^Excellent! I'm looking forward to that!

I think I'm resigned to the fact that I'll only catch your GT if I strap a jet engine on the back! :guilty:

Dave, playing about with that picture made me go to my garage and find one of my R5 Turbos. What a little cracker! :D That long downhill left is soooo easy - want to tighten the line? a little lift and it's there! :sly: My Pug may be quicker, but that Renault is loads more fun! (except maybe at the Scuba Diving Circuit, where it really came into its own!)

Whell,Dave, try to take my RX-7 time with the Turbo,as it's not gonna move from that due to technical difficulties!

Your on!

Im not sure there is .5 left in the T5 to be honest but I will have a go for sure:tup:

The time I posted was quite flat out everywhere but with the right suspension settings there is always time out there....

Its immense fun and hopefully im going to get through this series without doing any power increase modifications too! Tsukuba was tricky until I learnt to spend just half the time on the throttle and coast the rest allowing the chassis balance to sort the corner..

Hah! Proto Spirra Update - 1.37.925
Ford Focus RS - 1.47.224

I think i should be able to get the Spirra to do a 1.36.xxx if i can manage to get it to stop lift off over steering. Its ssssssoooooo bad, into the first 2 corners the car is sideway the whole time.

And the Focus, well its good under braking but with any slight throttle the car just deciedes it wants to understeer stright into the sand trap.

OK Finally found the time to try out the Galant and GT-R at Infineon, got to the track and quickly realised it was an almost unknown to me. Bugger, time to start learning a new track and damn quick, but thats what happens when you take time out to go bike racing (TT) and help judge a tuning competition (that should spark a few comments when published as well).

So out with the Galant first and boy is this car not happy here, the week engine base is still a major problem despite having the engine balanced (new track mod) before leaving Japan. Sticking to using the car as a 'spotter' for the GT-R and getting it ready for the 'ring. To be honest the only reason I brought the car this far is to make sure its in a half decent state to throw at the 'ring.

The GT-R on the other hand is a joy here, mainly due to the work carried out at NISMO in Japan before leaving for the US. The full race suspension system the car has had fitted (new track mod) now allows almost every area of the suspension to be played with. Intend to spend the time at Infineon getting used to its inner working before we move to the 'ring. Still as a start point, on a track I don't know that well I found the initial times to be encouraging. Still a lot left in the car, so I will see what happens as I get more used to the circuit.

Well.. I did some driving on the track too,, But I have a problem,, My Nsx is suffering powerloss:crazy: How do you ask? Well by driving 170+ miles in total on the last few tracks,, I will not buy a new one though,, cause that wouldn;t happen in real life too,, Anyways some new specs to be added:

Acura Nsx '04
Stage 3 NA tune-----Infineon Sports car course mod
376BHP @ 7100 RPM
388.96NM @ 5500 RPM
Time at Infineon: 1'41.672,, Yeah yeah I know it's not that good:)
And my Toyota is waiting for a spin on the track

Whell,Dave, try to take my RX-7 time with the Turbo,as it's not gonna move from that due to technical difficulties!

Improved a bit by altering the camber settings a tad, nearly there!

Deathwish, do another oil change. That should be all, until about 6-800miles (1000km)

Edit: I'm getting the hang of this place now...

Ruf: 1'37.319"

That was a bit untidy, so I think there's more to come...

Relaxe there Hulk,it happens to anybody!

Quite agree, its a pain of a track to learn, but the more time I spend on it the more I like it.

Particularly like the hilly complex section straight after the start/finish, once you comit to that uphill left hander you are locked into a section that requires very tight steering and throttle control, but the rewards are a roller-coster like ride.

Spent a while on it last night (but too much time on TT - god I love that game) and got my time down a bit more. Now at a 1.48:823 with the GT-R.

grrr...goose no like

1'38.549 in the Zonda

1'47.347 for the Monaro

Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GT-A '02

(with sports exaust, sports suspension, sports clutch+flywheel and as my one mod the stage 1 turbo) 363hp@6500rpm with no aids and s1 tires

4wd/320+hp/modern/about 1400kg/1997cc (?)

