The Ultimate cars for De La Sierra?

Hey guys,

Let's discuss about the best cars for this track.

So I was thinking, since theres loads of turns, up hills, down hills and even jumps, a Pikes Peak car would be the best choice for this track.

What are your thoughts on this? And do you have other cars in-mind?

For me I have had good fun with BMW M3 GTR, very stable through the fast sweeps, good power for uphill sections and nice on the edge through long corners. I have used this stock and enjoyable

Unfortunately the winner of a time attack isn't based on who liked their car most.

Sierra is just a very long race track, it's not like a road what so ever. So really it's down to consistency - So anything snappy would be a poor choice.

I mean the obvious answer is a FGT or a red bull, but if we're sticking to more 'normal' cars probably the R35 TC.

For some people this game isn't about having the fastest lap time, and he didn't mention it was for a time attack.

I didn't realise "ultimate" meant fastest in this context.

I think if he wanted the fastest car he wouldn't have to ask.
 
The grand 3 (or 4 now) Ferrari P330, Jag and Ford. With the addition of the other 20 million Ferrari.

No car newer than 1970 on the road.

Get me a seat for that one ;)
 
295HP rally cars with sport softs are fun to drive on that track. (I have my "RM/TC" rally cars set up that way)

yup... Ferrari 365 GTB4 is a dream... although it's past 70 (just) its amazing with a V12
 
I enjoyed taking the Toyota 2000GT for a spin.

I think one of the best things about this track is that it seems to suit a wide range of car types and performance ranges. I've driven around it in everything from the old Mercedes SL to the new Toyota FT-1 without feeling a mismatch with the track.

Which makes it a great all-rounder in my book.

Looks like you havent got the spirit that he's talking about. Many people preffer to enjoy their cars than just trying to hit victories or records. ;)

I say a handling car is best. like a LCC Rocket, KTM, Suzuki GSXR-4, or a GTR or something. Something 4 wheel drive or very light
 
For pure entertainment and adrenaline try the Gillet vertigo - fit the high RPM turbo and set the gearing for 224mph - use bonnet view for maximum effect. It wheelspins in the first four gears and wheel stands over every road crest and hump! Very difficult to control on Race Hard tyres, but very exciting and satisfying to drive when you get into a rythmn and keep it on track (the vertigo was actually driven in real life by a paralysed ex-racer - Philippe Streiff - using a joystick / handcontroller of the sort used to control electric wheel chairs).

Toyota 7 on race hard tyres and standard settings is also a thrill ride.

Renault 8 Gordini and Alpine, with their rear engine layout and super quick steering are epic on this track - they can get into some incredible wobbles!

Love the track, just wish the SRF could be switched off in the event and it paid out multiple times - then I wouldn't grind on the Red Bull ever again!
 
I Used a modified Lamborghini Gallardo, with the engine upgrades maxed out. It was thrilling to see the scenery whip by then realised I should have braked 50m back. A fast super car really give the track an epic feel.
 
TVR Tamora for me, at 500pp it's a really planted car on this track. s/s tires & SRF off
 
Otherwise dead stock Cizeta on CM with pre-ver1.09 alignment (0 camber, 0.20 rear toe--all other values equal to standard suspension) and not a single driving aid is a very hairy ride and thus very satisfying when you can do it right. I run CM as it's essentially a late 80s supercar (I know the model year says otherwise but you can't convince me it got the very best of what was available at that time) and they just weren't blessed with supernatural grip levels. 288 GTO with the same adjustments is also a joy.

A032Rs on that one, also wider than those spec'd on the 500F in the game. Would certainly be fun on CH but it might warrant CM or perhaps even CS given the Yoko compound.

Most of the Ferrari's are good, my Focus RS with 500pp is a real hoot. If you want a challenge, try a 125 shifter Kart. Geared for 118mph it maxes out on the straights but has enough pull for the uphill sections. Just watch for the jumps as they throw you off line, and the expansion joints on the bridges can send you vertical
