the winds should really stop screaming, its hard to hear them. anyway if GT5 is 1000 cars 170 with cockpits and damage, 20 tracks with 60 veriations...... is that POSSIBLE?

In my opinion its not. Past gran turismos have had more tracks and even forza has 2x as many cars with cockpits. I think all 1000 will feature cockpits.

I would. Why name those specific locations knowing that there is a famous track built there? I think its just dumb if PD put it there for no reason. Or say, 'hey, because a lot of our fans live there!'

Coincidence that so many are or have been in GT already? Maybe, maybe not. Also, If this doesn't have anything to do with what tracks to be included in GT5, I think they could've put a lot more fameous tracks on that forecast. And one more thing, F1 CE has all the Grand Prix courses obviously (19), not as good looking as GT5's tracks, but it was a PS3 launch game, while GT5 has been developed for 5 years! Damn, I'm starting to get my hopes back.

There is one confirmed track missing from the forecast though, and that's Indianapolis.

but on that features list it put cockpits and damage in the same sentence, we know about damage so will cockpits follow? does anyone have an N4G account? the seem to not realise the damage situation. someone go tell them, I go ban for saying the site is " A fanboy's site"

IF that's true then it means the number is looking more like 60 tracks 20 layouts, cuz you know you have to have Trial Mountain and Grand Valley....
 
ok, i think in Aamar212's updated post he is only saying what is NEW to the GT series.
So he says "#2 More than 1000 cars, with many of cars being transferred from GT4. 20 tracks with 60 layouts" i think he means 20 new tracks with 60 layouts.

The fact that he says 1000 cars and adds: but many are from gt4, i think, means that he is only telling us what is new to GT5 in his cryptic messages-hence; not that the total number of tracks is going to be 20 in GT5. Just 20 NEW tracks.

anyway, That's what i make of it.

To be honest though, i never thought of that. 20 new tracks with 60 different layouts, interesting, but don't you think 60 different layouts is a little too much from merely 20 tracks?

I still think that number is waaaay to small for a 3rd generation GT game, especially when it has been developed 5-6 years.

That is purely based on a translation, we do not know the true meaning, as Famine suggested the layouts could be translated to original tracks... as in not real and have been layout by PD, its very hard to translate.

i just printed the Japanese website's claims, I've got a friend at uni who is from Japan and i am going to ask him to translate it!!

Lets see if what it says is what Amir212 predicts!

Ill be back to update you guys hopefully in about 5 hours, but if i don't see him today i will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday.
 
There's already been a few translations by native Japanese speakers coming from this thread. It's just a little hard to find now since were on page 132.

GT5P's menu has a live feed of weather from race locations around the world. In addition to locations seen earlier in the GT series such as Suzuka, Fuji or Nürburg, the weather reports feature other locations like Silverstone, Spa and Monza.

A lot has been speculated about this feature, but as far as I know, nothing has been confirmed regarding its effect on GT5.

Doesn't mean it's true.
