I always disliked SAABs as a kid, probably due to indoctrination since my father was working at Volvo back then. In Sweden you kind of had to choose between team SAAB or team Volvo. And I guess I am still Team Volvo. But after SAAB went out of business, I really do miss them. And the old cars are cool and quirky. Like this Saab 96 Wagon (or maybe 95, I am not sure)!

All station wagons should have two foldable seats in the back!
This one even had the legendary Puke Pit, quite handy for reverse seated kids during those long and un-air conditioned road trips along bumpy and curvy swedish roads… 🤢

Came upon this in FB. Green, just like one of my uncles had without those wheels. He had the Dodge hub caps, not wheel covers. He also had a brown one.

Love that it's a Chevelle shell and only the grille shell stands out as being non-Chevelle, but it's got PMD Rally IIs.

I happened upon it because of those wheels, but something about them wasn't quite right. That's because they're actually a 17" repop of a 15" wheel available on Buick and Oldsmobile fullsizes throughout the '80s.

It's also got an LS3 backed by a 6L80, so it probably moves along briskly.

They all have their place. I have one of each and the SUV is the one that's the most versatile. The wagon and the sedan both have ground clearance issues, as they're both performance cars, and with the added bonus of 4wd on the SUV it's the best choice for me on many occasions.

But to be fair, my SUV is more of a crossover SUV (Subaru Outback 3.6R). It has pretty much the same ground clearance as a Ford Explorer (and better than many SUV's) but without the high seat height.

Nah, that's not a SUV to begin with. Neither is an Audi Allroad or a Volvo XC70, or anything built out of a normal wagon with increased ride height and some plastic protection. They're just wagons with added practicality and common sense.

One year only and effectively a previous generation Montego Villager with new-for-'77 Cougar front sheetmetal, the nameplate would be replaced in '78 with the Zephyr, only two-door coupe and four-door sedan Cougars continuing for the remainder of the brief fourth generation. This one's a great color but it desperately need the turbine wheels that would have been on offer.

I had no idea a Cougar wagon was ever offered.