So far best time 149.396 (infinion sports) :indiff:

As one of the stewards,i would like to see full spec of your car,so you can take someone's for a template,ie. Dave George has a good one,it is necessary for the competition!

About classification, read the first post and sort your car!

The base set up includes a racing flywheel and a standard clutch. (unless it is a mod) You seem to have the right idea about mods except as this is the fourth track we are visiting, you get four mods.

Fianlly got some decent times down in the GT-R, great track once you start to get into the flow of it.

Tweaked the GT-R's set-up today as well, running quite hard, but with a lot of camber, given the lack of any real straights here it does help a lot.

Fastest set was 1.46:824, very happy with that, but not sure if i can better it.

I will have to do up my specs page when I get back, but only after I take the monaro for a another run, and get the cobra out on the track.

The Zonda is a handful on this track, and even with semi-race suspension, and Scaff's Tuning Guides (you all know where they are, and if you haven't got a copy yet, GET THEM), I couldn't get it to do diddly squat.

The Monaro however, is an absolute dream with NA Tune stage 1. She's a heavy b(ugger), and is quite forgiving of mistakes. I haven't touched a thing in the setup from The Scuba, and she's wonderful! Looks good too!

back on topic , i am going to get (most likely) a '83 300zx and use it for the nurb any suggestions?:sly:

Why not get it and use it at Infineon? You can have 3 cars remember.

Juyst remember that once you enter a car, you can't change it.

Anywoo, the '83 300ZX is a pretty damn good car IMO, so I would go for it! Give Scaff a run for his money in his Galant anyway.

I have a feeling that I will be watching the tail lights of some much slower cars (notably, Scaff's Galant) disappear into the distance when I take the Zonda round the 'ring (okay, that sounded rude, or is it just my infantile 21 year old mind at work again?)

Welcome to Socomplayer2, if a little late in the game :sly: It's good to see another Evo, I was always surprised there weren't more joining in :odd: . And the '83 ZX responds surprisingly well to tuning, but needs a bit of help with the chassis. Funny, cos I never rated that car IRL...

I've been out with the Pug and the Caterham, and shaved a bit off their times:

Peugeot 205 T16: 1'42.273"

Caterham Seven Fireblade: 1'43.498"

Ed, surely you can beat the undrivable Zonda!

Well, I had a run in the Cobra, and what a shamozzle!

I managed to get a 1'44.734, but not before some dramas.

First of all, an official who will remain unnamed (a112) gave me the stewards enquiry flag for this corner

Obviously in I say, Eddie never specified HOW FAR the 2 wheels had to be on the track

Then another unnamed steward (Eddie) black flagged me for this one

The rumble strip is part of the track, is it not?

So I stops and gives Eddie a serve

Didn't go down too well unfortunately

So I thought I would give them something important to do

Pity I didn't think about the fact that I'm an official too, and had to help clean up the mess!

Things progress further, and there are no more altications with the officials, but there were dramas of other kinds too

When ya gotta go, ya gotta go

Hello? Oh hi Mum! No, I can't really talk now, this isn't a good time! Yes I'm in the car! DAMMIT MOTHER, that was Scaff in the Galant, now I'll never catch him! Okay, talk to you later, bye.

Why didn't I leave this in the pits?

Then the unthinkable happened! I ran out of fuel, and had to push it back to the pits, although I had just passed the exit lane, so I took a shortcut

Oh well, there's always the 'Ring

Attention Paddock:
AC Cobra has been black flagged, and indeed black balled for ridiculous shenanigans on the track.
We have no wish to repeat this procedure with other offenders (we've run out of Molasses for a start!) so please run clean laps and don't be stupid!
Thankyou. Bingbong

Hey, it was a clean lap! Not the fastest, but still clean nonetheless!

And don't you think the black balling was a little un-neccessary? Damn man, ya want me to wet my suit?

-edit-
What the heck IS black balling?

oh...do I wanna know?

what about low flying M5's? are they allowed :sly: :D

And to think I thought you were a discerning man of taste... Oh, no I didn't. :dopey:
