Polyphonic? Do you Polyphony Digital? The reason there is now damage is to make the manufacturers happy, among other reasons. There are no clutches because they haven't perfected it yet to the point where they are satisfied and feel it should go in the game.

Having a clutch would be so awesome. Just imagine the being able to engine brake and heel-toe through turns. I was surprised you couldn't even engine brake in GT3.

....well i havent seen a game with a clutch (working clutch) in it....Rush has one but theres no need for it....They should make one where u could stall and clutch lock and all that good stuff

Rush, IMO sucks. They have a Ferrari arcade game at this arcade near me (Dave and Busters), its pretty realistic, compared to other games, cant stall or clutch lock though.

TOCA 2 for xbox has a working clutch. You have to press in the clutch in order to shift, if you dont press it..you strip teeth from your gears and eventually brake your tranny, among other things. As far as damage...im glad PD series doesnt want to incorperate damage into the GT series. It kinda takes away the driving pleasure of racing to your limit.

damage is more realistic and i would like to have the ability to turn it off and not affect the game any.

b/c i don't want to be doing some 2 hour race and on the last lap hit a wall and F up my car so much that i can't finish.

but it would be fun to have in free mode or 2 player mode.

as for clutch, yes it would be fun to be able to "heel toe" shift and stuff like that, but frankly, my thumb can only do so much.

Clutching is about feel so it would have to be some crazy smart force feedback system. I just don't think it would be worth it.
What he said.
You couldn't feel the rear starting to slip as you got on the gas too hard, and tried to make up the difference with the clutch.
The only way it would be "feasible" if it was a "no-stall" design.
But then what would be the point?
The GT games are good as they are tranny wise. It's hard enough now to properly manage the transmission for the lowest lap times.

Then they'd have to re-design the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel with a pedal for the clutch. So, obviously there will be no clutch.

Do you notice how that's for PC's and Mac's. In other words computers.

Yes i noticed, and also if you read up...im mearly replying to Dav5049915 in if there was a clutch program..the button would also be present in the DS2, just as TOCA 2 is on the Xbox controller. Using more buttons than you should on a controller is tiresome and can strain the hands. Thats where i replied saying "thats why you should get a steering wheel". Hypothetically, if GT had incorperated a clutching button..then a clutch pedal should do the trick. In no way was i refering to using the Acts Lab wheel for GT..when GT doesnt even have clutch...But good lookin out sUn

Dude, don't ferget LFS (Live for speed), as many of you Drifters out there know, this game is in depth, and uses the clutch dependently for an option, that is a real tuner game.... thats where its at
