Kokubun didn't end 2nd!!
That is very rare. The only times I've seen him not second is when I force it. Game within the game, anytime I've lost the CRB my goal is to see how far down the leaderboard I can force that cheating bastard and still win the race :) Punt and pin in the hairpin works great!

New discovery, this car is one of te best no engine swap I tried yet

Honestly I didn't have much expectations, I just wanted to use cause it could be made look like KITT. But This one is really nice and fun, already want to go back drive it again, sorry don't remember the exact name but its the Chevrolet Corvette 2014

I haven't messed much with American cars so far, maybe time to start to look more there to find more hidden masterpieces

Tried the c5 and 812 superfast.
C5 is in line with the other corvettes like c6 and c7. Very easy win.
812 superfast there was a problem. I fully tuned it, and after that, wasnt able to drop it below 600pp on sports hards. Had to go with confort softs. Was not has easy to win has it was the C5 but still no problem winning.
If you want to use sports hard tyres on the 812 superfast for this race, be careful with the perma mods you get.

Managed to beat it in a Viper GTS that's stock except for SM tires in the rear and a Supercharger, should pass Gallo on lap 2 going into 3 on the straights and wall ride the first 2 turns. Lasts 7 laps on FM1 with a MT and thankfully because the last gear is so long you should shift around 192 MPH, as that's fast enough to keep a lead on the straights while conserving fuel slightly.

this race is really easy for me in a "Ford GT 06"

winning everytime! pitstop after lap 7!
after round 2 i stay 1st for the whole race!

i found golding IA-10 much much more difficult (greenhell mercedes BOAT!)

Laptime 2:05:xx
First Lap slower ...

Man it's so frustrating when you lose the bonus credit for almost nothing
The crb conditions are weird in this race.
There were times when I hard rammed an ai driver (even getting car damage) and I still got the the crb.
Then there others when an ai drivers bumps me from behind (when I was braking in the 1st corner) and bye bye crb.

Originally it was mostly Gallo as the main threat, even with 2 stops.I`d love to see the AI tuning sheets.
I'd love to see those sheets as well. There's no way Kokubun, or Gallo are under 600pp with soft tires. I'd guess they're closer to 630 +/-. There's an old thread about impossible things in GT7 and I'm going to add this... Win this race using Kokubun's RX-7 with the rotary engine and sport soft tires. That's it, tuning is completely open and on any difficulty level. I'm halfway decent around Tokyo and have tried this a few times with different tunes, even managed to squeeze 395 Hp out of a ballast tune, and still impossible. The soft tires are such a huge PP difference that I don't think it's possible, but someone please prove me wrong.

The V8 swapped Celica does this race easily without stopping.
The Celica is really good ( that Lexus V8 has ridiculous fuel economy). The new Clio Sport swap is a no stop as well, with the EJ20 it's basically a lighter MR Group B. They're both great at Le mans too. I went back and took a closer look at the cheating bastard Kokubun through replay and time trial. Replay tells us that he's using the high RPM turbo, by the boost gauge, and he's not using the stock gearbox, most notable by 4th gear speed. I did some TT testing to match his top speed on the main straight, average without draft right around 300 kph. The time trial track was dry so exit speed out of the hairpin was higher than in race and still needed the turbo at full song, no detune, to match his speed! I looked at other factors like tire wear, he's not running a lot of ballast, and obviously lap times, he's fast. My amateur conclusion is that his AI tuning is close to 600pp with SH tires but is magically allowed SS tires pushing his actual performance points to 650 plus.

Cool! It looks like the top speed isn't crazily high, with means it shines at acceleration?

Now I just need to wait this car to show up again in the used car lot.
Decent top speed but not crazy. This car doesn't have any weird pp bugs.

EDIT. This car also makes a very nice 700pp build for the Le Mans 700 race.

Not sure whether to post this here or post this at all as I haven't run the WTC600 at Tokyo for almost 2 years after stopping the grind.
So I do not have that experience that you guys have neither have I tried a lot of different cars.
Since the race has been part of the Weekly Challenges recently I came back to it though ending up with the Mustang Boss 429 which had been suggested by @Nebuc72 . Went on with a setup by @johnson_57 and got fascinated about that car. I'm talking about the standard version, no swap engine installed.

After about 2 handful of races with a CRB as a must and without wall riding of course the best time I could achieve was a 25:08.
FYI my race strategy always is SM tires, FM1 with a pit stop after 7 laps for tires and fuel. I've been very content with my results already but in the back of my head I always had that idea to break into the 24s. Which seemed beyond my skill horizon though.
I then saw the replay of a Japanese driver who did this successfully by using quite a similar tune, however with low DF settings. Lowering the DF means you can drive with less weight - the car is a beast anyway but this felt really tough. Especially since the low DF variant is more vulnerable on the wet track with puddles and the likes. Another positive effect besides better top speed and acceleration is shorter braking distances of course.

I must admit I needed an hour of driving to get accustomed to what happens on track but hey, I finally ( my third attempt ) got there. And there's still a bit more in it ;-) Really proud of having managed an absolutely clean run, if you're interested you'll find it in the in-game showcase : Title is "Born to run.", #rjruns #weeklychallenges ...

Excellent work! This is the way to grind. Make it challenging. Make it fun. Not a grind at all.
