning, caucasian, gentry of Western civilization.

:)
merry christmas

Agree. In their wheel comparison show they were very even in their admiration between fanatec and logitech.

i have watched them for a while and have noticed that they promote that wheel more than any other thats all.(not frex or ecci) maybe they have to who knows.

the review will tell

I prefer the G27 over Gt3 and I can feel the belt in the Fanatec wheel. Some of the FFB seem to be dampen by the belt. Both feel like toys compared to a real wheel. Now I heard that a $2700 wheel felt close to the real thing yet that's a little too expensive for me.

I agree and I can't feel any gears in my G-27 either. That is just nonsense.
I also have both as well as I had a DFGT (also decent wheel) that my Great Dane decided to eat the rim on one day while I was at work. Should have named him Mario.
The only, and I mean only, thing wrong with the G27 is that a few buttons are not supported- and they never will be. Here is proof of that:

Here is a message and reply I got from Logitech on the issue:

When are you going to work with Poly to get full PS3 / Gran Turismo 5 support for this wheel?
This is pathetic. To sell a $300.00 US wheel that barely is supported?

And their response -Note I took out all the names and replaced with xxx:

People already know this but now it's official.

Sounds like the shifter won't be available for a while. The write up at mad shrimps says something about the shifter available in the coming months.

Pff 499€... That is off tha hook!

I´ll focus on Fanatec GT2 and hope they will go down with the price because it´s the same as gt3rsv2 with xbox support...
