Never thought it was a failure, it's the biggest thread on there! I was coming from the perspective of someone running a succesful championship :sly:

any times? :p

No legit ones. 7'00.4xx with one direct impact with a wall.

The best mod that this car needs is a super close tranny because this one is rediculously tall. I rarely ever hit 4th gear on any of the other tracks if for a mere 3 seconds max. Now I finally hit 5th gear (only on one straight) and there is another one to go. I topped out at 205 mph before having to get on the brakes. I don't think this thing will need 6th gear even on the test track.

similer speeds and times im getting with the M5....should be intresting :)

Bingbong.
Attention Paddock: in the interest of getting times on the board, leaving the track once on a lap will be passed provided the 'off' does not in any way benefit your times.
Thankyou. Bingbong.

Don't do it, the only result is a huge increase in the torque at the driven wheels, particulalrly in lower gears. End result shreaded tyres.

Sixth gear in the GT is more of an 'economy or cruising' gear, the car v-maxs in fifth.

Actually, that would only be a problem for first gear. Currently, I can pull out with a good rev and once the clutch is out I can floor this car in first gear with no wheel spin. And that is all the way to 70 mph. I assumed 6th was a gas saver which I would love if I actually owned the car, but it is aggrevating in a world of free gas ;)

edit: Yea Holden I have been worried about that since I saw a 600+ figure for your power considering I have around 580. I fixed my random fly off the track problem so this should be a close fight. The problem I had was too much front downforce. On any bumps that made the front lift caused it to slam back down which made it a little jittery.

I have not had much time this week but i manage to get a few in with the focus and about 3 with the spirra.
Ford Focus RS- Nurb mod - Semi racing susp - Best time= 8.05.264
Proto Spirra - Nurb mod - Semi racing Susp - best time = 7.40.342

Well you are all just going to have to wait for my times! I wanna keep you in suspense for a while. (well, really, they are crud, but shhhh)

Yep its not a problem currently because you are using the stock 'box. I've tried the whole range of GTs with every 'box and in my opinion the best option for the car is the stock one.

Your hitting peak torque at around 2,700rpm in the GT (of 500lbs.ft), which means with a closer 'box fitted (and the super close is a lot closer) and I found it caused more problems than it solved.

Just my personal experience with the car, never been of the opion that any of the 'closer' 'boxes are needed or an advantage, and I have tried the full set of combinations.

I will take your word for it. It is not like I can change it anyway, and I love being able to romp on it in every gear. I'm going with the FC suspension.

A fine choice given the track.

For some reason, the cobra is loving this track, I have a 8'08.955 which can be improved quite a lot, since it is through driver error (ie. getting a wheel onto the grass and doing 7 spins down the track) that it is so slow.

No over or understeer, I can tromp the gas and not have the tyres disintegrate, and all I did was put Semi-Race suspension on it, and lower it to 90mm off the deck, and left everything else as it was.

It loves it!

Ed,how's msn going on?

Seriously A112, a PM would be better for that.

Not to be rude, but I thought I would get in before Scaff did

Let the better team win in a couple of hours time

"Come on Aussie come on, come on, come on Aussie come on"

"Aussie Aussie Aussie, OI OI OI"

Whell, people does not read PM's some times, and Ed was active on the thread.
And Go Croatia,Croatia,Croatia :D:D:D:D

I think I will wait until the next series so I'm going to miss thi outing. BTW, have you decided the list for the next one yet? I think it should still be 5 tracks, with La Sarthe I at the start with La Sarthe II at the end. Just my contribution.

Go England go! We know we won't win but, so!

P.S. Apologies for any drunken England fans who starta fight. They ARE a minority.

Whell i find sarthe more speed than technical course, that's big minus with many of cars who joined track day series!

Welcome back xjr-9

There'll be a bit of a gap before we run the next series (2/3 weeks), so dive in anyway for the Nurb. If you like PM me your car set-up and I'll ok it for you.

Circuit wise, I'm thinking I want to go with the better original tracks next time, like Grand Valley, so I don't think we'll be seeing Sarthe just yet. Come to think of it, it's not a closed track (well, part of it is on public roads), so you could never run an actual track day there anyway...

Look out for the discussion thread, I'll be starting that next week.

Having dreadful trouble with the Ruf on the bumps. Lightening it has opened up a whole sheaf of problems :grumpy:

Excellent news, and a question I was going to ask. may I be so bold as to suggest a few.

1. Grand valley Speedway (the full circuit)
2. Apricot Hill (easily the closest to a real circuit)
3. Deep Forest (a personal favorite)
4. Autumn Ring (I always thought of this as an GT's early attempt at the 'ring)

Oh, no? Perhaps not a Track Day per say, but if it were a sanctioned series...such at the GT Productions in aus (go the Crazy John's Lambo!) you can run

-edit-
motorland perhaps?

-edit 2-
oh sorry, that's not an original track

-edit 3-
Ok, well, ummm, hmmm, duhhh.

At the risk of being called a quitter...I am going to have to announce that there will be no time submitted for the Zonda at the 'ring. It is incredibly hard to drive with these tyres, and I have spent all week trying to get at least ONE clean lap, which hasn't happened yet, so I am giving up on it. Time to run the Monaro

I just found a shot from Laguna that I thought I would share with you guys.

While you were all screwing around eating breaky and discussing setups, I took my CBR600RR out as you know, and while I was out there, I came across a guy drifting a MODEL-T!!!!!!!!!

Nice one goose, and the game was tie,so that means no one is a loser :D

Ah well, we still made it through to the second round!

Anyway, I have had a few requests for a time for the Zonda, and the only one I actually bothered to finish, was

57'32.492

I needed to relieve my bowels [/too much info]

times for the 'ring in my timepost

-edit-
I just worked out what the problem is with the zonda!

It has 666BHP!

Oh, and I can't drive!

But mainly the 666BHP!

evil amount of power!

Timepost updated.

The GT time is completely legit and the commodore had a runoff. I slipped off a rumble strip, and I can assure you the sand didn't improve my time.
