The WDS Tournament - Round 2 + Results

Welcome to Round 2!

8 people advanced, and after this round only 4 will remain. To test your skills this week, darkwind came up with the Mini Challenge™.

Eligible Cars:

Mini ONE
Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper S

HP Limit: 171 HP

Horsepower shall be measured in the settings screen. Go to Las Vegas as you normally do, click on settings, and then click on the hp/torque graph. Torque may be any # but hp must be equal to or less than 171.

This is the only restriction, so everything else is legal. Except cocaine.

All 8 entrants MUST post their setup at the conclusion of this round. Your win WILL be stripped away from you if you cannot produce a viable setup. In the unlikely event of 2 people that are paired against each other not submitting, than whoever lost by the least amount will advance to Round 3.

BCDSM is paired with kennythebomb
German_Muscle is paired with somebody
darkwind is paired with speed_freak
mymkovski is paired with Thirdeye

Please post in this thread sometime, even if you are holding out, to let the other person know you weren't abducted by angry aliens that you owe large sums of money to.

Feel free to share any settings/car choices/tips/your time/recipes for good apple pies.

The deadline for submission is September 13th at midnight CST. You must post your time in this thread by that time.

Looks like it's me and you Kenny, I don't have time to run tonight, but best of luck to yeh bud. Oh and to the rest of yeh as well.

This will be very interesting, I think I've driven the S once or twice for the one-make races , but never at the strip.
 
I've had a quick go at all three cars. In no particular order:

Car #1 - 13.006
Car #2 - 13.086
Car #3 - 12.854

I'm presuming NOS is okay as it doesn't add to the HP in the stats screen but does add HP when used.
 
i guess were not gonna wait untill the WRS Week 10 is over? I know some other feel the same but there is to much going on at once.

When WDS week 10 ends, there will be WDS Week 11.... there is *always* going to be multiple things going for people here on GTP. At one point I was active in WRS, WDS, DTM, JGTC, keeping up my photo gallery/taking pictures/editing them, commenting in others galleries/ and entering/running various photo competitions. You just have to use your time wisely, I guess.

Ehh... or just not completly dedicate yourself to one event. I for example have taken a break from the WRS, about 1 month, and while this tournament goes one, or until I'm booted, I won't be AS active with the normal WDS.... that and I don't like throttle control on a drag race. Which confuses me because I can whip out 2 second faster laps with no driving aids on a circuit, but I'm 5 seconds slower on the drag strip, maybe I'm just to used to mashing the gas and nitrous.

And I LOVE throttle control - I had a blast qualifying for this tournament, that Buick 62 was something else. Too bad I had to do so well with it and end up against BCDSM ;)

I also haven't been very active in the WDS, I guess you just have to pick what more important to you, I want this tournement title, so I'll choose this over the WDS, then if I have time I'll do some WDS runs.

I also love the no TCS, really opens things up and spreads things out, and ads a challenge.

I havent really had a chance to run the Mini to much yet, the lightest one is inferior I guess due to torque/powerband, haven't looked into it much yet though.

I will try to find some more time for this over the next couple of days, but work is about to get really hectic so this may be my final time.

0-400m = 12.827 seconds

My second fastest car ran 12.847 seconds and the slowest ran 13.086 seconds.

Same here! For the exact same reasons too - except school. Well, indirectly I suppose... I have to buy crap for college.

Its so weird...you play for a few hours clawing at .001s and finally you knock off almost .2s...

Ok kenny, what's your best time so far, I'm (just) below the last one you posted, and I forgot tonight was the last night, so I spent the night stripping and gutting my car.
 
This ends tonite in 1 hour and 20 minutes just so everyone knows.
