Hi all drivers.
I think Polyphony forgot 2 things in this new update and DLC, they forgot the black and colored carbon fiber hoods and rims for standart cars, I don't know if you have the same opinion as me.

Peace to all, :)

I share the same opinion as you!!!

Please PD :)

Tbh, rims for standards would make me the happiest man on GTP already. :)

In the other day I was doing some setups on my Honda Civic(eg6) and I think: "In this car some rims wouldn't be bad", so i ran to my PS2 I play the GT3 to put rims in a Civic (eg6)

Yeah, cars like the EG6 or the MKIV Supra are some of the cars I want rims so badly...

And the E46 M3... OMG

Two things they forgot:

1. Livery editor, it's 2011, every game should have one
2. Better support for online lobbies (for example, room descriptions with a character limit in the thousands)

I want rims so badly on my Civics (ep, eg, crx, del sol), on my Integra DC2 and on my Seat Ibiza Cupra, but on the Cupra I want to put a black carbon fiber hood

I would like a wheel/rim choice for Dirt Tires (unless they already fixed this and I just didn't notice.).

i want rims for my beetle!!!

I'm sure they did not "forget", it would just of taken up too much time or of been very hard to do.

Actually I think the problem is that it would not be a perfect implementation. Like in previous games, they would have to make the wheels scale to fit different cars. I could also be some licensing issues, but I doubt it.

I still don't get why people care so much about the old, ugly, last gen and totally outdated standards. It was a big mistake by PD to include them in the first place. I mean, they looked good 6 years ago, on the PS2, but this is PS3 and the year is 2011. Please, don't make them waste more time on these low poly, low res textured cars.

They are outdated, but I would prefere to not lose them.

I completely disagree with you. In race, there is very little diferntiating standard models from the premium. On the exterior I think they look just as or at least ALMOST as good. They look WAY better than they did on PS2. The only time that's not the case is when there's text/decals on the car. Then the older models sometimes stick out a bit.

I would much rather have the standard models than not have them. I just think the standard models would have been MUCH more well recieved by everyone if you could just customize them with rims and carbon hoods. If I could just do that I'd be incredibly happy.

My ONLY other gripe about standard models is that the ones that had modelled interiors in GT4 should have them in GT5.

It would be much better if PD would pretend that GT5 is a polished product rather than just say the hell with stuff that they don't want to work on.

You sir, need to get new glasses, seriously. Yes they look a tiny bit better than in GT4 thanks to updated reflections, but they are the same models, as in same poly count (if you even know what that means). Saying they look as good or even the tiniest bit close to the premiums is just being ignorant.

Well, **** it, if you like them, then good for you.

That's my point. It would be 10 times more polished if it hadn't been ruined by the standards in the first place.

I doubt PD have forgot about carbon hoods and rims for standard cars, I'm sure it must've crossed their minds, but I think their prioritising things like DLC, which might contain carbon hoods and rims for standards.

I remember GTAIV came out and discovered there was no going to be any car customization what so ever. Going from SA to IV was a big let down in features wise. As the person said couple posts above, its 2011. Every game that revolves around cars should have a good car editor. I know its a driving simulation, but when you put it that way. Where is all the trucks and other types of racing? PD surely missed quite a few important features in GT5. Hopefully in a year a lot of this will be fixed and added!

If PD use only super cars the name of the game would be " Forza motorsport ".

I can play a game in which I can't change rims on my Yellowbird, but I can't play a videogame in which there is no Yellowbird at all.
In fact, this is a game of Driving Simulation, AND, some cars just look better than any other videogame ever made.
Now, is the glass syill half empty or is it half full? :sly:

Standarad cars from GT4 -> standard rims from GT4.
I can see no problems.

And the game would be a lot better if they had put the tiniest bit of effort into the Standards rather than Copy-Pasting them from GT4, and screwing a lot of them up in the process besides.

I feel sorry for the moderators here. :indiff:

There's about 40 million topics on 'when are they including this' 'why isn't this in the game', 'why wasn't this added in the latest patch/update'.

This is one of the reasons i don't really browse much in the GT5 forum anymore.

Oh please. The F150 Lightning didn't look nearly that bad in GT4. Neither did the Ram. At least some of the textures were downgraded.

Well, remove them from YOUR game.

Most of us like them, play with them and have a lot of fun with them. And as they are part of the game, I DO WANT that PD work on them in the same way I want them to add more premiums. I want them to polish the interiors like it was on PSP and even add more worked interiors like the ones on open top cars. I want them to add custom wheels for them just like in GT4.

And if you don't like, you can enjoy your 200 premium cars on your GT5.

And tbh a game is not only about the graphics... well, for the new generation of spoiled boys that have billion dollar videocards on their pcs, maybe yes.

PD ruined the game with the standards? HELL NO.

They are wrong by don't letting us change rims on them and make photomode unavailable for them, this is where they REALLY made it badly... in this point I completelly agree with Toronado.

But GT5 would be incomplete without them. GT3 was an awesome game, but the low ammount of cars made it feel imcomplete near GT2.

WE NEED a lot of cars. And YOU need some new glasses. Some standards were a bit polished to look a tad better. We still need a lot of work, but saying that they are the same as GT4 is not 100% correct. Just look at some logo textures, the wheels, etc and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I may admit that some look REALLY BAD, such as the Legacy 2.0GT, etc...

Well, I guess I'll have to repeat that I disagree with you. WHat else can I tell you? Right now I'm in the middle of the Tsukuba 9 hour race and I just did the 4 hours at nurburgring. And those GT cars are a mix of standard and premium, and in-race I see no difference between them. Now if you get up close in photo mode or something, then yea, you could notice a difference in alot of the models. But not in-race, and that's what matters.

That's not me being ignorant. It's you being ignorant. Not only because you have to get insulting because my opinion is different than yours. But mostly because on a large percentage of standard models, IN-RACE they look almost no different. The rims on alot of them is the only thing I would say look "bad".

I can see no problems.

In gt4, if you look closely, you will notice that the rims scale to fit different cars (this might happen in gt5, I'm not sure). But really, PD just seems to make frustratingly little progress.

dude for some people driving cars is more important than looking at them...

those cars are standard but they have premium physic model so any of them is good for me especially with cockpit view in 2.0.

Shame on you dude with iRacing avatar...

You can say only 200 of them are good looking but i say any of 1k cars are good to drive.. Ruf Yellowbird is one of the best cars in the game counting premium and standard. Catharam also is looking almost like premium.
